From canaries to harsegroppers, it's all the fun of the advanced digital media platform fair, thanks to the reptiles of Oz ...

The pond always feels better starting the weekend with a Pope cartoon - there's a gallery of papal humour here -  and if you want to relax more, you can always "please clap", and watch another episode of The Unblackening here with Larry Wilmore.

Other more dedicated folk must be the canaries sent down into the reptile Oz coalmine to check on the state of things, and the pond was delighted to discover that the chief stenographer who replaced the chief stenographer is doing his manly duty ...

Oh you winsome, beguiling hagiographer you ... a shot in the arm, as opposed to a shot in the toe.

Meanwhile, the old fogies are tremendously excited at having found some young fogies ...

Problem of idle chatter about the republic solved ... you see, nothing to do with boring farts of the Paul Kelly/Tony Abbott school. It's them young fogies what killed the dream ...

Meanwhile, the voices in the cave still chant in unison as they stare at the light flickering on the cave paintings, and dream of smiting their enemies mightily, without mollycoddlers getting in their way ...

Long gone are the days when public servants, aka political candidates, kept their traps shut. Short are the days when they might chirrup in unison with Dame Slap ...

And then there were other typical ventures ...

Yes, the barking mad yammering about welfare will always have a home amongst the reptiles of Oz. It's part of the business plan ...

Then the other great matter of the hour, the running of the gulags, was sorted ...

Naturally the dog botherer was ready at the head of the opinion pages to chip in ...

Nauru? Why the reptiles holyday there each year ...

But the pond was most entranced by this offering, which broke yesterday as the editor rushed into the bunker, and yelled "halt the presses" in a screeching voice, "we must put this top of the page":

Now on the face of it, all it does is show that Polonius is in an advanced state of senility. And we all knew that. So what's the angle, where's the news?

Just think. Gerard Henderson, good old prattling Polonius, is a commentator who carries no responsibility for the consequences of his advocacy in the media. Not even the way that the lizard Oz rag loses a motza for the chairman.

Substitute any name you like. Dame Slap, Paul Kelly, Dennis Shanahan, the bromancer, the dog botherer, they're all commentators who carry no responsibility for the consequences of their advocacy in their media. Not even the way that their rag loses a motza for the chairman.

Heck, come to think of it, the pond doesn't bear any consequences for its advocacy that the lizard Oz should cost the chairman a losing squillion or two ... you can help by not giving the reptiles a centime, a sou, a franc, a dime, a yuan, a yen or a ha'penny.

And yet today there's the same argument in a different splash ...

Naturally the pond bit, because the pond was intrigued to see how prattling Polonius would come up with an alternative to the running of gulags of the most awful kind ...

Silly pond. It turns out it was just a short posting in Polonius's dog bothering media watch column - the reptiles must now be really desperate to get attention paid to the dark 'Mr Hyde' side of Polonius, full of ill-mannered bitching and preening, which is supposed to pass as caustic and witty, but actually comes across as sadly desperate, pathetic and angry ... oh so angry, and with so little to explain the anger, though it does allow the pond to marvel yet again at the way old fogies shout at clouds ...

Indeed, indeed, and so the whole business of the running of the gulags is solved in a stroke by that master diplomat, prattling Polonius ... what a clever old fogie he is ...

It's strange of course that in his rant about the rant, he doesn't mention the Iraq war or George W. Bush or Dick Cheney or a thousand other matters, or George Pell being too sick to travel, for that matter, but that's just part of the infinite mystery of transubstantiation and the wisdom of Polonius ...

The pond routinely never bothers with Polonius when he imagines he's a dog of the nose-biting kind, and so it returned to the work of Darren Davidson.

Yes, this involved by-passing so many splendid offerings that portend that surely this week the lizard Oz will return to profit with a leap and a bound - so many freedom boi Dame Slap temptations, so little time - but that's the sort of sacrifice the pond routinely makes ...

Splendid stuff. All those old fogies and farts marvelled at above will open up new avenues with young fogies and farts, and all will be well in this modern media age.

How captivating to learn that the resilient established media outlets aren't being defeatist, how tremendous that they will continue to piss money against the wall on powerful platforms that will highlight ...

