Well, what good is a stupendously wealthy benefactor, then?
Current Rowe is the result of a truly fevered imagination. His Marise Payne is a striking likeness, though.
Out of these ashes ... what? In short, the one whose exaggerated ambitions causes them to seriously compromise their party's ideology by seeking 'temporal power' - ie to join in as part of the core political power play.

All that did for the Aus Democrats and the British Liberal Democrats was to destroy those parties. Maybe the British Lib Dems can recover eventually, but the Aus Dems are gone forever (though there's still a party site vic.australian-democrats.org.au in case you're at all interested).

Of course the Greens do have a world-based cause which the Aus and Brit Dems didn't which may sustain the Aus party until di Natale leaves, but even where Green Parties (as opposed to 'green' parties) have been in existence for a long time (eg Germany, Switzerland), they're still very much outsiders in the perennial game of political power - and so I expect the Aus Greens to remain long after di Natale has tasted his own futility.

But in the meantime, we can expect more 'politically expedient' decisions like preferencing nonentity religious nutters ahead of political enemies such as the ALP.GrueBleennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1462488453822156883.post-27801612649650287322016-06-17T11:03:08.196+10:002016-06-17T11:03:08.196+10:00Hats!Hats!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08158673564017581517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1462488453822156883.post-52935482254842668542016-06-17T11:01:33.793+10:002016-06-17T11:01:33.793+10:00Given that Turnbull feasted on fattoush, I guess t...Given that Turnbull feasted on fattoush, I guess that means he literally "broke bread".GrueBleennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1462488453822156883.post-56417164795974583652016-06-17T10:57:22.202+10:002016-06-17T10:57:22.202+10:00The way I remember it, Anony - though Google obsti...The way I remember it, Anony - though Google obstinately refuses to find me a link - is that until the alection is formally 'commenced' Turnbull and Shorten can charge their campaign travel expenses to the taxpayer as "parliamentary business", but after it is declared formally, parties have to pay their own campaign travelling costs.

It sure makes sense to me then, that they'd want to delay the formal declaration.GrueBleennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1462488453822156883.post-48146883268282528372016-06-17T10:30:37.592+10:002016-06-17T10:30:37.592+10:00Andrew Bolt gives air time to hate preacher.
