The reptiles are keeping up their trolling, and this Sunday produced a very nice try ... mocking Tesla, telling us to fear China, Economist-style, no doubt because the Donald is such a wise, rational alternative, and trotting out the bromancer to savage the ABC for hubris and bullying ...
... because when it comes to talk of hubris and bullying, make sure you call on an expert Murdochian practitioner of the art ...
... because when it comes to talk of hubris and bullying, make sure you call on an expert Murdochian practitioner of the art ...
But when it comes to pot and kettle on a Sunday, the pond's heart is with the Sunday Terror.
Akker Dakker might have disappeared, but that still leaves petulant Peta and Miranda the Devine ...
Akker Dakker might have disappeared, but that still leaves petulant Peta and Miranda the Devine ...
Say what? Where's petulant Peta? Ah, there she is ...
Phew, that's a relief, because the pond hit upon the idea of a great challenge for the petulant one this Sunday ...
Discuss at length leadership in the Liberal party, but don't mention the onion muncher by name ...
See how petulant Peta displays spectacular form in rising to the pond's challenge.
Not one mention of the onion muncher by name, just a note that Malware is a dud, a fizza, and a mournful wondering why people have lost faith in politics, without a single thought as to the spectacular role the onion muncher and petulant Peta might have played in the loss of faith and the rise of atheism ...

But could she maintain the form?
Oh dear ...
A glaring, glowering onion muncher, and the quisling spineless Malware signing his death warrant because of all that nonsense about climate science ... and the wounded base suffering, and poor hurt Peta put upon and consequently petulant all the time ...
Get with coal, or get lost ... because conversations are being had ...
What an admirable effort. One of the facilitators of the worst Prime Ministerships in recent history moaning about the loss of faith in the political class, while hinting at more Liberal follies to come, courtesy of the onion muncher, and blathering about ambitious political players spinning lines and lazy journalists regurgitating them and talking of common mere gossip, while producing a gossipy bunch of hints and shrieks and wails and cries for the Sunday Terror ...
Is there any wonder that petulant Peta continues to exist, apart from offering Dame Slap a wondrous target?

The pond reached for a Moir, with Moir proposing a deal here ...
And so to the Devine, with her own demons to fry ...
Now the Devine this day is a peculiar form of fluff-gathering and navel-gazing, of a kind beloved by New South Wales fundamentalist Liberals ...
Not your average cream puff Liberal, but your barking mad ones, of the Steve Bannon kind, that want to throw it all up in the air in the name of democracy ... the ones who think that Cory Bernardi is their sort of conservative...
You know, the bigoted, barking mad, truly Devine ones, who love to splash a little of the essence ...
The pond has no dog in this fight, but all the same loves to watch the dogs fight ... and by golly the Devine knows how to eye-gouge and play dirty ...
Tremendous fun, and one of the requirements for participation is the notion that the barking mad Jim Molan was dudded, when any rational person might think that not having Molan blather on in the senate was something of a quiet relief ...
Molan, seen far to often on their ABC, has turned into a hardline gadfly, getting himself involved in the factional wars, and lining up with the onion muncher, as noted by the savvy Savva back in July ...
September 15 has long past - how time flies when the Liberals are having fun - but it's only the date that has shifted, not the deep hate in the heart and the thirst for revenge and blood on the floor ...
The Devine is on high alert for a rumble in the jungle on 9th December ... when the war on Xmas will have to call a truce, so that the real war can begin ... the war between the onion muncher and Malware, conducted by proxy at the moment, but soon to get real...
Hah. As if talk of Xmas could distract the Liberals from the deep hate in their heart.
What's really whimsical and amusing is the way that the Devine lumps all the responsibility for the current war on to Malware ... as if the onion muncher and his maddie mates had nothing to do with the state of play ...
This, after all, is about getting rid of any moderating influence or any moderates in the party, so that the Liberals can gaily galumph off to match Cory in his bestial extremism ...
To save the Liberal party, it must be destroyed, or at least Devined ...
Preston Manning is a Cory Bernardi type? Who knew ...
The pond can't wait for Cory to get a bee in his bonnet about green conservatism ...
They really do things differently in Canada, the pond has noticed it since watching the CBC news on the Shield.
They really do things differently in Canada, the pond has noticed it since watching the CBC news on the Shield.
And now in the usual way, Justin Trudeau is in charge, and the jockeying has begun to replace him, if the pond's across the Pacific "loonie politics" correspondent is to be trusted.
The pond understands the Devine's game, which is to use Cory as an ogre, a big, frightening, terrifying stick, so scary that the Liberal party will become just like Cory in order to defeat him ... and as a result, the party will be truly Devined ...
Well the pond has been there recently with that never-ending documentary series ...
... though it really was a misnomer to call it The Vietnam War...
What would Ming the Merciless think, to discover that in the first five episodes Australia has been mentioned twice in terse sentences, and one was a misplaced reference to dinks (no we're not talking of dinking on bikes or demographic DINK status) when presumably what was meant was 'chink' ...
Where were we? Ah that's right, destroying the Liberal party to save it ...
But if all that happens, the planet will be Coried and Devined, just like it has been in the United States ...
What fun if the spineless Malware does nothing, and MAD becomes the nuclear option for the Liberal party ... with petulant Peta and Miranda the Devine in the front line cheering on the destruction ...
Pet. Peta: "...a serious political commentator told me that he was convinced that Australia as we knew it was gone..."
ReplyDeleteWell, whaddya know ? I know that:
1. the Australia I knew in the 1950s is gone - and just as well too as it was a tribalist, sexist, mysogynistic time dominated by 'The Right'; and,
2. the Australia I knew in the 1960s is gone - and though the Sixties was a time of the beginning of awakening, I'm sure glad that time is over; and,
3. the Australia I knew in the Seventies is gone and just as well too. way too much mucking about for too little progress. Also Jim Cairns, Rex Connor and Tirath Khemlani; and,
4. the Australia I knew in the Eighties is gone, and that's just as well too, we really didn't want Keating (and Hawke ?) going totally neoliberal econorat and flogging off everything that coudn't seek refugee asylum; and.
5. the Australia I knew in the Nineties is gone, and the Commonwealth Bank is gone with it. Also, a world without the web is gone and good riddance (though I'm still sentimental about Fidonet); and,
6. the worlld I knew in the Noughties is on the way out too.
Just remember Pet. Pet, that "the past is a foreign country, they do things differently there." And you know, Pet, the future is too !
Be sure to pass that wisdom on to your "serious political commentator", won't you..
The Devine: "... and his [Photios'] business rakes in a reported $25,000 a month..."
ReplyDeleteOh wau, that's a real oligarch for you: he "rakes' in $300,000 per year ! Amazing - that's even more than Goosebumps Cater gets from Dept Finance in a year. Yep, that'd pay for a "seven-bedroom mansion in Rose Bay" wouldn't it.
As with all that passes as politics today, the quote of the day was "nuclear grade bananas" which pretty well sums it all up in Oz.....as in just about every country littering the globe.
ReplyDeleteI seems completely appropriate that B1 and B2 bananas Credlin and Devine should lead the charge to sort out the whole fruit salad fuck-up that they have so persistently encouraged .......and now appear to be regretting.
But then they are both A grade certifiable.
What about a Peta AND Miranda-led coup?Peta can look after the Feds, Miranda the filthy Photios. Julie will have to be given a heads-up, of course.
