In which the reptiles keep up their yowling ...

The pond was torn - there was Michael Cohen heading into the federal courthouse to plead guilty, while Manafort just copped eight guilty verdicts, and cable is in a frenzy, and yet down under, there were the rabid dogs of the Murdochian tabloids howling and yowling as they prepared for a ritual public hanging …

There was no holding back the reptiles at the lizard Oz, and the pond knew which way it had to go … it simply had to acknowledge the festival of the slavering, slobbering hounds …

The hagiography of the mutton Dutton was well under way, with a snap of the happy plod at the top of the digital page … and a surge of reptiles in full feverish frenzy ...

Out of this huge bowl of delights, a trio of terror stuck out …

The wording for Dame Slap and Cory revealed the sort of pathological theological zeal with which the reptiles conduct their political business …

Just allow "a party full of the wrong people" to resonate around in the noggin.

"The wrong people"? Talk about someone with his head stuck up his arse, as close to an undiluted Hyacinth Bucket/Keeping Up Appearances line that the pond has come across in recent times …though pundits might prefer the joke in Yes, Minister

Sir Humphrey: Bernard, if the right people don’t have power, do you know what happens? The wrong people get it: politicians, councillors, ordinary voters!
Bernard: But aren’t they supposed to, in a democracy?
Sir Humphrey: This is a British democracy, Bernard!

This is a Cory democracy, Bernard!

And the same goes for Dame Slap's "Infidel in Howard's broad church"

Infidel? Dear sweet long absent lord, they're vindictive haters when it comes to the crunch. Is there anything worse in the temple of the righteous than to invoke "infidel"?

a person who does not accept a particular faith, especially Christianity.
(in Christian use) an unbeliever, especially a Muslim.
(in Muslim use) a person who does not accept the Islamic faith; kafir.
a person who has no religious faith; unbeliever. (dictionary here).

Never mind, time to get on with the readings, and Dame Slap simply has to go first because she's been blessed with the cult sign of a Lobbecke, and sure enough he follows her lead with religious iconography of the faithful and the satanic heretical swine lurking outside the chapel …(or is that little Johnny locked out? Who knows, deciphering the depths of the Lobbecke is always like finding Jesus in a slice of cheese on toast…)

Look, the pond just has to interrupt here for a ripper Pope cartoon, with more infallible Pope here, as the lad conjures up Lord of the Flies meets Marlon Brando in Apocalypse Now:

Why did the pond find this so funny?

Well, there's the skull for starters …

But that image of the uncouth barbarians at play in the jungle also sets up Dame Slap, because in her next gobbet she does her own version of Hyacinth, with Turnbull is decidedly more ABC than Sky News ...

Yes, we're in the realm of ideological and theological purity worthy of a Stalinist, or perhaps a Monty Python discourse on splitters …

Turnbull is decidedly more ABC than Sky News …

Where does that leave prattling Polonius, who never stops watching the ABC?

Sorry, the pond shouldn't keep interrupting, the comedy stylings play best in an hilarious stream ...

Want a single line to evoke the depth of the delusion?

"That Dutton is the same (as little Johnny) augurs well for him" …though the comparison to former Chairman Rudd as a way of denigrating Malware is right up there …

Dame Slap has always been the queen of hate - Miranda the Devine a mere pretender to the throne - and she's in top notch form … but even she sometimes allows a few saucy doubts and fears to bubble to the surface ...

The rising damp? The cult of personality must go?

But the hagiography and the cult of personality has already begun in the inner city 'leet eerie at Surry Hills …

And so the bromancer … and how to describe his effort?

"Slut" is the word that comes to mind, but that now raises complicated questions of "slut-shaming" and what's wrong with being a slut? After all, the pond has endeavoured to be sluttish throughout its life and has long viewed being a slut as a badge of honour …

Perhaps it would be better to think of a dog, panting with pleasure at the sight of a new master, rolling over and getting its belly rubbed, barking on cue, bouncing about with delight as it comes to heel or gets around behind …

A dog that loves a stern master, a tough guy who will give the dog the discipline that the pooch loves and needs ...

Where does the bromancer jump the shark and reveal his tendency to puppy-like awe at the presence of his new master?

Well surely it comes with the invoking of Winston Churchill, while discussing the mutton Dutton … that's comedy material of an unexpected richness ...

The table of top players?

That's what they call wielders of long knives these days? A willing executioner ready to act as the onion muncher's useful tool, and provide the ultimate revenge?

So it goes with the plod from the deep north, as the theologically and ideologically laden hagiography as the time of the long knives begins, and the the lizards of Oz must begin yet again the renovation and the burnishing of the temple …

Of course the pond prefers alternative visions of the kind conjured up by Rowe this day, with more visionary Rowe here...

  1. Is it just coincidence that Murdoch was in Australia for this overthrow.

    1. Hmm interesting possibility, ww. If I were a dedicated believer in the "everything happens for a reason" delusion set, I might be tempted to believe it.

But I think in this case, Turnbull dragged the whole playlist out of the blue without any prompting or assistance.

Amusing though, that when Turnbull defeated Abbott, he won 54-44 ie only 10 votes. But now a Turnbull 58-45 victory - 13 votes - is somehow catastrophic. If I live to be 1000 I don't think I'll ever understand politics and politicians, especially those who are part of the great international laughing stock joke house we have become.
