In which the world's greatest climate scientist has faith in America and the pond spends quality time with a dissembling WSJ fool ...

The pond is aware that the holyday season might be disrupted by alarmist talk of ethics and intelligence and Russians and multifaceted cyber assaults and such like... as in this Graudian story here ...

Even the reptile editorialist seems to have caught a dose of this spiteful seasonal spirit ...

Never mind the embrace of Putin, it's the embrace of Assange that seems to have stopped the reptiles relaxing on their hot rock in their hipster Surry Hills haven and got them scribbling a troubled editorial ...

Troubling?

The reptiles are troubled?

Relax, Moorice is at hand, and never mind the BOM's yearly report on the state of the climate, the world's greatest climate scientist is here to set things right ...

Have faith children, and gather unto Maurice to listen unto his wise words ... because faith will move mountains and perhaps even fix the planet ...

Now by this point some might be wondering what the difference will be between an authoritarian Trump using Twitter as a powerful weapon of intimidation - where are the house Republicans and their ethics gutting now? - and an authoritarian Chinese leader ...

And they might wonder at the argument being presented ... go Trump, because China?

This might just as well be ... go Adolf or Benito, because Stanley Baldwin, James Ramsey MscDonald  or Neville Chamberlain ...

But that's the infinite cleverness of the world's greatest climate scientist.

Don't actually talk about Trumpism, just hand wring and stomp the foot about the Chinese and all will be well if we have faith in the United States ...

Indeed, as the wise Chinese proverbialist warned, it's much better to put a Maurice foot in your mouth, and one up your bum, and if you have one spare, use it to pound the keyboard for a story for the lizard Oz ...

Meanwhile, anyone who managed to wade through Maurice's epic insights might have been distracted by this old news, recycled in what seems the new Oz house style - Huff borrowing and bludging down under ...

The pond didn't bother with the recycling and instead cut to the chase and the WSJ source ...

Now anybody who was paying attention will know Baker's answer, a sublime example of the quisling, the prat, the equivocator, dissimulator, the mountebank, the phony and the four flusher fraud ...

'Lies'? They felt the need to put inverted commas around 'lie'? As if an honest outright lie, a shameless fib, shouldn't be honoured with that good old-fashioned word?

If ever there was a clearer explanation as to why the American media was unable to deal with the Trumpian phenomenon, the pond has yet to see it ...

Untrue? Untruthful? Truthful statement?

He tells lies, routinely and with intent. He is a serial liar. To cite just one obvious example, his behaviour in relation to birtherism was routinely fraudulent and with a deep, malicious, racist intent ... if that's not a deliberate intent to mislead, what is? Could it really be dressed up as sublime, perverse, wilful ignorance and stupidity?

What's so hard about using a decent, honest ancient English Judeo-Catholic or Anglo Celtic Germanic word (words inserted to comfort the Donners) which is to the point and cuts to the chase?

Dress it dictionary style how you will, he's a compulsive twittering lyger. That's half his appeal, that and the delusional notion that he'll fix everything ...

Yet here we have a WSJ heavy pandering, brownnosing, stroking, cajoling, massaging and soap sudsing in a way that he no doubt imagines is politic and wise ...

So let's get back to the whopping equivocations and dissembling nonsense of the first water ...

And that, in a nutshell, is why the American media is morally bankrupt, incompetent, and completely incapable of dealing with the Trump phenomenon, the remarkable failure of politicians on both sides of the aisle, and the various forms of fundamentalism that flourish in the United States ...

Well the least that the pond can do is call Mr Baker a fool, another honourable word ...

Well there's another honest hard working Judeo-Catholic*, Anglo Celtic or perhaps Latinate word in the dictionary (*inserted to ward off Gramsci and keep the Donners happy) and speaking of fools, didn't the Daily Terrorists excel themselves this day with an exceptional example of monstrous stupidity?

Is this what they're peddling as clickbait these days?

Instead of draining the swamp, the reptiles are lining up with HSBC to pocket the cash and ride the wave?

Well if it's time for a surf, the pond would rather head out on the board with the infallible Pope, and it's easy to surf over here  for more Popery ...

  1. Ah! The Little Book of Calm.
Just one quibble with that Pope - the arse-kisser is on the board.

    1. Hmm, well there's a certain amount of arse-kissing of Putin and Assange going on too. Trump is really quite typical: ares-kick down, arse-lick up. Which I daresay is why the onion-muncher has a sizeable tin of "unction" at his disposal.

But look at Trump's left ear: is that meant to be somebody ? If so, whom ?

  2. B4 everyone gets over enthusiastic about the future prospects of the entire world in general and the USA in particular I would suggest they read the essay by James Kunstler on his Clusterfuck Nation website titled Forecast - 2017 The Wheels Finally Come Off.
If he is correct in his prognosis a lot of shit is going to hit the fan in 2017 and the next few years.
