The pond's most tragic and pathetic secret is that it's addicted to weather porn.
Each day an app on the Shield delivers thirty seconds of weather chaos via the Weather Network (skews Canadian but does cover the ice in Walcha), and each day the pond watches, compelled, and forced to admit that what it thought might have been a dodgy CGI in a B-grade movie was actually a twister in the States or a dust storm sweeping through Khartoum (and making the dust storm in Bound for Glory seem inadequate ...).
It's easy enough to explain, if not justify. There's a catastrophist in everyone, and there - but for the grace of the long absent deity - the pond might have been caught up in an extreme weather event, a feeling it also gets when drones do over wedding parties or mad Islamics stalk the streets.
The pond also felt the need to change the topic. After all, there's been much talk of social media, and the role of extremist and hate speech, and every day the pond faithfully reproduces extremist rabble-rousing hate speech ... of the dog-bothering kind ...
But malevolence he will speak. In fact he malevolently peddles malevolence almost every day, speaking in his baleful malevolent way, while conveniently overlooking his earlier career as a minor war criminal in service of major war criminals ...
So it was with relief that the pond turned to the Caterists ...
Apart from picking the pockets of the Australian taxpayer, the main skill of the Caterists is to produce a sense of mind-numbing tedium, while promoting the joys of coal ...
According to the Caterists, Malware has the final, last chance to fix everything, though the Caterist splash is buried in a flurry of last minute fixes of everything ... it being the way things go in a constantly changing world ...
Funny, there was the Snowy Hydro fixing the mess in March, and now the Caterists are still fixing the mess in June ...
The pond was grateful for taxpayers kindly offering the Caterists a cash in the paw grant that insulated them from the real world ... how else would the Caterists be able to write that immortal line "before rising power prices start to bite."
Before?
Power prices bit good and hard as the delusional onion muncher announced that the scrapping of the carbon tax would fix everything, when in reality a carbon pricing mechanism might have done a lot to fix the follies that followed, thanks in large part to climate denialist coal enthusiasts wanting to cling to the past, rather than work out innovative ways forward ...
Speaking of these clowns, it's time for another pacifying, settling Caterist gobbet, so that the pond might set out on the day's journey comfortably numb ... as a classic taxpayer-grant loving sectional interest rabbits on about sectional interests ...
Well before getting to Kohler, the pond thought it might do a detour with another coal loving reptile ...also agitated about Kohler ...
Dear sweet long absent deity, is he still around?
It seems that if enough people chant "clean coal" and CCS long and hard enough, morons of the Gra Gra kind will assume that there is such a thing ...
And so to the Kohler that caused the coal-loving reptiles such consternated despair ...
It started off with Trump doing his withdrawal, but soon enough turned to the onion muncher doing his own version of the coitus interruptus, pull out, withdrawal method beloved of the Catholic church ...
If the pond might be so bold, that Kohler line should also have referred to conservative reptile Oz columnists, who prefer to score taxpayer grants while celebrating coal, coal, coal, or who maunder over clean Queensland coal, because it's XXXX ridgy didge ...
Hmm, that's sounding terribly alarmist ... no one will ever build a new coal power station again down under?
That can't be right. Have the Caterists been pocketing taxpayer grants in vain?
This is all well and good, but Kohler should have given more credit to the real perpetrator of the mess, who, with epic dummy spits, managed to truly derail energy policy for the few years he was in power ...
It turns out that the onion muncher is still proving a difficult child, something the pond learned by reverting to the infallible Pope, with more infallible papery here ...
