The pond just had to start with this nightmare vision by Rowe - more Rowe nightmares here - which is up there with the nightmare of the terrifying Kellyannewise clown that confronted Anderson Cooper and can be seen here ...
But enough of light Stephen King comedy, a different sort of beast stalks the onion muncher ...
Say what? That cannot stand, that is shockingly vexing. Gorgeous George no better than Comrade Bill!?
Even worse, the devious, deviant plotters are on the move, but can't escape the reptile stare and glare ...
Oh cruel inhumanity, to reward a plotter and in noble John's seat of all things, and yet the newspapers are full of the way that the onion muncher has at last made Malware see sense, and fixed his energy policies for him ... and without a hint of gracious gratitude ...
What, it's an EXCLUSIVE that, as everyone predicted, the spineless jelly known as Malware couldn't stand the heat in the kitchen, would roll over and flip flop, and do what everyone had predicted?
Ah, that'd be the sort of EXCLUSIVE the reptiles love ...
Ah, that'd be the sort of EXCLUSIVE the reptiles love ...
What a deeply corrupt, mendacious, rewarding of pets government it is ... and as usual Lloydie was on the case ...
But enough of hard truths and all the preliminaries, because there's important news to celebrate.
The reptiles have dug up yet another world famous climate science to head their opinion page this day ...
That take, gorgeous George, and as we did in Tamworth days, stick it up your woolly jumper ...
Now it's true that anyone who does a Greg Hunt on the still rolling Stone will be amazed to discover that he was born at the tail end of January 1929, and yet the reptiles have once again disinterred him, no doubt because he still retains his preeminent place as one of the world's great climate scientists, quite possibly equal to, or perhaps even better qualified than the onion muncher ...
As for his "considered opinion", up there with "hard truths", it was perhaps a tad unfortunate that the pond watched an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm last night, an uneven affair which featured Salman Rushdie extolling the virtues of fatwa sex (doing funny well for a writer), and an unctuous, glutinous, platitudinous, sticky, viscous restaurant front of house who spends all his time refusing to answer any question directly and rolling out clichés of the "in my considered opinion", "hard truth" kind ...
Happily, the rolling Stone is inclined to be short in his considered opinion ... which is just as well because science always works best when it's just an opinion delivered abruptly and with well-reasoned scientific and observational talk of scams, intellectual pygmies and quasi-religious phenomenons ... and you, you bloody young uppity punk, get off the rolling Stone's fucking lawn ...
A seminal event?
The pond must restrain itself. There will be absolutely no mention of spermatozoa here, no jokes about Onan withdrawing from Tamar and spilling his seed on the ground, and absolutely no mention of semen ...
Instead the pond is content to note and praise the rolling Stone for once more trundling out "Orwellian" so that the pond's swear jar could swell with seminal joy, aided and abetted by references to the "new paganism" ...
Truly, as Kudelka noted yesterday, the Greek myths remain alive in all their pagan richness ...
Well Malware gave up on that one, didn't he, at last understanding a rolling Stone gathers much moss, but the reptiles weren't done with their praise of the onion muncher, because the bouffant one was also out and about ...
Of course he isn't a problem!
He fixed Malware's energy policy for starters!
And his views on climate science are a joy to behold, almost Newtonian in their richness and seminal fluidity ...
Well it didn't take the bouffant one to get in and out in a few bold and brave strokes, and finish things off so that the pond could enjoy his seminal insights ...
Indeed, indeed, the onion muncher is a team player, and everything he does is for the team ... and the pond simply won't hear of wretches like gorgeous George or the asbestos lady sounding a tad disgruntled ...
There is a deeper purpose in all this, and thank the pagan heaven that the Pope was here to explain the real thinking behind the current reptile behaviour (with more papal insights here) ...
Benson and Crowe: "Retailers will be forced to buy a minimum amount of power from coal, gas or hydro for every megawatt of renewables."
ReplyDeleteBrilliantissimo ! Malarkey and mates have mandated a Dirty Energy Target (DET). And usurp the "free market" at the same time. And absolutely nothing will be done to curb the huge costs of 'gold plating' the grid, of course, because all the new "coal, gas or hydro" will fix everything.
Now, I wonder just how long it will take, and how much it will cost, to build all those coal, gas and hydro (especially the 'pumped' variety) plants in Australia. I wouldn't hang out for getting my aircond. powered by coal this summer.
Oh, and the world - and particularly China and India - is not building 621 new coal fired power plants. That's just more lies of the kind that a Rolling Stone believes unconditionally.

Wait, what? Artificially increasing the price of the less expensive 20-ish percent of delivered power to the point that it is more expensive than the more expensive 80-ish percent will result in cheaper power. *blink*...
ReplyDeleteGeorge H.W. Bush was talking about the respectable but ill-defined Laffer curve when he coined the phrase "voodoo economics". He should have saved that turn of phrase for this sort of nonsense.
I suppose when Malcolm is deposed, he can at least stop the zombie apocalypse. He's already doing a passable imitation of Baron Samedi too.
Just read the summary of the Lancet report that Abbot and Stone are proclaiming as proof that global warming is good because cold kills more people than heat. Turns out the findings are pretty skewed - one third of the locations studied were in the US. The definition of mortality factors is also a bit dodgy. Main caveat though was this statement "As the investigators explain, their results are not globally representative, so should be interpreted with caution when applied to other regions that were not included in the database, especially by policy makers." Seems our intrepid wannabe scientist/statisticians chose to disregard that very important disclaimer.
