In which the pond exposes the Major exposing … well you knew it had to be the ABC ...

Sometimes, in fact daily, the reptiles can't help but show their true colours … like almost every word the Major has scribbled or edited since his famous hunt for the lost Order of Lenin medal resulted in a tremendous scoop …

Regular devotees of the reptiles will be familiar with the way that an ABC sighting sends them into velociraptor mode … while  a mere mention of unions brings out the T-Rex in them … and the resulting cross-bred mix of rage and anger produces a fearsome beast …

Rage on, fearsome beast ...

Say what? The pond's takeaway from this splendid Major Mitchell opening is that Cardinal Pell is guilty …

"Does Faine, for example, think Cardinal Pell has been cleared of those charges dropped against him?"

Put it another way. Does the Major think Cardinal Pell is guilty as hell of the charges dropped against him?

Ah, the search for the Order of Lenin medal goes on and on, and takes most unusual forms, and it's clear enough that the Major has discovered Julia Gillard's fondness for wearing them …

But please allow the pond to pause for a moment because the reptiles were agog with yet another fife and drum attack on the ABC …

The pond was entranced.

There it was in black and white, certified by the reptiles as true: "Fifield attacks ABC independence," thereby suggesting that (a) the ABC was independent, and (b) its independence was being attacked by a typically corrupt, blustering, bully boy head kicking partisan coalition politician.

Who knew the reptiles were so caring? Take it away DD ...

Indeed, it's an incredibly grave and serious matter, and the reptiles did a little break-out box for the lesser Mitch's whine ...

On and on DD went, it being a perfect opportunity to do the sort of ABC litany that the reptiles love to do ...

To say the pond was appalled was an understatement, so naturally it turned to the reptiles' digital giveaway site for confirmation of the way that the ABC had got it so badly wrong ...

Nooooh …

Oh dear, Malcolm Farr, please present yourself to the headmaster's office for six of the best …

Or should the pond insist you present yourself to Major Mitchell, to have the epaulettes ripped off your shoulders, as you're drummed from the service, cashiered in shame, booted out to the solemn sound of drums and fife … the strife of Fifield life …

And as the world has revolved, and the Major has been mentioned again, it's only fitting and proper to run the rest of the Major's piece … still rabbiting on about Gillard, still carrying on in an obsessive compulsive way, and yet not pausing to consider why anyone with a remote connection to reality considers the reptiles dangerously obsessed, worse even than Marxists given to celebrate Karl's wisdom ...

Comments are now closed on this article?

The comments were always closed, and it's easy enough to see why and sometimes it has to be said … because while parrots can be beguiling in a way, you wouldn't want to let them near anything precious, the way their beaks tear into things and tear them apart …

What a despicable, relentless grub the Major is, with his hints and his innuendoes and his insinuations, digging over old, stale ground like the gravedigger in Hamlet, but without half the wit … and while he flourishes his skulls and his skeletons, he still hasn't found that damned Order of Lenin medal …not to mention anything other than the usual gossip and slander about Gillard ...

Talking of ancient history, has the pond been running Pope cartoons since before 2014? Sure has …

Has the ABC been a recurring theme amongst politicians and reptiles? Sure has …and here's hoping he's back on the job tomorrow … with David Rowe resting, the pond gets restless for a cartoon fix, and the peace of mind needed for reptile and galah handling ...

  1. Since the Major seems determined to flick the switch to nostalgia (or drift off into senile reverie), perhaps it's time for he and Piers Akerman to revisit the Heiner Affair? Or, failing that, the Khemlani loans affair?

    1. Very deserving cases, both of them. And, suspicion on top of suspicion, Manning Clark and Khemlani both died in 1991 !

  2. The reptiles and their fellow travellers, hangers-on and wannabees are an unique subspecies: they simply cannot ever let go of something they've read or heard or even thought of if it is down and dirty on their imagined enemies.

And, of course, the population of enemies just keeps on growing - and once you've been added to the roll then no matter how hard you try to check out, you can never leave - their entire world is just one big Hotel California.

So, when he's not disgorging about Manning Clark, Mitchell is totally entrapped by Gillard, Wilson and Blewitt. Oh how it must be agonising that all charges were dropped - but that clearly isn't going to prevent The Maj from convicting them all.

  3. What a bloody parasite this pest is he tries to rewrite history with rumor and innuendo. The problem with the way these grubs work is they are supported by the legal profession and some of the arseholes like Mclelland who got into parliament because his oldman was a member of the labor government back in the seventies.
How would you know if Ludwick ever asked this prick to do anything about union money because they would say anything and do anything to spread lies.
Because they supported the invasion of Iraq they have no intention of ever questioning the little war criminal politics is played to the death in Australia and hopefully it will see these bloody mongrels hit the greave early on so if labor win the next election they will have a royal commission into Murdoch and his family so we can show Australians how crooked this family has been in the way they have set up the IPA that train their stooges to enter parliament.
This has not served Australia well to have such a megalomaniac controlling what is said to be a free press when Murdoch can oversee how politics are discussed and reported on and they have the cheek to criticise China.

  4. Blessings to the Major!

This week was not one of his "press is in a wonderful position in the market columns" was it?

Fittingly really, as buried way in the back of the dead tree Media section, the news that the Tele is down 17% on print editions. An excellent sign of good mental health in NSW is the only sure conclusion I can draw.

Onwards Major! The battle against the ABC is all the counts now. Hurrah!