Prattling Polonius, Dame Slap, Paul 'the bromide' Kelly, Dennis "the bouffant one" Shanahan, the dog botherer, and so on and so forth ...

Because print lives, what a powerful platform - let's give it away at airports and anywhere else it can run wild and free - and so does the LP, and the eight track, and the Phillips compact cassette, and what was wrong with VHS anyway ...?

In Malware's agile Australia, with its third rate broadband, tree killing will still rool the roost ...

Please, do go on, the pond is captivated ...

The enduring value of our prestigious brands ... like, you know, the dog botherer, Dame Slap, the bromancer, prattling Polonius, the whole bunch of old farts and fogies producing the sound logicrequired for the reptile Oz's digital strategy to take over the world ...

As for the world itself?

Sorry, that story was so yesterday, here ...

The world's going to hell in a handbasket, and there won't be scientists to notice?

Yes, but what about 18C and Waleed Aly boring the socks off RN listener with that pompous prat Scott Stephens?

And so to a Rowe cartoon, which features prattling Polonius accepting the consequences for his advocacy in the media. Or maybe it was the dog botherer. Or some other reptile in the lizard Oz.

Look, you can see them standing proudly, chins held high, accepting the consequences... (and more Rowe here, in proper format) ...

Oh sorry, the pond needs new glasses. That was the Napoleonic figure of Malware ...

If you follow that link to Rowe, you can also access a bonus story ...

Yes there are others fascinated by the business plan of the reptiles of Oz, but that's a cap, the hot link is here, and while we're at it, here's a bonus Rowe, just so the pond can tidy away that other matter in the air in recent times ...

Be still, beating heart ... well, keep beating, but contain the excitement at the news ...

The rest of that Graudian story here.

The rest of this CNBC story, with mooving pictyahs here ...

The rest of this Fairfaxian story here ...

Pity about the jobs. Still, in this agile world, that's the way it goes, whether you're a climate scientist or a Murdochian minion ...

How long before the Class A shareholders stop sucking it up?

How long will the Class B voters keep voting with the rest of the sheep?

Will others join the long gone Saudi Arabian prince? Or will pirates make a move?

How's that right wing zealotry working in the market place of ideas these days?

Does anyone regret how they unleashed teh Donald and the kraken?

The pond looks forward to reading all the answers, with suitable hype and the egg-beaten froth, in the weekend's reptile rags ...

Oh the spinners will have much spinning to do ...

Meanwhile, just time for a classic movie ... how did Orson manage to encompass both Hearst and the Chairman? Why even Jerry fits the plot ...

In which, in a TGIF, the pond is grateful for nodes, kitchen cabinets and kitchen gadgets, cute puppies and climate science handed back to Moorice where it belongs ...

Things are always slow on a reptile Friday.

Oh sure, there's always the possibility of reading the Swiss bank account man explaining how he came to understand that locking children up in gulags was the best way forward ...

No, that's not weakness, because gulags are strength.

Let's not have idle chat chat about being generous towards a few children, not when we can have strength through support of the gulags.

Now back to checking the credit balance in the pond's Swiss bank account.

Naturally after that, the pond turned elsewhere in the news for sustenance and a serve of fibre, and found this story in the Graudian ...

Oh that's okay. If you thrash someone with a baseball bat in private, provided you do it in public too, then everything's hunky dory.

Sure the NBN might still be shitty, but at least the ABC's been taught a lesson ... in public, and in private ...

And have they learned their lesson well. Marvel at the truculent defiance embedded in that allegedly free spirit Patricia Karvelas as she played a solid bat in Labor calls for inquiry into Turnbull's role in ABC 'gagging' NBN reports ...

Of course if you head off to the Graudian story, you'll cop a link to The ABC is like a victim trapped in an abusive relationship - with the government.

Now to be fair, the pond should reveal its bias. The pond loathes Kitchen Cabinet. The pond doesn't need humanised politicians. The pond does need sensible policies.

The notion that Kitchen Cabinet provided genuine insights into Scott Morrison, for example, is a nonsense. If the show had caught Morrison in church in the act of speaking in tongues, and he'd explained what he was up to and why he believed in speaking in tongues ... well maybe then, but which ABC show would dare to go there?

Or maybe, if he explained why he no longer spoke in tongues, we could have had a "so when did you stop beating your wife and speaking in tongues?" moment ...

