In which the pond races past the dog botherer to get to a juicy dose of the complimentary Shanners ...

Storm warning.

Lloydie celebrating the onion muncher's contribution to climate science has been elevated to "daring" ... which reminds the pond in a "daring" way, whatever happened to that legal action involving Lloydie's Peruvian eco-retreat? Inter alia:

He (Lloydie) has been named by the Queensland One Nation senator Malcolm Roberts as one of the journalists who “show the courage to research the evidence” for climate change, alongside Alan Jones, News Corp and the Sky News commentator Andrew Bolt, and his colleague Chris Kenny at the Australian.

Strange, no mention of the onion muncher as a worthy companion?

For those who came in late, the daring Lloydie was celebrated at Crikey back in June 2015:

One of Australia's fiercest critics of renewable energy, Graham Lloyd, has left the country to travel to Peru for his Amazon rainforest conservation foundation, which he runs under a different name. No, really.

Really, at least until it seems to have ended in tears and lawyers at an ecologically sound ten paces.

But enough of climate science, because the culture wars has opened up a new front at the lizard Oz ...

Actually what ever original meaning it had to tykes or others long ago vanished under a welter of commercial exploitation, but you won't find a story in the lizard Oz about it being deemed 'too commercial', not when they can do a special offer - given Dad a subscription to the lizard Oz, and if you really hate him, make it for as long as possible...

We keed, we keed, how else can anyone show their support for minor war criminals of the dog bothering kind?

Yep, it's more of the same old, explaining how the only way forward for Malware is to veer to the howling at the moon barking mad dog bothering right ...

Point of order muh lud.

That talk of the Coalition 'refining and delivering' the NBN is insufferable, though possibly not as insufferable as the suffering Iraqis have experienced thanks to the activities of the dog botherer as a minor war criminal.

The pond recently was forced over on the NBN, and in the end survived the experience, though not before the NBN installer hooked the pond household up to the wrong modem, and the pond's partner had to re-connect to the correct modem.

And then came what most have experienced and the pond was expecting, a marked deterioration of service ...

Before the NBN came knocking, the pond was easily hauling down over a hundred clicks. After the bungling installer left, that had dropped to fifty or sixty, and sometimes lower - but never higher and nowhere near the 100 - and depending on how you do the base for the percentages, that's a 50% drop or a 100%.

It's not fatal, because there's still a bit of headroom, though how it will work out during peak evening times will be something to see ... and at least the upload speed improved, which will be handy for the pond's data work.

But at the same time, a dog botherer rabbiting on about this being a 'refining' of the broadband experience is exactly the sort of shit that's alienated plenty of people from Malware.

'Refining'? If that's 'refining', kill the pond with white sugar and white bread ...

Oh sure, it's not the same as going to war over protests and fucking up another country and then walking away from the mess - the government speciality when the dog botherer was working for the stocking man - but still fucking up a country's broadband should be held against them ...

And now a cartoon before the dog botherer carries on ...

Yes, that sets the mood for reading the next sentence ...

Sheesh, he's a disagreeable, albeit predictable fucker.

No wonder he alienated his son ... but the pond has to scurry through the last gobbet of dog botherer to get to a tasty serve of Shanners' bigotry ...

Of course Malware is already a captive to the hard right in just about everything, and yet still they urge him on to even greater depths.

He's done everything possible ... fuck up the country's broadband, fellow travel with the Donald, arrange for a totally useless and expensive voluntary postal survey, and do the right thing on climate science ... and yet still they whinge and moan, and Lloydie celebrates the daring onion muncher because Malware's still clinging to the Snowy as well as coal...

And now as promised, a hearty serve of fundamentalist Catholic homophobic bigotry, dressed up as a sermon about "freedom" ...

There are plenty who have clustered on this side of the aisle, and they can be found peddling their hate under the hashtag It's OK to Vote No ...

That sort of imagery attracts the sort of company you might expect ...

And that nicely sets the tone for Shanners ...

Now not every Xian or Xian church is full of hate, fear and loathing. Some remember ancient camel and goat herder injunctions about love and fair dibs ...

But you won't find many of these folk being given the space to scribble columns in the lizard Oz, which has set itself up as the home base for homophobes, bigots and the 'no' vote ... and Shanners of course ...

What's the problem? They'll still be able to consign gays to hellfire for all eternity for their wickedness ... though if only the fable were true, what fun it would be to see Shanners arrive at the gate and be asked by Christ what was the bit about "love" that she didn't get, and how did she manage to conflate and confuse it with fear-mongering ...

Well after that epic trawl through the trolls, why not a New Yorker cartoon tearing the scales from the eyes of the Father's Day marketing team, with more NY cartoons here ...

Ah poor Rover ... and yet for a moment the pond believed the yarn ...

  2. Why is the blue (presumably human, male) figure in Cory's poster holding hands with what appears to be a pink cartoon bunny rabbit? Isn't Cory supposed to be be dead set against that sort of thing?
