The latest tasteless contradictory bit of clap trap from Piers Akerman, under the header Eight years on from 9/11, Rudd learnt exactly zilch?
After nearly two years in office, the Federal Government is yet to show commitment to its election promise to an open and transparent administration. Now it is toying with security.
On these matters, politics should be left at the door and the precedence should be given to the national interest.
Politics left at the door? Yep for the rest of the column Akerman spends his time paying out the Labor party and unionists and Greg Combet and wharfies and Labor insiders and anyone else he can muster a little hate mail about.
What's this got to do with 9/11? The Taliban? Islamic fundamentalism?
Eight years after 9/11, the Rudd Labor Government doesn’t seem to have learnt anything about the nature of terrorism.
Yep, it's just the daily talking point. Here's how it works?
As Santa Claus threatens to clamber down chimneys around the world this year, the Rudd Labor Government doesn't seem to have learnt anything about the nature of this white bearded red clothed old goat ...
Now proceed to list all your complaints about the subversive Coca Cola loving gent and his peculiar attachment to children, and blame them all on the Rudd government, together with dire doom and gloom predictions about the disasters sure to ensue ...
The difference of course is that it's 9/11.
Politics left at the door? And we turn to Piers Akerman on September 11th to learn about the nature of terrorism? And how to leave politics at the door?
Words fail me. Sometimes I wish they'd fail Akerman, instead of his always to hand capacity to produce endless streams of bilious bile ...
(Below: worried about Santa's devious ways? Remember the Rudd government is responsible, and has learned nothing).
