Yes, the pond would like to start off with a thank you to all the reptiles as we head on down the marathon path ... thanks to all the commentariat loons who've lightened our burden a little, to whom this blog is affectionately dedicated ...

And so to the ritual tree-killing ... with the Fairfaxians highlighting the obvious ...

But you won't find any of that negative gearing nonsense featured by the reptiles ...

But enough of a superficial survey of the immensely superficial reptiles, because it's the pond's solemn duty - being deeply conservative, in bed by nine, lights out by ten - to stay loyal to its reptile commentariat, which invariably and inevitably leads the pond to contemplate the class war that is tearing this country apart ...

... led by the revolutionary Reserve Bank, if that memo is any guide ...

Yes, soul clap hands with joy, it's Caterist day, which involves a ritual as familiar as a trip to the confessional, a hail mary or two for penance ... and then ... on with the class war ...

Now around this point, the pond usually interrupts for its ritual comment on the commentary. 

Anyone who can throw in George Orwell, while at the same time being one of the pigs wallowing in the taxpayer-funded trough needs a little reminder that when talking about an annual drain on resources, which must be replenished with higher taxes or increased borrowings, the Caterists run an institute which does exactly that ... act as an annual drain on taxpayer resources so that the Caterists might be able to take their place at the pigs' table on the farm ...

Of course others have a simpler, more elemental response ...

And credit where credit is due, it takes a particular skill not to mention the grant-grabbing while denouncing others as spouting nonsense ...

Fellow masochists will surely have had their Caterist fill - the pond can't remember the last time even an idiot as grossly stupid as the Caterists peddled the "central planning" line while lining up for a taxpayer grant - but as the name Menzies has been invoked, the pond was deeply disturbed to read the story Leaked email suggests some Liberals want Peter Hendy to lose his bellwether seat ... (with forced video).

The email, sent in the early hours of Monday morning, from an organisation called Menzies Group to Liberal party members, claimed "some members have been heard at Canberra Liberals functions openly talking about their desire to see the incumbent lose the seat."

This is hardly news. Some Liberal supporters have been writing to the Bolter explaining how they actively intend to campaign for Labor in Eden-Monaro. But the pond was shocked that Ming the Merciless should have been dragged into the fray ...

The Menzies Group is a small grouping formed initially as a protest against the sitting Liberal Senator for the ACT, Zed Seselja, after he successfully challenged Gary Humphries for preselection in 2013. 
The email claimed the Canberra Liberals had withdrawn "support" for Mr Hendy's campaign in the crucial seat.

Of course Hendy was the rogue and traitor who loaned his house to the coup plotters and it's symbolic that the haters would use the name of Menzies ... in much the same way that the Caterists do a Linus and drag Menzies into conversations like a wet blanket ... because the world is still so 1950s ...

Now some might think it wrong to talk of the Caterists as blanket-hugging thumb suckers, but how else to describe thumb-sucking taxpayer-grant bludgers?

It's hardly wrong, and besides, when a Caterist is stupid enough to invoke Venezuela in the discussion, any sensible discussion is off limits and mere idle abuse is all the go ... especially when the very same Caterist purports not to be hostage to irrationalism ...

The pond suspects it's all due to a luxurious, fat-cat-taxpayer grant bludger Canberra lifestyle ...
