Oh come on Gazza, little did you know that one of the world's greatest climate scientists was lurking behind this circulation booster ...
Now before anyone starts mocking Lloydie, the pond is well aware of the theories and has read many papers on the subject, though it tends to discount recent studies in favour of an early study approved of by Mr Spock himself …
And so to the click bait of the day, and a curse on anyone who asks "if locked behind a paywall, can anyone hear you scream"?
Splendid stuff and yet further proof that the lizards of Oz can go glove for glove with the reptiles at the click bait champs, the UK Daily Heil …and how wretched of those spoilsports at Snopes to cast doubts on the notion that octopi came from outer space ...
And now to more onerous duties. The pond has got itself ready, and let others be warned and adequately prepared ...
The pond forewarned stray readers yesterday of the state of the CIVIL WAR (sorry, the Donald channelled the caps key for a moment) in the Liberal party, and sure enough, as predicted and expected, the heavy hitters were wheeled in today, and is there anyone heavier or more turgid than nattering "Ned" himself?
Hmm, the pond is holding up well, though perhaps others might find alternatives to match sticks, which are perhaps a little too nostalgic … never let ideology get in the way of practical solutions ...
Indeed, indeed, because you see, here's the thing: you can have your coal and you can eat it too … please allow "Ned" to explain how it's possible to rabbit on at endless length about the way that climate science is a form of "green gesture politics" and perhaps in due course the private sector will come to its senses and invest in coal of their own free will ...
Think coal!
Oh dear did that have sufficient gravitas? Let the pond and "Ned" say it again: "Think coal!!"
There is a way forward, with coal treated on its merits, which is to say as a fabulous thing, giving and clean and yearning, which will assist in energy reliability and emission reductions and everything is possible, and there is a way forward, and did anyone spot the pond's clever subterfuge?
Well credit where credit is due ...
And so to the Pope for the day, with more Pope here, and what joy, if it's not coal, it can be Baaaners ...
Lloydie: "...the pioneering work of Hoyle and Wickramasinghe on cosmic evolution ..."
ReplyDeleteOh dear, not that wiffle piffle all over again. Getting the Steady State Universe wrong was only the beginning for Hoyle. Mind you, it was less absurd than these 'multiple universes' that populate common "speculation" now. The idea that there's an infinite, and growing, number of universes so that every possibility happens somewhere in some universe or other. No, actually folks, if there's an infinite number of universes, then every possibility occurs an infinite number of times; so there's an infinite - and increasing - number of me typing out this codswallop for an infinite number of you to read. Enjoy !
