In which the pond does a Friday potpourri .. let no one say they weren't warned ...

What better way to start off a Friday potpourri than the New Yorker's Looking for Life on a Flat Earth … but luckily there's absolutely nothing to say except what's in the read ...

Speaking of science in the day of the Donald and the lizard Oz, for a terrible, dreadful moment, the reptiles made a wretched mistake, peddling climate propaganda, but a vigilant reader was on to them like a flash …

Indeed, indeed, the truth is coming out ..

It's simply impossible for a flat earth to warm up … and as for the reptiles' shocking, outrageous crime, they fell for BOM foolishness …

What's this idle, insolent talk of warm and records? Where's Lloydie when he's needed? Is poor Moorice, only a day old, already forgotten? How are we getting BOM news rather than talk of octopi from outer space?

Speaking of snowflakes, the pond was bemused by this exchange …

Poor old precious petal Jim. How silly did he manage to sound?

WTF? He asked his Facebook followers? The dreaded social media? The pond thought it should send Jim a year's supply of wet lettuce so he might give that heavily accented Doug a daily spanking … but as the earth is flat, why bother …

And so to the preeminent nutter let loose by the Speccie mob today. The pond never thought it would go there again, but as the best the reptiles have got is the oscillating fan giving Pauline Hanson a hard time with a wet lettuce leaf, why not?

And what's so bemusing about this?

Well this very same day the reptiles brought news of our very own west-walking Star Wars Luke …

This when the state is confronted by the worst coalition government since the last shockingly bad Labor government …

Most people would expect this skywalker to need to do nothing except turn up at the next poll, collect the votes, romp home, and get on with the urgent business of fucking up Sydney, but he can't even manage to do that … and a sure sign of how low he's sunk is that he's got Mark "the arm-breaker" Latham covering his back …

As for the arm-breaker, the pond was curiously reminded of a remark made about Lord Lawson, a Brexiter keen to stay in his mansion in Francee …as noted in the Graudian here ..

Peter Timmins, who describes himself on Twitter as a “blissfully retired European, living life to the full in the south-west of France” said of the Tory peer: “Lord Lawson, the pro-#Brexit peer who lives in France but wants to deny other UK citizens the right to freely work or retire here, has applied for a carte de séjour to facilitate permanent settled status post #Brexit. One rule for him another for the rest. Merde va te faire foutre.”

Yes, Merde va te faire foutre covers it nicely in a Gallic way, so it's on with the merde …

Indeed, indeed. The pond fancies that the best way to build a good society through trust and cooperation is to break a few arms. That should keep people in line, and full of trust and cooperation …

In some ways, the arm-breaker peaked too soon. How much better it would have been if he'd been able to transform the Labor party into his world view, with a firm handshake, a glare in the eye, and a few broken arms here and there …

Why instead of a wanna-be loser member of the Speccie mob, he could have become a Donald down under …

Finally, the pond should note that the free market, anti-regulation, smaller government reptiles have discovered a new EXCLUSIVE cause …

Oh merde, snowflakes, are you precious and worried by Facebook, logarithms and the whole damn thing?

Here, this'll fix what ails ya …

And now as the Donald has once more managed to get into the flat earth climate science Friday mix, a few more Donald cartoons, with the first an inspiration for the arm-breaker as he relaxes on his life-time parliamentary pension …

  1. There's just no way to keep a good turd down, is there. He will always float to the top again, especially in the Speccie cesspit.

  2. Seriously? Latham says that "the things that rednecks and racists used to say about black people are now being said repetitively about whites". Can he really be such a thickee? Or is he willing to say anything to feel relevant and get some attention?

First there is no 'used to say'; rednecks and racists still say these things. They continue to demonstrate ignorance and a lack of decency by denigrating black and brown people and various other colours and types of people that they don't like, using discredited ideas and flawed assumptions that they rely on to believe in the superiority of white people and the perfection of white 'civilisation'.

And also, it is simply not true that white people are being denigrated by 'the Left' in the way that racists and rednecks denigrate people they don't like.

Latham is such a snowflake, like Jim Molan, so easily offended and it is pathetic or laughable that he can compare the criticism that is being made now about white men like him and assert that this is in any way as virulent and soul destroying as the verbal and physical violence that the racists and rednecks have and continue to direct at black people.

    1. Well, FWIW, some perspective on a reptile:

"If a person is a show-off, it is only because he feels inferior because he does not feel strong enough to compete with others on the useful side of life. That is why he stays on the useless side. He is not in harmony with society. It seems to be a trait of human nature that when individuals – both children and adults – feel weak, they want to solve the problems of life in such a way as to obtain personal superiority without any admixture of social interest. A superiority complex is a second phase. It is a compensation for the inferiority [feeling] complex."
