In which the pond concedes it might have made a dreadful mistake in the matter of Akker Dakker ...

The pond was idly flicking through the greatest hits of Akker Dakker in 2017, when it suddenly realised it might have made a terrible, mortifying mistake ...

Now everyone knows the idle comparison of Mitch McConnell to a turtle ... cut to idle Sunday montage ...

Talk about an animal totem.

And for years in that honourable spirit, the pond had always thought of Akker Dakker as being at one with Bunter ... cue idle Sunday montage of a Bunterish ACDC ...

But what if the pond had made a terrible mistake, and there had been a grotesque miscarriage of justice?

What if Akker Dakker's animal totem was in fact the cane toad, or bufo marinus if you will?

Surely the bufo contains hints of buffoon and bigot, and as for a pictorial comparison ...

It's alarmingly possible that the pond has made a dreadful mistake ... and if so profusely apologises to readers and to Billy Bunter enthusiasts and to the yaroop garooh fat owl himself ...

But moving right along, as we must all do, it's time for a Sunday Akker Dakker meditation ... and first please allow the pond to reheat a tasty small portion of last week's leftover column.

Put it in the magic science oven, and watch it zing ...

A model of inclusiveness? It's never been about ripping off Palestinians and booting them out into the cold?

Do you really want to know what the pond thinks?

That Akker Dakker is barking mad, and barking offensive to boot, the only appealing thing about him being the reflexive irony of his talk of hate, when he's a fine old hand at hate speech himself ...

No doubt a few hoppy cane toads of hate will pop out in this week's opus ...

Yes, that has the echo of Trumpism.

Blame intelligence services for an Indonesian general wandering off the reservation and going a little troppo ...

Possibly the same sort of eccentric form as Akker Dakker routinely supplies the Terrorist readership. And now for a goodly dose of Akker Dakker hate and bile ...

Yep, there we go.

Note the resemblance of the fundamentalist Akker Dakker to the fundamentalist Daesh or the fundamentalist Islamic.

The other, the different, are to be hated and demonised and joked about ...which, it has to be said, helps explain why the pond is quite happy to compare Akker Dakker to a cane toad. Well it's better than shouting at him to fuck off when it comes to complimentary women, gays and TG folk ...

Sure it's defamatory of the average humble toad, but sometimes animals must suffer, so that the ethos of hate can find an all-inclusive home ...

Indeed, indeed, and here in Australia extremist fundamentalists of the Murdochian kind spring up and goad the comparatively easygoing secularists and lovers of the lucky country into hate against the alien, the other and the outsider.

As Murdochian outbursts routinely show, there is a market for flag-waving nationalism and there are many prepared to forego tolerant 'live and let live' secularism for the more intolerant forms of fundamentalist Xianity ...

We're going to see a lot more of that oi, oi, oi nonsense in the weeks ahead as we build up to an orgy of oism ...

Now for our last gobbet, let's cope a dose of the dope snorter pretending to go all pious and doling out that fundamentalism with a flourish of sickening piety, mingled with a generous dose of fear-mongering and a hint of incipient Judeo-Christian flag-waving ...

Indeed, indeed, Xians everywhere under attack.

Only recently it came to the pond's notice that the BBC, that disgraceful institution, had been mocking Xians with this sort of click bait ...

Well there's more here and it's a meme now, and Hugo, who has a dry sense of humour - never shaken, always stirred - must be loving it ...

And now, since the pond likes to end with a little visual refreshment, this is for those who think ancient Esquire cartoons were funny. Are you worried your taste and sensa huma is a little too much of the Akker Dakker ethos?

Well it's not quite the same as mocking TG people, but this was the 1950s ... so complimentary women were much funnier ...

  1. Meanwhile, according to a probably conservative under-estimate the peace-loving "christian" West dropped 26,000 bombs on various Islamic countries in 2016.
We have also been bombing an Islamic country almost every day for decades now.
Referring to McLuhan what kind of message (the "medium is the message") are those thousands of bombs communicating to the individual and collective Islamic mind.
Are they supposed to accept that systematic terror and all of its "collateral damage" too, with individual and collective Stoic equanimity.

We of course don't do terror, do we.
