In which the onion muncher lingers like a smell in Greasy Joe's ...

The pond decided to pass up the chance to imbibe another glass of frothy Dame Groan climate science denialism …

The country is in safe hands with Angus, a well-known climate denialist, and the reptiles can rest secure in the knowledge that the country is safe for dinkum clean Oz coal oi oi oi …

Angus hates wind energy and experienced a spiritual conversion against renewables, and as an expert climate scientist, he naturally elevated the discussion to the level he understands …

Mr TAYLOR (Hume) (12:36): Religious belief is based on faith not facts. The new climate religion, recruiting disciples every day, has little basis on fact and everything to do with blind faith. The new theologians of the green Left are not focused on the hilltop at Calvary, but on hills closer to home—many in my electorate, near Lake George, Gunning and Crookwell. And heaven help the heretics who question them. If you listen to Labor and the Greens, an immediate shift to renewable energy is necessary to avoid Armageddon. (here).

This has long been known to Greg Huntersand as for Geoff Chambers of the lizard Oz, talk about a safe pair of hands.

What a relief it is to have someone in tune with the hive mind, who can read the entrails and understand  the real meaning of the coup ...that the message on energy policy is pretty clear, and voters can't stand all this talk of climate science and global warming and such nonsense.

Everyone knows it's completely impossible to talk of keeping prices down, reducing emissions and renewable energy at the same time - in the way that rubbing the belly and tapping the noggin is tricky - and so the only solution is dinkum clean Oz coal, oi, oi, oi …

Of course there are other accident scenes the pond could have attended, such as the lament by Turnbull junior, in full at Fairfax here, wherein the son tried to reclaim the climate science credentials lost by Malware on a Sydney bus some considerable time ago …

Of course the punchline to that yarn came with this …

….the Singapore-based fund manager told Fairfax Media the Liberal Party faced being hijacked by financial interests that stood to make windfall profits if coal-related assets were bolstered by taxpayers. Those interests “have their hooks into the Liberal Party ... which has no money”, Mr Turnbull said, adding that returns could be "100 to 1" if policies fall investors' way. Mr Turnbull's experience includes a stint at investment banking giant Goldman Sachs. Some of his work has also involved trading debt for Australian-based coal-fired power plants, giving him insights into that industry's outlook. “If you create such an environment – with such a high rate of return – you’ll see a lot more of that [influence peddling],” he said.

And so, speaking of influence peddling and that deep love of clean Oz coal, oi, oi, oi, the pond felt the time was right to drop in on the lizard Oz editorialist to get the official line on what to think …

Get to the coalface? Build bridges, mend fences, and perhaps get started on some of that dinkum clean Oz coal, oi, oi, oi?

But what about the onion muncher? He's got so much to offer coal lovers …

Will ye no' come back again?
Will ye no' come back again?
Better lo'ed ye canna be
Will ye no' come back again?
Ye trusted in your Hieland men
They trusted you, dear coal-loving onion muncher … (sing along here)

And so to the yearning ...

And there you have it … We can only ponder why, and marvel at the relief Labor must feel at the Coalition's greatest political warrior not being given a frontline role …

How they love the onion muncher, a love that's wild and passionate, and perhaps delusional to the point of madness …

The pond has no idea what comrade Bill thinks, but not having the onion muncher in a frontline role to kick around must be a matter of great regret …

Naturally, the readership were at one with the lizard Oz editorialist …

And Mandy took a view too, showing that One Nation has its fair share of lizard Oz readers ...

Medvedev? How did he get into the discussion?

But then came a real ripper, a comment which showed how the reptiles really do have a fine readership, always ready to howl at the moon …

By golly, that sounded like a liberty-seeker in urgent need of a Donald cartoon, and with that the pond could end in its usual way by catching up on a few cartoons from abroad …

Yep, this is definitely the unreal unreality meme of the week: how the all powerful Muncher would simply take over this wide brown land in a twinkle. Why even the Flinty one was just saying the other day that the evil Shortn'd Lefties were in a lather: "...absolutely terrified of your [Onion Muncher's] return because they know that if you were prime minister, you would win the next election and win it in a landslide".

One can only gaze in total wonder at such as these and ask, yet again, how could it have been that such an amazingly powerful leader got dumped 54-44 in a leadeship spill. Mybe because the all-powerful Murdoch was temporarily blindsided by the mighty Soros and the spill got snuck through before his vision cleared again ?
