In which Dame Slap maintains the MAGA rage ...

The pond was wondering how the reptiles would respond this Monday … and for some there was a blissful kind of silence.

No howling at the moon by the Oreo about the dangers of Islam and the threats to white western civilisation; the Major off in la la land talking of 'relevance' and not a mention of the urgent need for the Ramsay Centre's crusade to save Western Civilisation or the dangers of immigration; while the Caterists stayed true to the urgent need to save the SloMo government and maintain climate science denialism, because otherwise where would the crusaders for Western Civilisation be?

Would any of the reptiles go there?

The pond was sorry it asked …sure, the richest comedy came in the headline of that tabloid purveyor of hate …

That's a nifty effort from a tabloid inclined to sociopathic hate-filled front pages, but even worse, Dame Slap decided to go there …

Yes, the Dame could sense that it was best to get out of the blocks early, and insist on the right of crusaders to go on crusading, because when it comes to fostering hatred, it happens to be Dame Slap's day job, and where would the average MAGA-cap wearer be without the hate?

Of course, in Dame Slap's world, fostering the hate is always "cultivating the debate", and how would she and the other reptiles be able to "continue the debate" - about wicked Islamics - if somebody dared to use a tragedy to "shut down the debate" …

But be fair. At least there's one crusader willing to front up … proving her point that Anning isn't the only ratbag inclined to use the NZ terror attack to score points.

See how ratbag Dame Slap uses the massacre to score points …

It's to be expected that the Dame is a little sensitive in this area, because she's been a leading MAGA cap wearer at the lizard Oz …

Even as the outrage unfolded, the Donald stayed true to form, blathering about emergencies and fear of furriners, and about Fox, as it tried a little strategic retreat …

Pirro's attempt to continue the debate, and Fox's attempt to defuse the debate?

The Daily Beast here,  but it should be noted that Fox has stayed true to Carlson, while others might scribble stories explaining Why White Supremacists Love Tucker Carlson

But back to MAGA-cap wearing Dame Slap.

It must have been a little close to the bone to learn that the sociopath viewed Donald Trump as a symbol of renewed white identity (bizarrely, stupid people also saw frumpy Adolf as a symbol of Ayran manliness) … so it didn't take long for Dame Slap to berate talk of compassion and drag out Muslim terrorists, because in the great debate, equivalence at all times is the name of the game ...

Ah, there you go. "Some on Twitter blamed me too."

But why, when there are good people on both sides, and all Dame Slap has ever done is support a braggart, bullying, white supremacist, dog whistling to white nationalists President who wanted to ban all Islamics from heading to the United States, whether full-blown terrorist, or mild-manned, peaceful moderate?

As for Sky News, what a fuss that was …

They can't help lying, can they, even when the blatant lie is clear enough from assorted postings …

Graudian more here ...

Now there's a curious thing … the Murdochians berating social media, when they couldn't resist showing images no one in New Zealand wanted to see …a rampaging Australian, at a time when Australia righteously insists on sending back to New Zealand criminals who've grown up in Australia ...

But enough of meta-ironies and back to Dame Slap. Remember when it all seemed so simple and obvious?

Ah yes, it was a fight for freedom, and so one sociopathic Australian freedom fighter headed off to New Zealand,  creating murder and mayhem ... and another opportunity for Dame Slap to maintain the rage ...

Odd. The pond tolerates the intolerant Dame Slap and is routinely bemused by her remarkable ability to generate column after column seething with an intolerance … a level of intolerance that only the Bolter, Akker Dakker, Miranda the Devine and such like can match in the Murdochian world of the intolerants …

How incapable of self-analysis and self-reflection is she? Well anyone who can don the MAGA cap and slip out into the streets of New York to dance with delight in the night air, is surely capable of tolerating not just intolerance, but a bully and a bigot, with dangerous authoritarian tendencies seemingly aimed at dragging the West towards totalitarianism …

And so to the truly tragic side of the debate, which has already begun, and who better to do it than the bromancer, haplessly wringing his paws …

Poor old bromancer. He doesn't seem to realise on any given day that he's within the Murdochian empire, which thanks to Fox's slavish support for the Donald exudes a growing power and reach, in the cause of a repellent, extreme, right-wing and racist ideology …

Does the bromancer ever observe the outpourings of his US Fox cousins? Or the GOP?

It seems not …though others have noted all sorts of connections, as in The New Zealand Shooter's Rhetoric Sounds Like Something You Might Hear In Congress

Why Fox even scored a listing in wiki here, with this 2014 analysis of polling data here:

Empirical evidence for such a possible interaction between media coverage and latent anti-Muslim feelings is mounting. One study that analyzed Fox News viewers' anti-Muslim feelings reported, for example, that 60% of Republicans who most trusted Fox News also believe that Muslims were attempting to establish Sharia law in the United States. And as we reported earlier, those trusting Fox News the most also tend to believe that Islamic values are incompatible with American values (68%). That percentage is lower for those who most trust CNN (37%) or public television/new [media] (37%).

But that brings us back to the Pirro factor, and we haven't even started with the bromancer …

The bromancer has one small tweak to suggest?

Um, actually, no one could doubt SloMo's love of coal, and his willingness to use Islamic extremism and terrorism and fear of migrants and boat people to boost his political position …

There's more here, but you catch the tweak or the drift, and there have been many headlines since …

And so on, and on, and on … but enough already, it's back to the bromancer for a final gobbet …

And there the bromancer goes again, blaming the internet.  But what makes up a substantial part of the internet? Well it's true that the pond regurgitating Dame Slap wanting to carry on the "debate", aka the Trumpian good on both sides bigotry and hate, is a very small part of the internet.

