In which the pond seeks refuge with the Major ...

What, no Oreo on a Monday?

This surely portends the decline and fall of the holy reptile Empire …

But before moving on to that, the pond is increasingly bemused by the reptile dilemma in relation to Malware and Newspoll.

Luckily this can be quickly covered in a few tweets and splashes …

As the government loses an umpteenth two party preferred poll, it's all hands on deck ...

The reptiles' other solution to their dilemma?

Report on a different horse race …though sadly the truth has to occasionally shine through …

Talk about worrisome.

The problem you see, is that the onion muncher's leadership prospects long ago fell into a hole, with each increasingly desperate bout of narcissist attention-seeking, so the reptiles had to circle the wagons, and circle they did …

Oops, the pond apologises for the onion muncher somehow getting his photo featured once again, because enough of news by tweet and splash, suitable for mobile phone use, luckily it's still time for the Major on a Monday …

Good old Major, it's another 'rally the troops' message, and desperately needed.

Each time the pond wanders up King street, there's not a news agency to be seen, and very few sitting at tables in cafes reading some tree killer edition of any form.

Instead there are hordes of zombies gazing at small screens, and the pond has to resist the temptation each day to get out the cell phone and reflexively take a snap of the zombies taking snaps or gazing into their digital void …

Now of course the pond understands this is merely a bunch of inner city 'leets and no doubt the view from the bunker in outer western Surry Hills is different, and given this observable reptile reality, the Major is just the right man to rally the troops …

The broad trend?

The pond doesn't much like it, but isn't it about time the Major gave up his addiction to tree-killing?

Hmm, what was that meme?

Well there's only one clutching gobbet  to go …

Sad really …of all the gormless,  useless media campaigns, the 'we're with you' routine took the News Corp cake for irrelevance …

They're not for the pond …

And what were they peddling? Well,  it wasn't tree killer editions …

 -

Tragic, and all more so when the reptiles are so inept at social media …

Look at the response that turned up when Matt Canavan, to the great dismay of the reptiles, committed a coal heresy …

Talk about low rent, talk about a lack of class …

The pond is much more sophisticated.

It would never allow that sort of cheap joke to appear on its pages, it much prefers toney, classy, stylish, swank, modish humour of the Rowe kind, with more super-elegant Rowe, as always, here ...

    1. I read the news today, oh boy
About a lucky man who made the grade
And though the news was rather sad
Well, I just had to laugh
      I saw the photograph

He blew his mind out in a car
He didn't notice that the lights had changed
A crowd of people stood and stared
      They'd seen his face before
Nobody was really sure if he was from the House of Trump

Yep that'd signal loud and strong to me that "We're for you"
      How about you ?

  2. Somewhere in the rest of the world, they have media musuems where occasional links are made to a little-read organ in Australia wherein the ex-editor (I know, it's an Australian thing) regularly writes columns about the life-blood in print publishing.

Tutors bring these tales to the attention of classes, all laugh broadly at the idea on their way to the media of the "here, now and the future" components in the museum.