Instead ...

Imagine, if you will, Crabb, her basket crammed with scones and jam, rapping on the security gates at Eddie Obeid’s sprawling residence and then exchanging witty repartee while he works the stoves. The effect would be much the same.
Crabb’s convivials with Morrison over a Sri Lankan curry were not just infused with turmeric but also with the ABC’s survival strategy. The ensuing controversy can be banked for now by the ABC and deployed, as needed, when next the crusaders’ cries of “bias” ring out. One episode of Kitchen Cabinet with Morrison is worth at least two years of the former Liberal party senator Amanda Vanstone broadcasting on ABC radio – and far less eye-wateringly dull.
In 2016, the ABC will feature a reality television show about the debate concerning the constitutional recognition of Indigenous Australians. The show will provide star billing to Andrew Bolt, another crusader who wants the ABC abolished, who argues that the climate has been cooling and who has been found by the federal court to have racially vilified Aboriginal people.
Like a victim trapped in an abusive relationship, there is no way out.

The ABC isn't the only one trapped in an abusive relationship where Malware can feel free to ring up and abuse anyone who answers the phone ...

Even the reptiles noticed what its correspondents had much desired ...

Moorice must be delighted as his reign of the world's greatest climate science can now continue unchallenged ...

With infallible ability, the reptiles managed to dig up a chap speaking in support of the move:

Peter Tangney, a science policy lecturer at Flinders University, said political influence might have triggered CSIRO’s latest move, but a longstanding emphasis on “the production of more and better climate change science” had delivered little return.

Indeed, indeed. At least the space program brought us non-stick frying pans.

What's climate science ever done for us? All that doom and gloom ... little return in all that crap and fear-mongering.

And so the ghost of Tony Abbott lives on in the nodes and in the death of science ... though there were predictable reactions from others who thought the point was to understand what was happening to the world around us ...

Larry Marshall surely has a point about rejuvenating organisations and solving new challenges, but I worry about his statement that there is no further need after the Paris climate summit to understand climate change since we now know it is real. Effective action requires detailed understanding. For example, Marshall speaks of contributing to the proposed agricultural development of the Northern Territory, but we don’t know for how much longer this region will still support agriculture or even human habitation as the Earth keeps warming, nor how much drying (if any) Australia’s existing agricultural regions will experience. The groups that would help provide answers are the ones he says we don’t need any more.
- Steve Sherwood, ARC Laureate Fellow and Director, Climate Change Research Centre, University of New South Wales
It is always disappointing when science is cut back, especially when we need to be more innovative to overcome the economic problem of falling commodity prices. It is particularly bad when the cuts are in such areas as Oceans and Atmosphere, Land and Water and Manufacturing, as these are critical to our chances of a sustainable future. More worrying than the cuts is the language used by the new chief executive. There won’t be scientists sacked, there will be “reductions in headcount”! And these aren’t research areas, they are “business units”, headed not by top scientists but “business leaders”. The cuts are “something that we must do to renew our business”, according to the CEO. The language reveals that the government is trying to sabotage our public science body and turn it into a consulting business.
- Ian Lowe, Emeritus Professor of Science, Technology and Society, Griffith University

Oh dear, good prof, clearly you haven't understood an agile, innovative response to renewal ...

Climate science? Bah humbug. Couldn't even produce a decent return ...

Please, get back to the pond when you've produced a decent gadget for its magic science oven ...

Naturally the likes of little Timmie Bleagh understood what it really meant ...

Yep, Larry Marshall has managed to reduce the debate to the level of "settled" and "solved" ...

Understanding the future?

Please just settle down to enjoy a nice dry Clare riesling with the pond's one minute egg, and we can discuss the ineffable stupidity of a CEO announcing climate science has been answered ... did he tell Moorice, the Bolter and little Timmie and their cohorts, including the Chairman himself?

Could the pond gain any deeper insight?

Perhaps something put into 140 characters or less?

Oh sweet long absent lord, not the cute puppy gambit.

On a day of mass sackings, they go the cute fucking puppy gambit as the four o'clock fact?

Now there's a deeply disturbed organisation ...

The pond actually thought it was a spoof site, and perhaps it is ...

Well that's enough havoc with venerable institutions for the day.

