In which the pond must do its onion-munching duty ...

Many a day, the pond wishes the pond wasn't the pond, and could follow its heart freely, even unto the land of Swiss bank account man Gra Gra …

The real story this day, one that rarely surfaces in the lizard Oz, is the way that Andrew Wilkie and a few other brave politicians are beavering away at the East Timor scandal … as noted in the ABC here. with letter and active links ...

But alas and alack, the conspiracy will continue, and the pond is a haven for reptiles, a dinosaur park where the wild things may freely roam, and we all know how that movie franchise always plays out …

The reptiles go feral, and is there a more feral reptile to be found than the onion muncher, who has now hit on a Trumpian solution to maintain his rage at Malware?

Naturally the other reptiles encourage him, and even though the latest attention-seeking from the narcissist had been indulged the day before, the reptiles put him back at the top of the opinion page today …

And so reluctantly, the pond was compelled to follow, desperate to find any sort of upside … and luckily there was, because there was a chance for Rowe to set the tone … with more tone-setting Rowe here

Yes, it would be a chance to hang out a few Donald cartoons, and watch as they blimped their way through the air, and it only took a little imagination to substitute a little green onion muncher for that Ruski sprite on top of the Donald ...

Well the pond has been there before, and it felt right for the onion muncher to be tentatively moving to the Donald camp …

Of course there's a price to pay for the cartoons, and that's another gobbet of onion-muncher, and anyone asking whether the strutting, posing, narcissist attention seeker will ever give up should remember that the pond had tried to be discreet, and elided over the shocking reality at the top of the lizard digital opinion page …

Some just want to do a Billy Hughes and hang around forever … so best to get it over with ...

My instinct …?

The pond's instinct is that the onion muncher only has to take a pee in the park for the reptiles to rush an edited extract to the top of digital opinion page, with nary a thought about the way we've been there before with the onion muncher's famous instinct …

If the nation's safety rests in the hands of the onion muncher, then the long absent lord save us all … (and there's more of the occasionally Pythonish Pope here).

And so to a few more cartoons …

  2. Some time ago a crazy dream came to me
I dreamt I was walking to World War Three
I went to the doctor the very next day
To see what kind of words he could say
He said it was a bad dream
"I wouldn’t worry about it none, though
Them old dreams are only in your head"

I said “Hold it Doc, a World War passed through my brain”
He said “Nurse, get your pad, the Onion Muncher's insane”
He grabbed my arm, I said “Ouch!”
As I landed on the psychiatric couch
He said “Tell me about it”

And now we can't stop him telling us about it and about. Which reminds me:

Myself when young did eagerly frequent
Doctor and Saint, and heard great argument
About it and about: but evermore
Came out by the same door where in I went.

    Hmm, and how about:

And do you think that unto such as you,
    A maggot-minded, starved, fanatic crew,
God gave the secret, and denied it me?—
Well, well, what matters it! believe that too.
