What, no savvy Savva at the lizard Oz today?
That's why the pond had to start off with an infallible Pope, with more papal blessings here …just to find the strength to make it through the day.
Of course the pond could have started off with other jokes …
But one word puts a stop to that …
And so to why the Pope is so relevant today. You see, without the savvy Savva, the pond has been forced into the company of the delusional and the denialist … and we may as well get straight into it with the denialist …
The pond doesn't understand how the reptiles decided they'd install Ando as a resident deliverer of saucy doubts and fears about doing anything about climate science. He was a dropkick when he headed the Nats, and in retirement and his scribbling, he's doubled down on dropkickery …
The trouble is, Ando doesn't have the first clue about Australia's place in the world, and spends an unseemly number of words proving it ...
You see? The usual 1.15% bullshit, as if all the coal that Australia ships abroad counts for nothing, and in a mystical way disappears in to the ether.
The pond is so tired of it all, the denialism and the saucy doubts and fear mongering, but this ancient relic, found here, is worth reviving …
Nothing's changed of course, but note how Ando and the rest of the denialist mob never mention it ...where the love of clean dinkum true blue Oz coal exports leads ...nor are the subsidies ever mentioned and trotted out …
Now what's the bet that Ando, being a bear of little brain himself, will trot out the Fisher, who has become a reptile favourite in recent times ...
And so the pond is forced to drag out a few reminders of Fisher … this in Crikey here way back when ...
And then there was this recent accounting of Fisher … inter alia …
The dirty dozen link can be found here at the lizard Oz, including this bon mot …
Speaking of the barking mad, meanwhile at the aforementioned source, there was this ...
And so on … googling Fisher can result in endless, if predictable fun.
But now it's back to the bear with very little brain for a final gobbet, given the arduous duty of channeling climate denialist Angus, beavering away in government to fuck the planet as best he can ...
Transparency and integrity? Oh go wash out your mouth, you dullard dodo bullshit artist from the bush …
And so to an even more painful duty because the reptiles can't leave their guilt alone, and must keep on reliving it, which is why that Pope cartoon at the start of the pond today must do double duty …
The pond doesn't need to resort to social media to get its fix of bile and hate speech. That's why it gave up on the Murdochian tabloids, because it had had a gut full of the screeching and the yowling and the hate emanating from the likes of the Bolter, Miranda the Devine and Akker Dakker …
The bromancer fancies that he's one of the moderates in this field, which only proves that he's not just a typical Murdochian denialist, he's more delusional than the average reptile …
What the fuck?
At a stroke, the entire history of the White Australia policy stricken from the record, and blather about Australia being a creedal nation substituted!?
Oh the pond knows the bromancer means well. It's just that being a fuckwit, he doesn't have the first clue about how to sound vaguely intelligent.
It was well within the pond's lifetime that the White Australia policy was still a cherished reality, Arthur Calwell might might jokes about Wongs being white (Michael Daley might still have a quiet chuckle), Aborigines were the despised, and the forgotten people (except when taken), and so on and on, endlessly forth …
And how did the United States get into that creedal mix? They fought a civil war over slavery, and to this day the country has never sorted out its treatment of 'people of colour', as they like to say …
Yet never mind the Donald and all the white supremacists doing the rounds, it's all the fault of Europe.
Why is it that those full of sin are always the first to cast a stone? Is it any wonder that the pond became dangerously radicalised by reading reptile tripe? And yet there's more to come …
And there you go, note the way these Pontius Pilates work, with their washing of the paws.
The recrudescence of extreme white supremacist sentiment (it never went away) is the fault of the victims. Anyone who dares assert their identity, and gets taken out for their pains, is actually the cause of their own suffering. Jeeze, judge, the white supremacist explains, all this bloody identity politics meant I just had to go out and gun down the poofters, the Islamics and all the different others (oh and ban the TG from the military and toilets just for the fun of it). But why the children? Oh it was their identity politics that made me mad and drove me on to do it ...
And if that isn't enough in the denialist stakes, the next reptile choice is to blame social media and the internet, and here the pond must break Godwin's Law, to note that Hitler didn't need the internet. Radio did just fine … just as the Bolter gets along perfectly well, using television and Murdochian rags …
Why do they never look at the crap in their own nests? Well that would require a few doubts, a little introspection, a memory longer than last week, some remorse, a ladle of regret, and some genuine insights, and perhaps even an apology and a promise to do better. Fat chance … when in doubt, just drag in video games and that'll get the reptiles off the hook ...