After all, we have the new Murdochian head of the ABC yet to arrive.

How splendid will the Kitchen Cabinets be after that ...?

And how marvellously well the Malware months are playing out ...

How adept and agile he is at maintaining the wall-puncher's agenda ...

And so to a Pope, and more papal insights here ...

By golly that portrait of the poodle is worth its weight in woodchips, and how sweet of the Pope to make a joke about babies trying to escape the gulag ...

...behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:
And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.
Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.

Bloody useless refugees, and ditto people who read the bible and purport to understand it.

And so a terrorist was saved and the world has lived in terror ever since. If only Peter Dutton had been around at the time to do the right sort of job for Herod! Well at least he can do it for Malware and Orstralia, you bloody beaut gulag nation, you ...

(More Moir here, if Fairfax gets its act together)

There was something eerily reminiscent of Truffaut's Farenheit 451 in that mutton uniform ...

But perhaps Pope was just thinking of the nets in Planet of the Apes.

And so to a bonus cartoon from Cathy Wilcox, and more Wilcox here ...

Good old thugby league. And yet what a fine example it provides for ways to deal with the ABC. Bash it around the head enough, and you too might score a gig on Kitchen Cabinet ...

Let the nodes run wild and free ... well, not to free, and not too useful either ...

We are all Englishmen here, even the women are Englishmen ...

Surely this must be something of a first for the Terrorists when it comes to premium articles and features, but who is the author of this premium article which requires payment for unrestricted access? Oh wait, here it is...

James Crafti? That name jiggled and joggled a pond memory ... was the credit a clue?

Writer? Community activist?

Nope, that's not how the pond remembers Crafti.

But it seems that it's the way the Terrorists care to describe Crafti?

So who is this crafty figure trolling away with click bait for the Terrorists?

Well you can Twitter him here, and catch up on his riotous behaviour, and a link to his latest article for Red Flag, and so on.

The pond finds it terribly hard to keep up with Crafti's latest group. So many Pythonish splitters, comrades, so little time.

Inter alia his name has been associated with Socialist Alternative, Socialist Alliance, and such like, while back in 2008 good old slackbastard records his expulsion from Resistance ...

So that's what happens when the Terror wants to get some click bait trolling going, and the comrades show how the revolution will proceed ... by scribbling for the Chairman and enhancing his paywall coffers. Vive la Murdochian revolution, comrades.

The pond almost forgot to mention Crafti's work in relation to Max Brenner, if only so it could faithfully note the diligent work of the chief stenographer ...

And they say a sponsored trip to Israel for journalists doesn't keep on producing results on the propaganda front!

Well if Godwin's Law means nothing these days, and Stalin trips off the tongue, it seems perfectly reasonable to call Beattie a fuckwit and to wonder and marvel at the way the Terrorists might publish a trolling comrade, and not be held to account by the diligent stenographer ...

Never mind, please allow the pond to indulge in another choccie indulgence before heading off to the main course ...

You see the Bolter recently came out with this ...

You'd swear, reading the Bolter, that everything's hunky dory in Bangladesh.

But the pond, being a blogger, has certain memories imprinted on the brain.

Amongst the many reasons the pond dislikes the regime running Saudi Arabia are stories such as Saudi blogger Raif Badawi may receive second set of lashes on Friday.

A thousand fucking lashes for blogging? And the pond has on more than one occasion, offered a certain contempt for Islam as a delusional religion, worthy company for other delusional beliefs.

That sets up the pond for a thousand lashes, but it turns out that's nothing. It's hard to imagine, but it could be worse ...

Slashed to death by machete for blogging in a secularist way? Fuck that for a Bolterish joke.

That story's here,  and it's now the pond's fervent hope that the Bolter hies himself off to Bangladesh and announces that he's a blogger who has difficulty accepting the Islamic religion ...

Let's hope he seeks protection from the police, or perhaps even the elected government ... and let's hope he's taken really good self-defence classes. Or maybe not. There could be an elegant kind of poetic justice close at hand ...

But enough of mere matters of life and death, because as always, the pond has a special treat, and it's truly a marvel from the ever reliable bromancer, recanting and re-shaping himself as a new British flag-waving Colonel Blimp down under ...

Now the pond is sometimes inclined to editorialise and comment on its offerings, but we are all Englishmen here, even the women are Englishmen, and for once little comment is needed.

