Nice words ...

Nice words from Chairman Rupert demanding action from POTUS on shooting tragedy ....

But how about some bold leadership action? 

For starters, sack Roger Ailes, and make Fox News genuinely fair and balanced ... and willing to address the need for military weaponry in the hands of the unbalanced.

Oops, between bold leadership action, and making money, did the money win?

Poor old big Mal, bemused at the response to his tweet, pondered here:

Mr Turnbull said that the media mogul had an extraordinary ability to influence political opinion in the United States. The political demographic of Fox News viewers was predominantly Republican and not in favour of gun reform, he said, and the network could be a ‘‘game changer’’ on the issue. 
‘‘Is Fox News prepared to run the risk of alienating or offending some of its core demographic?’’ he asked. 
‘‘The New York Times writes editorials calling for gun control; they’re kind of preaching to the choir.’’   

In your dreams Big Mal. Will someone tell him he's dreaming? Preaching to the choir is the way to make money, and who would dare to stand between Chairman Rupert and cash in the paw?

And then big Mal wondered a little more:

Mr Turnbull said he didn’t know whether Mr Murdoch read his tweets: ‘‘I’ve got no idea whether he takes any notice of it at all.’’

Clearly not, big Mal, because Chairman Rupert clearly didn't bite and clearly thinks it's all up to government.

And there the pond was thinking that in the way of things private enterprise was the way forward, because an ethical, dynamic private sector would show government how it's done.

In your dreams, dumb pond. Will someone tell the pond it's dreaming once again ...