Yes, go on expunging the White Australia policy from history, and go on blathering about the glories of white Western Civilisation, and keep on making crusader charges at the other and the alien, and you too can pretend it's got nothing to do with you …
You too can celebrate the glories of Western Civilisation and somehow not hear Tucker Carlson blathering about Iraqis being semi-literate primitive monkeys …
Carlson touched on the subject of immigration in a May 2006 episode, and said immigrants should have “something to offer”—like being “hot” or “really smart.” “But people to come over and pick lettuce, I mean, I'm not saying that's an undignified... but on the other hand, is that—are those people who are going to build, you know, a stronger country 20 years from now?” he asked. Carlson also credited white people with “creating civilization and stuff” in a clip from a Sept. 2008 episode, and said the Congressional Black Caucus existed to “blame the white man for everything” in an Aug. 2008 episode. (here)
Actually the pond is pleased someone is willing to do an honest day's work picking lettuce for its plate, but the rest would make a good Ramsay Centre 101 course …you know, civilisation and stuff, like the printing press, gunpowder, paper, and pasta ...
Sturdy common sense? Is that what the bromancer's supposed to be offering? It sounds more like utter foolishness or typical delusional reptile denialism …
Sturdy common sense? Is that what the bromancer's supposed to be offering? It sounds more like utter foolishness or typical delusional reptile denialism …
And here's a sad little story from a few days ago to illustrate it …
Sky still can't get over the way Sky in New Zealand, hearing the cock crow three times, denied a connection with Sky Australia and pulled the plug on coverage of the massacre because the Murdochian Australian brand included footage New Zealanders rightly didn't want to see (and by not watching Sky, the pond also has managed to avoid seeing, since voyeurism at a massacre doesn't come naturally to the pond).
There were a few minor technical errors in a story about this, so naturally the incredibly defensive reptiles pounced …
But here's the sad part of the story, because it involved someone giving up their job …
Yes, don't hit the door on the way out, you shift worker with a conscience. We barely knew you, and we cared even less …but allow us to trash you for your errors on your way out ...
Will Lilly Viorovich ever wonder what it's like to work in the company of delusional, denialist reptiles, and decide she might give up the job, and instead venture out into a wild and difficult world?
Probably not, but imagine how hard it must have been to be a Muslim and to work at Sky News, knowing what goes out after dark each night on that wretched, despicable channel, full of Bolterish fury, hate and loathing … (remembering that for Sky after dark, the Bolter counts as one of the moderates, someone who is happy to be a little to the right of Genghis Khan).
And, all these things considered, that's how the pond came to end with another infallible cartoon from the Pope …remember, more here ...
"Hitler didn't need the internet. Radio did just fine …"
ReplyDeleteAnd big, ragingly passionate rallies, DP - just like a certain President of a major western hemisphere nation. Hitler was an early 'pioneer' of air travel, attending, in person, up to five major rallies in a day; who needs the internet when he has that ?
"Well that would require ... a memory longer than last week ..."
Just keep in mind that old political saw: If you have no memory, then you have no shame.
And now for the Bromancer: "...the Christchurch terrorism proves that universities should reject the Ramsay Centre's proposed courses on Western Civilisation, as though studying Plato or Dante leads to mass murder."
And doesn't it ? How many small, medium and large wars have been waged in Europe since Plato ? Of which WWI and WWII were just the most recent large scale examples. How about the whole Yugoslavia breakdown/Kosovo War as recently as 1998 as a "small" but typical example. Utter fvckwits such as the Bromancer just live in total denial of the extreme bloodiness of European history.
Hi Dorothy,
ReplyDeleteThe reptiles love to voice their opposition to Identity Politics.
Racial, religious and gender identities are terribly divisive according to these white, Christian men.
However one form of Identity Politics gets a free pass and it’s one that the reptiles constantly love to bang the drum for.
Nationalism.
DiddyWrote
Under the Gillard government's carbon tax, emissions declined. with a negligible affect on economic growth, which gives the lie to both Anderson and Fisher.
ReplyDeleteI was reading Andy Rhe Blot's Thursday rave in the Muffin Break free copy of the Herald Sun, and he pointed out that "Fisher was Abbott's favourite climate analyst" and that the Stanford prof who did the "peer review", John Weyant, is an advisor on climate to Donnie Trump.
DeleteOf course, The Blot was accusing "The Left" of trying to blacken Fisher by association, and I thought "That really blackens Fisher's so-called analysis and its peer review too. I won't have to pay that any attention now". Thanks, Blot.
Err, Andy The Blot's ... it's the very devil when the whote letters on the keyboard get worn away and basically disappear. Maybe I'll have to learn how to touch type properly.
DeleteErrr "white letters" sheesh.
DeleteI would put it to Sheridan: the 'creedal model of nationhood' is nothing more than an identity politics on a grand scale.
ReplyDeleteYes, well if we have no identity - only some kind of featureless "creed" - then all we are is indistinguishable lumps of psychoplasm. Such as, indeed, the reptiles basically all are.
