Up for as long as the link lasts … and here for more WaPo fun ...
The best review? "A word salad topped with gratuitous appeasement of a monstrous regime …"
Finally "surreal" fails completely as a word.
And so to today's reptile business ...
And so to today's reptile business ...
It seems that a rift is developing in reptile land.
When the pond left the dog botherer yesterday, he was whining and moaning at the way deviants refused to celebrate the glories and the triumphs of the Donald, and yet today the bromancer is doubling down, repeating his saucy doubts and fears … and he's been blessed with the Lobbecke of the day, and what's more, the favourite cartoonist of reptile cultists has dared to show the tiny Donald with tiny paws confronted by a North Korean giant …
Naturally the pond had to pay attention …
...John Bolton stands by Trump as his national security adviser. Before joining the Trump administration, the ultra-hardline Bolton advocated taking military action against North Korea. In the past, Bolton has said that he would never allow North Korea to betray the United States, claiming that anyone who was deceived by North Korea twice has only himself to blame.
While the two leaders have now met and shaken hands, minor provocations during future negotiations between lower level officials of the two nations for the denuclearization process could serve as the trigger to destroy the latest agreement.
The leaders of the two nations managed to engineer a historic meeting, but the overriding impression that remains is that the United States and North Korea now stand at a crossroads between peace and war.
Naturally the pond had to pay attention …
Indeed, indeed, and the Donald has found friends he's got such an affinity with … unlike the wretches he left behind ...
It's probably past time for the dog botherer to take the bromancer out behind the back shed and beat some sense into him in a manly way …for some peculiar reason, the bromancer thinks the Chinese might be laughing all the way to the banquet ...
Take that, dog botherer, and while we're at it, take a few more cartoons ...
Around this point, the pond must note that it has absolutely no control or influence over the bromancer, a bit like the handlers trying to wrangle the Donald.
All this is his own work, these are his own thoughts … treacherous and treasonous as they are ...
Actually there's another option that the bromancer hasn't canvassed yet. Full credit to John Bolton's team for producing that epic trailer … and perhaps he's playing a deep game.
What if the North Koreans frustrate the Donald, the petulant child man decides to bung on a do, and Bolton gets his often expressed wish?

Don't take that thought from the pond, take it from Asahi …

And with that cheerful thought, it's time for a cheerful Pope, with more cheerios here ...
So, the famous and much-derided trailer. Superficial and banal? Sure. Likely to have been watched and sort-of comprehended by more Americans than yet another grotesque press conference? Duh. The media remind me of that scene where Bill Murray steps off the sidewalk into the icy puddle. Populism ain’t called populist for nothing.
ReplyDeleteSays the Bromancer: "...Kim got past the moment when it looked as though Trump might attack"
ReplyDeleteBut then he also goes on to say: "I have argued that you should judge Trump by what he does rather than what he says ..."
Ok then, but Trump does an awful lot of talking big and acting small. I mean, what has Trump actually done in his presidency ? So who believes that Trump would actually "attack" ? And if he did order either nuking North Korea or a massive conventional ground attack with troops (and it would have to be truly massive given the number of North Koreans in the country's military - "20 or 30 million lives" according to Trump), would the US military obey ? I certainly hope not.
But then good ol' Bro adds this: "Trump so often behaves like a bully..." More like a wannabee bully than an actual one, I would have thought, but the sentiment is right on, Bro.
Also, from the Bro: "North Korea will surely string out this "denuclearisation" process long after Trump's term has ended."
Indeed, and long after Trump's life has ended too, yes ?
So, in summary, Kim achieved the whole of his ambit claim while Trump, the "great negotiator" hasn't a clue as to what an ambit claim is.
