It's Monday, and that means that a scribbler whom the pond has come to think of fondly as Jihadi Jennifer is on the loose, berating both the useless West and the fellow travelling Pope ... that lickspittle, quisling mamby-pamby softie, that sell out fraud, that - we use the term advisedly and most politely - whore of Babylon surely destined to perish at the rapture as the result of his many betrayals ...
Now it's not as though Islamics themselves don't give the reptiles plenty of fine fodder. The chief stenographer managed to score this day thanks to a tone deaf Islamic ...
The pond takes this as a most pleasing sign that the reptiles have finally embraced the neo-Marxist Safe Schools program as a way of tackling this sort of bullying nonsense, disappearing children and making them invisible.
What next? Will the reptiles be calling for the Safe Schools program to be made compulsory in all Islamic schools, and by extension, all other schools?
We can only hope, but yes the pond always verges on the delusional - it's keeping the company of reptiles for years wot done it your honour, and may it please your lordship, the pond would like to tender in evidence the latest rant from Jidhadi Jennifer ...
Dammi, that bloody pope, there he goes again, talking about love and peace and bloody harmony and all the other guff. What's he think he is, some sort of turn the cheek Christian who just wants to get on with another bunch of delusionals wanting to talk to their imaginary friend, and quibbling about the details of said friend, shared with others in the Abrahamic tradition (a term a little more inclusive than the Judeo-Christian tradition)?
Doesn't this wretched Pope realise the only way to deal these heretics is to bung on a bloody good crusade?
Oh for the time when the Popes had a decent army and could throw their weight around ... where's Pope Joan when we need her?
Talk about cultural relativism when what's needed is a crazed fanaticism right up there with the Islamic fundamentalists ...
Yes, that's more like it, and needless to say, Jihadi Jennifer will be the first to don the red cross and join the charge ...
But wait just a second, first she must finish her rant ...
Yes, yes, the Judeo-Christian tradition that gives you complimentary women and gays locked in the cupboard, put there as an example for Islamics to follow ...
But really, when all's said and done, isn't that final clarion call - the pond uses the words politely and advisedly - fucking marvellous, a truly genuine expression of jihadism ...
Let the church bells ring out and let's wear the cross with honour!
What happened to that bit about speak freely and observe no god at all?
Sorry, you surely can't expect coherence or rationality when on a jihad, and by golly, when Jennifer goes on her jihads she smotes mightily and righteously ...
Come on Pope, get it together, let's get back into the crusading business ... it's worked out so well in Iraq and Afghanistan ...and the second crusade was a humdinger too ...
Why with careful planning we could have a century of crusading mapped out ... because it's worked out so well in Iraq and Afghanistan and Syria and...
Why with careful planning we could have a century of crusading mapped out ... because it's worked out so well in Iraq and Afghanistan and Syria and...
Oh heck, let's just do it, mission accomplished, victory is ours, don the cross, ring the bells, yadda yadda, on to the final rapture ...
Now, your honour, if the pond might plead one final defence.
The pond is aware that calling someone an Oreo can, in the United States, be construed as racist.
But the pond pleads first, the right to speak freely and the right to pray to the gods of biscuit and cookie manufacture, and secondly, the right to let the resemblance between Oreo and Oriel ring out, so that the Oreo biscuit might be eaten with honour ...
Let's face it, on a Monday the pond simply can't get enough Oreos, no matter how many might be on offer ...
Please, join with the pond in its weekly celebration of the charms of the Oreo crusade ...
Yet another fine flight of febrile self-delusion by The Oreole, I note. What was it that the psychies said: "The attribution process guides our behaviour, regardless of the truth of the attribution." and oh, my, The Creole surely can attribute.
ReplyDeleteBut then, we all know that one of Jenny's favourite attributions is to recognize her own wondrous intellect. So I looked up a lady who was/is highly recognized for her intellect, as demonstrated by her record high IQ score of 228: Marilyn vos Savant - well known for her elegant distillation of the Monty Hall quiz puzzle (yes, you should change your choice !).
Marilyn is quoted as saying: "Be able to defend your arguments in a rational way. Otherwise, all you have is an opinion." And she also says: "Success is achieved by developing our strengths, not by eliminating our weaknesses."
So, is Jenny capable of "rational ways" and is this one of her "developed strengths" ? Well, I dunno, but it seems to me that if you want to ascribe the bahaviour of a few bloodthirsty religious nutters to 'Islam', then you'd have to show that there is only one possible way to interpret Islamic writings, and that way ineluctably leads to Jihadism.
Which I guess would make over 99% of the 1.6 billion Muslims heretics, because they clearly don't go along with that. However it is clear that some "Christians" do. I instance the massacre of Albigensians (aka 'heretics') at Beziers in 1209. When it was pointed out to the Catholic Papal Legate that Beziers contained Catholics as well as Albigensians, his reported response was: "Kill them all, God will know His own". He was afraid, you see, that if he spared those who claimed to be Catholics, then some Albigensians might lie and falsely claim Catholicism, and thus escape their God-ordained punishment.
Which reputedly had the full approval of the Pope of the Day, Innocent III. So I guess the Jihadists may just be following very long standing Christian precedent.
Now _there_ was a Pope after the Oreo's own heart! Not like the current namby-pamby pretender, who obviously knows stuff-all about the world, Islam and Christianity - at least compared to Jen of Aust!

ReplyDeleteLoved the line re how moslems do not believe in the christian "triune god".
ReplyDeleteSome more applied "catholic" cultural relativism

The tentacles of which went deeply into Argentina, to the extent that it had an almost indelible imprint on the future politics of Argentina, including when the current pope was in various positions of power and influence.
And we all know whose interests he helped to promote and protect.
Which has of course been standard practice for over 1500 years.
See for instance The Criminal History of the Papacy by Tony Bushby.
Funny that, because they told me that the "triune" was really, truly just one (heaven forfend that Xtians should ever use the term 'avatars'), but maybe Jehovah-Allah had simply chosen not to show "his" three faces to Muslims. They were very late into the monotheistic game after all, and impenetrable 3-in-1 mysteries might have just frightened them off.
DeleteGood links though, Anony, and all part of the history that is continually being restructured.
My own preference, for a bit of earlier history, apart from the Beziers massacre, is the Fourth Crusade. People often complain about "the crusades" and how they inflicted death and misery upon the poor people who had themselves "crusaded" through the Middle East and Asia a few hundred years earlier (there really are no innocents in history) but of course the Fourth (and last) campaign was all about destroying Constantinople and the awful Eastern Orthodoxers. And it succeeded.
