Reptile watch ... or where would the pond be without its herpetarium and its pets?

The pond was almost moved to tears this day to see the reptiles reduced to quivering anxiety about the suffering of the workers ...

As usual, when there's talk of the hapless workers paying the greatest share of tax in at least forty years, the pond always demands respect be paid to the toilers in the field who have made this possible ...

Oh well played reptiles, well played. Top of the high risk tax avoidance stakes, and so worthy commenters on the Australian tax scene ...

And so to a little light relief with the Oz editorialist ...

Indeed, indeed, it's nothing to do with a Liberal in drag being appointed to a sweet gig, or the reptiles and Abbott and his minions demonising Triggs, it's all the fault of that wretched woman ... but now freedom boi is free of the harridan ...

Splendid, splendid stuff, wondrous in its astuteness and in its hagiographic dealing with freedom boi ...

Naturally it reminded the pond of this press release ...

... which a twittering wag deemed could do with a little help ...

And naturally the meme-sters were out in force ...

But in the end it was the tax debate that was rolling, and so all the pond's favourite cartoonists were at it, and you can find more Rowe here, more Pope here, and more Wilcox here ...

  1. Stuart Robert has no shame, no morals and no principles.

"FADDEN MP Stuart Robert has defended slugging taxpayers more than $1600 to attend the Townsville opening of a goldmine by a company in which he was a shareholder."

“To ensure there can be no conflict I wish to voluntarily repay the costs in question in addition to any such penalty the Department may wish to apply.

I think people like Robert are referred to as bullshit artists.

Peter Slipper also "voluntarily" offered to repay the costs but instead was referred to the AFP.

    2. Such a thoughtful gesture, the fake Rolexes wrapped in plastic.

    3. Indeed, must be a huge joke for the Chinese how greedy and corrupt Western people are. Is it legal to bring fake watches into the country?
