Speaking of eye roll moments, the reptiles are adept at timing, and there's no better exponent of the art than nattering "Ned" ...
While US cartoonists are daring to go there, our own nattering "Ned" is having his very own light bulb moment ...
Now there's no denying that enduring nattering "Ned" tests the hardiest of souls, but on this particular occasion the pond was determined to hang in there, to see when climate science might be mentioned ...
A good start, a solid start, with a fine dog whistle. We all know what "pervasive green ideology" means, and mention of Balmain and Annandale is as cheeky as it gets for a publishing house based in Surry Hills ...
Naturally coal was also mentioned any number of times, and not the way that the Pope decided to mention in his encyclical this day (with more papal briefings here):
Ah, the dynamic skulker with his shovel of coal ... just the sort of Malware that nattering "Ned" loves ...
But the pond feels the need to issue a warning. Anyone who's been at a party where someone says "I've got six points to make, and I'm going to go through them one by one at an interminable length designed to make the Ancient Mariner seem pithy and short in speech" is entitled to pour a stiff drink before proceeding ...
Profits must come second? Egad sir, what need of chardonnay socialist Comrade Bill in the house when we have Comrades Josh and Malware in charge of the economy ...
As for gas, please don't mention it. That was sold off because that's what you do, and besides the backbench thirst for coal is insatiable ...
Which reminds the pond of that other unmentionable ...
Meanwhile, we're only up to point two and still nattering "Ned" hasn't mentioned the hoax ... will the next gobbet do the trick?
Could we perhaps begin with a hint by mentioning the green lobby, which is much more circumspect yet very evocative compared to a sordid reference to actual climate science? Quite possibly it's also all the fault of the filthy finance sector ... because greenies and the finance sector are such a natural fit ...
Ah, there you go ... built with government financial support if necessary.
Who needs Comrade Bill when we can have Comrade Onion Muncher in charge of the next five year plan?
As for this meaningless talk of saving the planet, the pond can feel another cartoon coming on ...
And now, since we've made it to point five, there's every chance that nattering "Ned" will at last turn to the source of that dangerous green ideology and lobby, and its silly love for renewables, when everyone knows that coal, coal, coal, is the future, and dinkum Aussie coal at that, oi oi oi ...
There you go ... splendid stuff ...
"Above all, the week showed how climate change has lost out as a Turnbull priority."
So the Pope was right with his encyclical ... it's possibly easier to spot a thylacine in the wild than spot a Malware with a coherent energy policy that doesn't mention coal in every second sentence in a bid to placate the onion muncher and nattering "Ned" and the reptiles of Oz ...
Of course the thing that must never be mentioned is that deep down - and heck, right on the surface too - "Ned" thinks climate science is just another kind of religion, one designed to tear him away from his glorious infatuation with his beloved coal. How cruel they are to try to separate "Ned" from his carbon beauty ... how wicked is that tweeting Vesey, as he tweets up an insolent storm, apparently under the delusion that climate science might actually have some reality outside Surry Hills, where the coffee flows like wine...
The last tweet Vesey sent out, after one mocking the onion muncher and before going quiet, provided a link to an ASX Media Release here ...
Carbon-constrained world?
Not in the world of nattering "Ned" and the reptiles where it's just a fevered dream, an ideology and a lobby group afflicting the citizens of Annandale and Balmain ...
Should they get out more? Of course not. Life on a hot rock in a bunker deep in Surry Hills is the only safe way to see climate science in action ...
Astounding. So many words for so few crumbs of sense or meaning.
ReplyDeleteApart from us, does anybody actually read this nattering nonce ?
