Scott Ryan, John Howard, Bob Merciless Ming Menzies, and the joys of photoshop for erasing the woes of time and the frailties of history ...

Above: Scott Ryan in ecstatic rhapsody as he recalls the sixtieth anniversary in Australian politics: Menzies: the most important win in our history.

Never mind the way current Liberals like Scott Ryan keep looking back with yearning to the glorious past.

Cop a geek at the photo added for illustrative purposes, and captioned John Howard with his hero in the 1970s, without a hint of post modernist irony, photoshop allusiveness, or photoshop evocation of the glory days bringing two titans together in the virtual world for a celebration of their shared political past and values, in a way no real camera could manage.

Nope. Just another piece of mis-leading spurious digital clutter to fool kids with no sense of history, assembled by The Punch, Australia's most mis-leading and deviant conversation.

No need to blame Ryan or his harping back to past glories.

But will someone at The Punch bother to correct the error, if only by improving the egregious caption?

Oh by the way, here's John Howard in December 1973, being congratulated by his wife Janette after winning Liberal party pre-selection for Bennelong.

By golly, he had a fine crop of hair back then!

Yep, for gee hockey sticks ain't it a whizz photoshop stupidity and perversity, The Punch is right up there with the worst of the blogs.

Well done Chairman Rupert's minions.

Now where's Media Watch when you need them? Oh that's right the ABC's socialists go on holidays for two and a half months every year.

Bonus: John Howard in 1983 campaigning in Gladesville, by doing a Don Dunstan and wearing a safari suit, once de rigueur gear for the consummate snappy dressing politician.

Look on it sweet young things, and marvel and wonder at the follies of your elders. Never let them tell you they dressed better, because they lie. Keep this photo handy to chide them for their deviant ways.
