In which our Gracie makes Australia and the lizard Oz grate again ...

What an irresistible juxtaposition on the digital front page of the reptile Oz this day.

Our caring Sussan off to visit patients, when suddenly and unexpectedly dropping a lazy 795k on a unit, thereby explaining how the "suss" got into Sussan ... though to be fair the pond routinely drops minor sums on apartments whenever it visits toad land ...

And lo, there up above our Suss is our Gracie, explaining how the Donald is going to leave poor old Malware behind ...

It seems Australia is at risk of being left behind wherever and however it turns ...

Well the pond has no need to delve into that Business Insider story. In the usual shameless way of recyclers these days, that was a piece in the The Conversation, which can be found here ..

Besides, when our Gracie talks of making Australia great again, the pond jumps to attention ... and that Google splash seems to hint there might be a Steve Bisley/Big Steal/Alexander Downer/put on the stilettos illustration ...

What's wondrous about this is the way that - just as in George W.'s days - the reptiles seem to have entirely forgotten about the deficit, which in the US is humming along nicely ... and never mind the total debt, ballooning daily, out of control, and talk of balancing budgets long gone, and the Donald anxious to piss yuge amounts of money against and on the wall, matters military and many other areas ...

Of course the Donald is about to preside over other deficits too, like the comedy deficit ...

But one thing's certain ... there won't be a Twitter deficit ...

Poor old Arnie in response tried to sound statesmanlike and above the fray ...

Silly old Arnie ... there's a Twitter war going on ... and no one is safe ...

And if that ... the whole Twitter thing and Mexico working to a lay-by plan which should see it pick up the wall by next Christmas along with the Chrisco hampers they peddle to mug punters ... isn't weird enough, there was another skirmish going down ...

A cool judgement is needed?

But how will that make the United States grate again?

Never mind, it was a clear call for the return of the siren song of our Gracie, and never mind the deficit ... the lower the taxes, the higher the deficit the better, and sssh, please don't mention Ireland in 2008 ...

He knows no fear?

Is that the same as our Gracie not knowing her own stupidity?

Trump is about to build America a grand future via Twitter?

One Nation has the policies we need to follow? Should we also adopt their stance on a flat earth and climate science?

It's a come to Jesus, come to our Gracie moment? If that's the case, the pond feels a song coming on ...

Well the future might come crashing down around our heads, but it's as likely that this result will arise from following the Trumpists, as not following them ...

Ah the art of the deal and the art of distracting attention from the Ruskis ...

Well it's a two way street in that Twitter war ...

Strange times indeed ... talk about a lot of surreal fascist flummadiddle ...

And if this doesn't get the pond a dictionary mention, nothing will ...

The rest of that story with hot links at the Graudian here, and now just to round out that Suss Ley matter, David Rowe has drawn, which is much better than spoken, and those seeking more Rowe drawings can find them here ...

  1. Hi Dorothy,

    If you are interested in how “well connected” Trump is with colourful characters from the Former Soviet States I would strongly recommend reading this piece;

    http://www.the-american-interest.com/2016/12/19/the-curious-world-of-donald-trumps-private-russian-connections/

Just like dear Gracie, Trumps’ “business associates” are very fond of tax havens and the opportunities they afford to wash their money till it’s squeaky clean.

Are Collier and the Oreo in some sort of race to determine which is the more delusional? Or is each scheming to displace Dame Slap or the Not -So-Divine Miss M from their positions at the top of the herpetarium?

    1. Our Gracie has made a very strong start to the year ... it's now up to Dame Slap to assert her position of dominance by going ever more Planet Janet lunar ... because, sad to say, in the pond's judgement the Divine will always be a try hard tabloid fear monger of the lower, baser kind ...