But the Murdochians, especially the Foxians (not excluding the extremists parading in the lizard Oz and the down under tabloids), pander to a racist, right-wing ideology that arises out of the swampland of mainstream right wing media …

You don't need to head off to 4Chan or Reddit for baseless conspiracy theories …

It was the tragic end to the life of a popular man with strawberry blond hair and a taste for wearing stars and stripes shirts on the Fourth of July. But it was only the beginning of an even more tragic afterlife: the ruthless exploitation of his death for political purposes by the hard right, from Fox News, Breitbart, and Roger Stone to Newt Gingrich, along with Julian Assange of WikiLeaks and the farther flung reaches of the internet. Last week, the conspiracy theory that conservatives draped around Rich’s lifeless neck – that he was the source of the hacked DNC emails released by WikiLeaks at the height of the 2016 presidential race, and not Russia, as US intelligence insists – was revealed to have received a boost from the highest quarter. The former White House press secretary Sean Spicer, and allegedly even Donald Trump himself, were revealed to have been given advance notice of a sensational Fox News story that blamed Rich for the hack, and implied he had been murdered by Clinton acolytes as payback.
The only problem with the Fox story: it wasn’t true.
The blockbuster revelation that Fox News made pre-publication contact with the White House over a malicious and false story blaming a murdered young man for the DNC emails spells potential trouble for both parties. For Fox News, it revives the charge made over many years that its owner, Rupert Murdoch, is prepared to be cavalier with journalistic ethics if it suits his political or corporate interests.  (Graudian here).

Hannity was in the thick of it, as might be expected of a one man lying machine, source of or echo chamber for so many conspiracy theories, it's too sickening to behold him for any length of time …

Sean Hannity has become the media's top conspiracy theorist …

You see, bromancer, the calls are coming from within the Murdochian house.

Stop blathering about the intertubes and pay attention to what's happening in your own world. Read Dame Slap, wanting to go about her usual hating ways, and agitated that a massacre has upset her apple cart …work out the 'how' of the way Chairman Rupert has degutted the centre.

The 'why' is simple enough … greed, money, power, and not giving a fuck about what happens to average punters just trying to stay alive and live a life …

Of course doing something about it would be a bit like cleaning out the shit from the Augean stables, or moving that rock up the hill … so just keep scribbling away about the centre in a meaningless, impotent way ...

Or you might head off to the night cafe evoked by Rowe, where more than a few of your colleagues get their caffeine and hate fix (with more Rowe here) …

  1. Bromancer: "...otherwise sane people are led to ignore reality and create instead elaborate and integrated, and mad, myths in which malign evil actors are implementing secret policies aimed at them."

Oh boi, that's a very good description of Dame Slap's obsession with the United Nations and its black helicopter imposed Single World Government, don't you reckon ?

    1. She's such a big fan of Milo Yapyap I am surprised she didn't rush to his defence. seems a convenient oversight at this point in time.

Really, there is so much actual evidence as to where the majority social and political attitudes lie it is amazing that the reptiles continue to style themselves as centrists. There's your mad myth!

    2. Monckton, Trump, Yiannopoulos ... quite a little list of legopinas she's got, as well as Old Faithful Michael.

  2. "...a group of schoolchildren, whose visit to Westminster..."

WHAT? Why weren't these children in school where they belong, learning about how to save democracy from demogogues, or fix global warming, or something. I bet it was their ratbag lefty teachers who took them along, poisoning their vulnerable little minds by exposing them to the sight of Parliament in action.

Four legs good. Two legs baaaaad.

  3. Hi Dorothy,

If it weren’t so tragic is would be highly amusing watching Dame Slap and the Bromancer attempting to pull off a full ‘reverse ferret’ over the events in Christchurch, especially as they try to reclaim the soggy centre (an area they last saw disappearing over the horizon many moons ago).

However it soon becomes clear who they consider to be the real victims of this massacre. Them and their fellow reptiles as well as Murdoch’s political wing, the Coalition, all who have been happily plying the dogwhistle for the last eighteen years.

In fact the dead and wounded barely receive a sentence or two from either Albrechtsen or Sheridan (not even the old saw “thoughts and prayers”) before both have launched into a wail of self pity about how they are being unfairly blamed for creating a toxic environment where white supremacists can flourish.

Sheridan cannot even bring himself to describe the gunman as a terrorist but can spend three paragraphs attempting to describe the ‘correct’ terminology for “Islamist” terrorism, proving yet again that as far as MSM are concerned it’s only terrorism if its been committed by a Muslim.

How long before this act of terrorism is being safely walled off as just “the acts of a lone gunman” and nothing to do with right wing politics whatsoever.

    1. Considering both your view, and NH's contribution below, the thing I still waste some fruitless hours contemplating is: how did they (and the rest of the reptile herpetarium) get to be this way. Is it some kind of human variation that is somehow a result of their genes, or is it their family circumstances or the broader socialising they've all been involved in since very early in their life. Or all of the above. And how much of it do they pass on, in turn, to their children so that this sickness is perpetuated.

And how did you, and I sincerely hope, me, end up quite differently. So that you, at least, can apparently easily discern their nature, but they have no clue whatsoever to ours.

  4. There may be something lower in Australian journalism than Albrechtsen's disgusting article, but surely not more cold-hearted. Not for one second does she try to imagine or care what it must be like to be shot by some horrific weapon along with all your relatives and friends. I have often noted she regards compassion as weak or "moronic".
It's more important to blast Yassmin Abdel Magied for a poorly constructed Tweet. No consideration that the poor girl might be a little shaken up.
She is far worse than Anning, who after all is just a dickhead drunk on 5 minutes of power.
