In which the reptiles chant dinkum Oz coal oi, oi, oi one more time ...

The pond is mortified and apologises for that Cash-like brain snap at lunchtime …

But here's the thing … when the reptiles get on to their dinkum Oz clean coal oi oi oi routine, the pond tunes out …

Sometimes enduring a Lomborg or a Lloydie is just too much ...

Take the bouffant one getting into the spirit with his own version of the lizard Oz dinkum clean Oz coal chant, oi, oi, oi … someone, please take him …

First up there's the naked, patent absurdity that the reptiles give a flying fuck about traditional Labor values … except to trash them …

Then there's always some distracting detail that gets the pond going …

Not the 10,000 jobs routine …

And worse, not even a bold claim, but rather a mealy-mouthed "it is claimed" routine …

The pond has been there before, remarkably by visiting the lizards in their lair …

Now, thanks to the bouffant one, the pond has to trudge down memory lane and do it all over again …

Now it's true that this also revives fond memories of that deep northern loon, gorgeous George …

Lock him up, lock him up …

But why do we have to keep trudging down the actual path of actual data …

Sheesh, it's easy to see why the pond would prefer a movie to all this chatter about jobs.

Movies and movie references are everywhere, appealing to bubbleheads and popcorn addicts ...

Lock him up, lock him up ...

Meanwhile, on another planet ...

And that's why the pond sometimes has to take a break, leave the bouffant one to his "it is claimed" claims, and take in a movie…

And now, as gorgeous George and guns have been mentioned, here, have a cartoon in lieu of more popcorn ..

  1. Not sure what this fuss is about. As I understood it, Shorten's position was that the project shouldn't go ahead if it didn't stack up on commercial or environmental grounds. It's not much different to Truffle's business case argument that he trots out when it suits him.

Virtually the first comment I read on the Carmichael project stated that, based on Adani's own (very optimistic) figures, the project was very marginal at best. The prospects have only got worse since that time as evidenced by the lack of financial backers. The ALP probably hoped that the project would simply fall over of it's own accord without them having to lift a finger.

As with most matters reptile, the basic facts tend to contradict their argument so they try to frame this as some sort tribal conflict - greens versus workers, left verses right. A mindless confrontation with an old enemy.

  2. Hi BF,

The 800 pound gorilla in the room are the people who hoped to get even more filthy rich piggybacking on the infrastructure that Carmichael Mine opened up by government funded Adani.

That’s Barnaby backer Gina Rinehart and GVK who entertained a few pollies at a very expensive wedding.