The bromancer is such an adept and able spokesperson for himself and for the future King Chuck that the pond can safely reproduce his deepest thoughts without much need for commentary ...

Oh okay, it is worth noting the way that the bromancer slips in the notion of the "ruling class" as if that perfectly describes and evokes John Howard ...

And is there anything more tedious - the pond had to stifle a yawn - to hear yet another tale of youthful idealism gone off the rails? Further evidence that the weirdest comrades can end up scribbling for Chairman Murdoch and that atheists make the best members of Opus Dei, and that grovelling Irish twits are always the finest supporters of the lords of England ...

The pond also had to stifle a yawn at the bizarre news that the bromancer was motivated by the notion that an Australian republic should please the people of Asia, only to discover that no one in Asia could care less about our constitutional arrangements?

Because Australia exists only in the minds of Asians ... and if we want King Chuck, why would they care?

Yes, it's that old riff about dreaming of butterflies, but this time Australia only exists in an Asian dreaming.

Every so often reading the bromancer, the pond is reminded how deeply confused he is - a thugby leaguer would say fucked in the head, before pissing on Dame Slap's couch, because that's what larrikin mates do ...

Yes, the pond started with high hopes, but is finding reading the bromancer a bit of a struggle, and drifted off to yesterday's column, but we must press on, as he does what all Stalinists and republicans must do at their show trial ... recant and redeem, so that they can embrace the vision of King Chuck...

Indeed, indeed. How the pond loved that line "I believe we have not had a poor governor-general since World War II."

At last someone has a good word for HRH The Prince Henry William Frederick Albert, Duke of Gloucester, and the splendid the Right Hon. William Philip Sidney, 1st Viscount De L'Isle, and the most excellent the Right Hon Sir John Robert Kerr, and even the strangely shortened reign of the Right Rev and Hon Peter John Hollingworth.

Others will prefer the mention of India, which actually happens to have a Republic Day ...

But surely all will join together in celebrating British institutions and being British. We are all Englishmen here, even the women are Englishmen when it comes to the crunch ...

There's a breathless hush at the reptile Oz to-night -
Ten to make and the match to win -
A bumping Stalinist pitch and a blinding leftist light,
An hour to play and the last man in.
And it's not for the sake of a ribboned coat,
Or a gong from the Queen in January,
Or the selfish hope of a season's fame,
But his Captain's hand on his shoulder smote
"Play up! play up! and play the game!"
The sand of the desert is sodden red, -
Red with the wreck of a square that broke; -
The Gatling's jammed and the colonel dead,
Killed by that fiendish anarcho-syndicalist red
And the regiment, blinded by lefty dust and smoke.
The river of death has brimmed his banks,
And England's far, and Honour a name,
But the voice of schoolboy rallies the ranks,
Come, come, you dinkum cobbers of England down under,
"Play up! play up! and play the game!"

Yes, even if it's unwise to play in New Zealand, the pond is British to the bootstraps or high heels, depending on your preference ...

And if anyone wonders why there's the odd reference to fiendish, vicious lefties in that travesty of a fine and noble British poem, luckily the bromancer is on hand to explain ...

Because, you see, thinking that Australia might stand on its own two feet, and be Australian, actually reveals a deep hatred of Australian culture and civilisation.

The only way forward for Australia is to kow tow and lick spittle towards the magnificent King Chuck when he ascends the throne, followed by all the spawn who will line up behind him as his honourable hairs ... though the hairs are receding a little, so it won't be long before the new hairs will sit on the throne, hopefully leaving the Nazi uniforms in the closet ...

As for Tony Abbott, how splendidly he did with his love of the monarchy. Why he was celebrated far and wide, and by no lesser a writer than the bromancer himself ...

Yes, yes, the pond recalls that the bromancer went on to explain that it was all Queen Lizzie's fault, and that she'd wanted it for Phil the Greek and what was a devout monarchist like Tony to do but accede to her wishes ...

There's British loyalty for you. When it gets down and dirty, blame the dear old Queen.

The whole farce is worth remembering when the bromancer gets on to the subject of the royals and his one true wall-punching love and how he's going to return with a 60% popularity rating ...

