Abbott goes the full Godwin ...

The witty reptiles, in clever Cut and Paste mode, back in January, because human suffering is just so much fun to tweet about:

Uh huh. Because PNG and Cambodia are paradises on earth ...

Now this just in ...

The pond is standing by for the witty tweets sure to follow.

No doubt there'll be an indignant one.

You know, why can't unemployment be debated without false holocaust parallels?

But it's the ones from Chris Kenny and Sharri Markson the pond's really waiting for.

You know.

Dickhead Tony goes full Godwin ...

Or

Foot in mouth disease Tony ... as sensitive as a kick to the crutch ...

Or

How can you compare the unemployed to Holocaust victims? They were gassed, instead of having to survive in Tony Abbott's Australia on a pittance, while writing out endless, meaningless job applications to get the pittance ...

Oops, might have run over the word limit there ...

Here's a cartoon instead, and more Kudelka here.

  1. The use of the word 'holocaust' so carelessly is a mark of Abbott's general insensitivity. It came on the same day as his jut-jawed declaration that he felt no guilt about the little mites imprisoned in unpleasant places.

The coarseness of his discourse is beyond belief. He will never change.

  2. What was he supposed to say? "Suppository" is close enough to repository, but the word he used today is nothing like 'decimation'. Decimation means reduction by one-tenth, which is only what reorganisation by consultancy does.
Anyway, who is monitoring his chip, a la Manchurian Candidate? Is it too late to drag him in for re-programming?

  3. Trust him to sink so low and invoke Godwin’s Law. Only 3 ½ days after the spill. And he was going to change? What a grub!

  5. As Abbott came out with “there was a Holocaust of jobs”, sitting behind him was Pyne nodding vigorously in agreement? Utterly contemptible.

    1. That's Pyne for you, a nasty little GRUB (pronounced the way he does).

    2. I think that even Pyne and Bishop Jr stopped their vigorous nodding as soon as they realised what Tones had said.

Which doesn't do them any particular credit - it just shows that they're quite not as prone to brain farts as their Dear Leader (who didn't seem to be aware yesterday that North Korea's Dear Leader was defunct) .

    3. The foreign minister seemed to spot the dropped penny within a moment or two, and stopped nodding and started snirking at the PMs back..
Pyne simply kept mechanically nodding like the oblivious coked-up clown that he is.

  6. I would say that Malcolm Fraser is wondering what has happened to his beloved Liberal Party and is slightly more than disappointed Abbott won the spill.

Are no Gov members prepared to stand for decency and support the HRC

Human Right Commission has done Australia a great service, it's reputation cannot be damaged by wretched slanders from this Gov.

How many children's lives would need to be destroyed before Gov would express regret or change policy?

Gov response to HR Commission's a disgrace, based on a lie as going to war in Iraq 2003 was based on a lie.

  7. "a kick to the crutch ..."

As usual, a well thought out piece.

I am particularly grateful for the "crutch" reference.

In another place I had the temerity to spell it as you do and was jumped upon by all and sundry for not spelling it "crotch" I've always spelt it with a "u" but my defence fell upon deaf ears (or eyes).

    Cheers....

  8. I have to ask, though, what's Alex Ryvchin - the public affairs director for the Executive Council of Australian Jewry for goodness sakes!- doing talking about "false parallels" with the Holocaust? Is he that uninformed? Surely he's aware that international law vis a vis refugees and asylum seekers was developed PRECISELY BECAUSE, yes, Jews escaping Nazi Germany were returned there and eventually gassed? Doesn't he realize that whenever we talk about our responsibilities to asylum seekers under international law, the Holocaust is the ACTUAL PRECEDENT we rely on? And I suppose it's too much to ask for him to know that asylum seekers we've returned to their country of origin have subsequently been killed too?
