Well that's what the Atlanta Journal reported on 21st June 1969, but what did happen to all that nonsense, and within the pond's lifetime?
Indeed, indeed ... and soon enough we'll discover what caused this dreadful state of affairs ...
But before then, it's to the main game, and it was purely by chance that the pond had addressed the matter of swimwear and religion yesterday, and that today two extremely authoritative reptiles should happen to pronounce on the matter ...
There was the barking mad, tin foil Oreo zooming in from the far right outfield with her Genghis Khan mitt at the ready ...
Oh okay, the pond couldn't resist that juxtaposition, of fundamentalism writ large, and the onion muncher having a coffee with Hanson, and possibly even sharing an Oreo biscuit...
And so to the main course ...
Now the pond has said as much as it needs to say about religion and swimwear, and really "barking mad" says all that needs to be said about the Oreo, though perhaps it's unfair to slander both dogs and the mad in one short unfortunate coupling, so after pausing for a little head covering of an Xian kind...
... hey ho, on we go ...
Indeed, indeed, there's no doubt that Cronulla was all the fault of filthy, vile, despicable Islamics and healthy sun-laden cheerful dinkum Aussie lads had nothing to do with it ...
Why, they were pure Gallipoli, teaching those bloody turks a lesson ...
Why, they were pure Gallipoli, teaching those bloody turks a lesson ...
Now after this fair average assortment of hysteria, prejudice and bile, the pond would usually hand out an Oreo or three ...
... and that would be the end of it, but this day the pond has another epic double bunger serve, thanks be unto the rarely appearing Henry "there's a hole in the bucket" Ergas speaking on the very same matter ...
Now Henry usually speaks on solemn economic matters, so the pond's earth truly did move this day ...
Indeed, indeed, and if we might just take a break from Henry, using sawdust to repair that hole in the bucket, please allow the pond to solve the matter of why things went wrong in the Catholic church ...
Damn you bloody feminists, damn you to an eternity of hellfire, you whores who refuse to be madonnas ...
And so on and so forth.
The silly old bugger - well it would have to be a 'he' wouldn't it, trading under the nick of 'Catholic Knight' - because you know the crusades were soooh great - gave up blogging back in 2013, but his detritus still litters the full to overflowing intertubes here ... and it goes on and on, before ending up with this heart-felt plea ...
And so on and so forth.

Silly sipper of actual blood and muncher of actual flesh, but enough of cannibalism, it's time to get back to the sawdust man, and check on progress with his hole in the bucket ...
Indeed, indeed, and yet Henry draws back from the obvious solution.
Ban Catholicism and Tony Abbott, and social cohesion will immediately be improved!
Remembering how many tykes there are in the land and the lizard Oz newspaper, up against a humble 2½% if census data is in any way reliable, as opposed to providing an identity key allowing names to be linked to all sorts of data ...

Never mind, that's what happens when tedium and a double bunger overwhelms the pond ... first the nodding off, and then the dream of being woken by a loud bang ...
As for the rest, feminism triumphant and patriarchal religions defeated, and the Oreo just a biscuit, and that hole filled by sawdust, the pond will just have to go on dreaming of past victories and hope for future ones ...
Actually Mr Fradd, if the pond may be so bold, why don't you go ahead and try on a mantilla?
Do a little cross-dressing and take a walk on the wild side, and all that it entails.
Otherwise these days your two cents isn't worth a dime ...
The most the pond will do is provide a link here ... and patiently explain that there was once a movie that exposed the dire, unintended consequences of too much head covering ...
Does that help explain the Oreo and the Henry? Maybe, maybe not, the pond just reports and others decide ...
Hi Dorothy,
ReplyDeleteOne of Ken Russell's better attempts;

DW
Oh well, better late than never, or so the EVIL LEFT tells me, to recognise a couple of fine lines from the reptiles.
ReplyDeleteFrom Moorice, we have:
"...the Jacobin belief in legislation's capacity to reshape society by decree has, once again, provoked a spate of unintended consequences."
I guess Moorice would have thus tried to counsel the Jacobin inspired Johnnie Howard back in 2004 when he pushed the man-woman marriage exclusivity definition into the Marriage Act and the Family Law act. And Moorice would have right, of course, just look at what's happening to Libs now - they've become EVIL LEFTIES who are still supporting the Safe Schools horror.
As for The Oreole, well:
"The burkini ban provides a convenient distraction from the incompetence of Europe's socialist leaders on matters of national security and immigration."
So there you have it: EVIL LEFTIES yet again. Well, unless Angela Merkel is only leader of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany as a disguise - she was born and raised in a communist state after all.