Where do the reptiles dig up these wankers? Oh wait, the Terrorists and the Bolter show how it's done.

But enough of the bromancer. Anyone who's made it this far surely deserves a cartoon from the infallible Pope, and more infallible papal cartoons here ...

Oh yes, we are all Englishmen here, even the women are Englishmen, and how grand are the hulks of London made resplendent once again in the gulags of Australia ... how we love our British traditions, how we treasure the finest in British civilisation. Thugby leaguers may now piss on the couch ...

Paul Kelly determined to push ahead with a dullard vote for parliamentarians avoiding what they were elected to do ...

One of the more pointless duties of the pond is to watch the twisting, squirming, writhing contortions on the spit of sundry members of the conservative commentariat, intent on making prattling Polonius sound and look like a rapier wit.

There have been an abundance of headlines in recent times of this kind ...

These absurdities have at long last flushed an elephant from hiding so that the elephant may pontificate on the shape of the camel ...

Well the 'yes' vote will undoubtedly be honoured by some, and undoubtedly dishonoured by others, and the palpable dishonesty of the enterprise is apparent to all but an elephant with a very thick hide and a very ponderous, lumbering, elephantine way with words.

But enough of the pond editorialising. It is simply enough to wonder and marvel at the way Mr Kelly may make Polonius seem the soul of brevity ...

Uh huh, it is helpful of course if the elephant is also blind Freddie, so that it might ignore the news that an entire raft of right wing ratbags understand what it's all about.

And they're agin it. They're agin it, whether $160 million is spent on the plebiscite and a 'yes' obtained. They're agin it when the sun comes up and they're agin it when the sun goes down. They were agin it yesterday, and they will be agin it tomorrow, whatever anyone might say, do or vote.

So what's all this talk of clarification?

Well that's what ponderous elephants must do ... along with blather about transparent exercises and all the rest of the hoopla ...

Ah yes, sweet Erica. Unwise enough to reveal the blinding truth and the bleeding obvious, which is that a device designed by Abbott to delay and hinder and dissemble has now been adopted by Malware as a way that he hopes will get him home scot-free ...

Now it will be remembered - those who have endured Kelly before and survived to tell the tale - that any talk of gay marriage would not be complete without a deep and meaningful pondering of the issue of religious freedom, which is to say the freedom of religions to go on abusing teh gays ...

So there you go. Same-sex marriage isn't about people being able to declare their love and get hitched (join the pond in trying marriage. Heck, if you like it, you can try it a number of times, just like teh pond and teh Donald).

Instead  apparently it's a same sex lobby wanting to use the notion of same-sex marriage as an ideological device to weaken religious freedom, thereby achieving greater social change.

Which is why people just want to get hitched. Not because they can stand each other's company over dinner and in bed, but because, fuck it, bring on the revolution.

Which is, it goes without saying, not quite the same as those in the lobby who think that this ideological device, this noble cause, is assisted by linking it with religious freedom safeguards so that the revolution can proceed, and in so doing, no doubt weaken religious freedom while deviously pretending to strengthen the right of the religious to abuse teh gays...

Or some such meandering nonsensical thing.

And there's your lecture in paranoia for the week. And whatever you do, please don't mention love and having a  domestic time with your partner of choice ...

All that ponderous pontificating - without one hint of actual humanity, love, pain and the whole damn thing - left the pond in urgent need of distraction, and what better distraction than Rowe re-visiting Tenniel's wonderful illustrations, though it has to be said that Alice in Wonderland makes a lot more sense than current federal politics in the United States ...

Nobody could argue with that, if only the pond could find Nobody so that we might argue with her some more ...

More excellent properly formatted Rowe here, and on to the tea party, and thank the long absent lord Paul Kelly is invited to introduce a level of tepid dullard dullness ...

Of course the nice touch in the Rowe is the way he introduced another character into the tea party:

No wonder Alice is looking a little aged and startled.

And then there were these fine cameos, and who could argue with the fit?

Well Nobody might want to argue about Ted being the Mad Hatter, but the pond has put Nobody in her place ... hmmph, acting as if she was Somebody ...

And let's not forget Bernie, beloved by Colbert ... though it's a pity the rabbit's ears on view in the tea party went missing in this close-up ...

There, at last, all thoughts of Paul Kelly gone ...
