Thursday is the day the pond salivates at the thought of the savvy Savva explaining, as if from the desk of Malware himself, the issue of the day, unless she's savaging the dogs that seek to do down her mighty Malware ...
Now there's any number of complete doofuses out and about trying to get the pond to sympathise with Malware, by producing flourishes of fear, loathing, bigotry and condescension ...
None are more skilled at the task than the onion muncher, still proudly ensconced in the pond banner, as he rabbits in patriarchal Lovejoy fashion about the need to think of the women and children ...
Having planted the bomb in Claus von Stauffenberg style inside Malware's briefcase as he headed into the war room, now the onion muncher is on hand to watch it go off ...
The trouble with that metaphor of course is that Claus was intent on taking out Hitler. The onion muncher is intent on taking out and doing down gays, and then to dance on the sidelines, cheering the casualties and the human lives casually dismissed and tossed aside ...
It's a desperate situation and a desperate task to sort it out, and savvy Savva is just the person for it, starting as she does with a savaging of comrade Bill ...
At this moment, the pond must pause to wonder how Malware's government got themselves in this mess, so easily fixed, but so deeply rooted in homophobia and bigotry.
The honours should be shared, with the malevolent gay-hating onion muncher taking a fair share of the credit, but with the Murdochian reptiles also not part of the solution, definitely at the heart of the problem ...
At a time when polling has clearly established this hand should be a lay down misere, a popularly approved policy which would disappear overnight except amongst bigots and fundamentalist Xians and Islamics, the reptiles have embarked on a classic rear guard action ...
It will be recalled that all these arguments fit the usual tactics deployed by denialists on climate science - it doesn't matter, more important things to do, and so on and endlessly so forth ...
And so the reptiles gleefully trash the human rights of homosexuals as unimportant, and the arguments below the editorial descended into the usual angry exchanges typical of the "I'm not against homosexuality, but ..." and "I have gay friends, and they say the last thing they want to do is get married" kind, and these ...
Ah the pond knows the Akker-Dakker approved answer to that last one. If you don't love it, then leave ... piss off, fuck off, you treacherous treasonous wretch ...
Oh dear, that's the price the pond pays for being in the company of the reptiles too long, watching them as they swallow their microwave-warmed rats ....
And now as the pond's doing an extensive detour around the final words from the savvy Savva, it's time for a little cawing Crowe weighing up the political implications ...
It seems that in the end, it has absolutely nothing to do with people, or the policy that affects the lives of people ... it's just about the numbers in a cynical numbers game racket ...
It's a measure of the delusions involved in this discussion that anyone would think a voluntary postal vote is going to sort the matter out.
What if the vote in favour is lukewarm? Yo can bet your average fundie Xian will head off to the courts.
What if the vote is lost because the churches organised a decently indecent and viciously unXian campaign?
What if few bothered to vote, what legitimacy would the result have?
With these thoughts buzzing in the pond's noggin, it seemed the right time to return to the savvy Savva ...
It will be recalled, at least by those not sharing the pond's incipient senility, that Warren Entsch was hot to trot, to the stern Savva's consternation ...
Ah, the pond always enjoys the Savva. He will manage it as best he can ...
Well we all know what that means ...
And now for pedants and completists, a last burst of the cawing Crowe, taking his yarn up to completion ...
Uh huh ...and yet it seems to the pond that the onion muncher's inspiration and the entire tone of the reptile contributions to the debate could be simply summarised in a Wilcox cartoon ...
And so to a last Pope, with men hard at work - let's hope the tune doesn't contain any elements that offend the copyright police - and strangely he too is banging on about deeper distractions, and as always, there's more Pope here ...
Nikki Savva says about Corbyn, Sanders and Shorten: "While their messages resonated, they ended up back where they started."
ReplyDeleteOboiOboiOboi, Nikki the Stickey reckons that winning is everything. Coming second is indistinguishable from coming last !
Except that none of them actually ended up all the way back to where they started, did they. Corbyn and Shorten are now within a short reach of taking office (and Shorten is looking like a dead cert.) and Sanders is now a recognised major values and opinions initiator within "the Left" in America.
But then I guess that none of them can hold a lenten candle to the "look on my works ye punies and cheer" Malware Trumble.
Savva again: "Come October, Shorten ... will celebrate four years as opposition leader."
Compare with that great man, John Howard:
Opposition leader 1985-1989 but lost it to Andrew the Peacock in May 1989
And again 1995 to 1996 (having outlasted Hewson and Downer).
So, 6 years in all, and only won the election (at long last) in 1996. So, 11 "lean" years (1985 - 1996) followed by 11 "fat" years (1996 - 2007). But then he always was a bit arse-over-tip wasn't he.
I remember Packer being interviewed by Ray Martin on channel 9 and how he stated that Howard would be good choice for Prime Minister.
DeleteSo I believe that influenced that election.
We were then subjected to 11 years of lies and deception as Keating said later change the government and you change society and he certainly did that the little rat.
So Mal has called an emergency Party room meeting for next Monday on the issue of saving his leadership - sorry, on SSM.
ReplyDeleteYou might want to slightly delay that revised edition of your book, Savvy One - _very_ subtle plug, BTW - incase you need to add another chapter.......
That last Pope is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely brilliant Anon.
DeleteBetween Savva, Crowe and the Editorial.....probably 2000+ words of historical revision and future scoping, ending with the equivalent of a collective scratching of heads and arses at the same time......and Pope,
31 words >>>>>>>>>>BOOM!
