In which Dame Slap dons a MIGA cap

The pond regrets that presidential politics is currently dominating proceedings, but the pond is a mere cork bobbing on the reptile ocean, and when Dame Slap returns, the pond must go where Dame Slap goes, ye even unto a conspiracy involving the UN using climate science to establish world government ...

It means she's ideally placed to talk about a post-truth, no-trust world ...

It's not as if the reptiles didn't provide other examples of loonacy this day...

But the pond can never ignore Dame Slap, even if it turns out that Dame Slap is just channelling Adam Goodman of the Tampa Bay Times and Why Oprah for president makes sense ...

But all that proves is that Dame Slap is deeply in touch with the cosmic zeitgeist - it explains why she can sniff out an international conspiracy in a flash - and the way that the reptiles selected the same photo just confirms her Jungian affinity with the archetype ...

And of course Dame Slap can also be relied upon to supply her own unique post-modern, post-ironic satirical sense of whimsy ...

So enough of that Tampa Bay nonsense and on with Dame Slap, though it's true that the moment Dame Slap makes a suggestion, dons a Make Irony Great Again cap, the pond's hair trembles on the neck, and the hackles begin to rise, and the Tamworth cur in the pond begins to growl...

But please, let's give Dame Slap a fair go ...and please, oh pretty please, allow the Dame to start by mentioning her astonishing affinity with the zeitgeist ...

Hmm, strange that Dame Slap doesn't mention reality showbiz TV star Donald by name, though his ratings have been taking a tumble of late, as featured on Morning Joe ...

That'd be the 18-34 demographic and as any TV executive can tell you, that's the demographic where it's at, because the one thing you can say about the older demographics with some certainty is that in due course they'll be leaving the scene ...

As for that new-age religious leader in a secular age - Dame Slap is always tedious when she goes the snark, as if she's some Southern Baptist devout believer - and her piece features a couple of couch potatoes paying homage in the only way they know how ...

But why that sort of illustration?

Speaking of snark, they could have shown the Donald in his natural showbiz element ...

Or they could at least have given us a cartoon offering the Donald a strategy in 2020 ...

But no, the woman who discovered the UN is using climate science to introduce a world government, and possibly by Xmas, has things to say about truth in a post-truth world ... naturally using the royal "we", because Dame Slap humbly speaks for all of us ...

And at the same time, Dame Slap can't resist slipping in a defence of the Donald ...

Actually, consider that at one point, Dame Slap was so deep in bed with the denialists and a faux lord that she talked of the UN, climate science and world government, and consider now the way that indirectly she still seeks to redeem the Donald and to deny the Wolff, though it's perfectly apparent that most of what Wolff wrote about had already been observed, directly or indirectly ...

For some reason the reptiles decided this sort of illustration, of a Kenyan-born socialist interloper, was appropriate ...

... when the might have offered a cartoon summarising Dame Slap's piece in a single image ...

Well it wouldn't be a genuine reptile piece - feel the original crocodile skin texture - if at some point "virtue signalling" wasn't used ...

Let's see how Dame Slap goes with that one ...

Of course Dame Slap passed the "virtue signalling" test.  How could anyone be of such little faith as to doubt her?

She sails through such petty examinations, though by this point the pond had tired of Donald cartoons, and thought it might just slip in a few Steve Bannon jokes, before their currency hits a bitcoin slump ...

And so it's on to what might be called Dame Slap's "pox on all of them" speech, with valiant talk of celebrities, populists and political snake-oil salesmen of the Donald kind resonating with voters and filling a monumental values vacuuem, and even more splendidly, in these days of talk of shitholes, espousing traditional values ...

Right there at the end, Dame Slap drifts off into nihilism, and perhaps soon enough she'll be embracing anarchism or at least anarcho-syndicalism as a way to make sense of it all.

But here's the thing, that mocking of Oprah and that defensive disdain of the Donald, filled at the same time with a lingering covert approval. It was just under a year ago that Dame Slap was slipping out into the streets of New York, wearing a MAGA cap and celebrating the arrival of a new Messiah ...

Almost a year later and the shit-storm is in full swing, and no, Trump v Oprah doesn't make sense at all, just like the Donald, an incoherent, rambling narcissist with an infinite capacity for lying doesn't make sense, and the United States is currently stumbling beyond the valley of the crazy, and for once you can't blame it on left-liberals, though you might want to thoroughly cross-examine Murdochians of the Dame Slap kind ... as if their intention was to make everyone sigh for the good old days of George W. Bush ...

It's all such a distraction that the pond barely has time for the domestic crazy, but fortunately that's what the Pope is for, with more papal insights available here ...

... though the pond isn't sure Pope should be apologising to Mary Shelley, because the bride in the novel never really gets finished, and she really only gets to stalk the earth like a Dame Slap impersonator in the movies ... or so Greg Hunters will discover here ...

  1. Good choice DP, just when the class was getting distracted by the Donald’s increasingly puerile shenanigans, the Dame enters the room to slap some sense into us.

Her lesson for today is how billionaire celebrities like Trump and Oprah are refreshingly zeitgeistian anti-government mavericks who like, really truly, speak up for us little people against untrustworthy politicians and corrupt institutions.

Miss Albrechtson wants us to pay attention and learn about a brave new world where anti-institutional personalities strive unselfishly to attain the highest institutional office on earth in order to de-institutionalise the institutions.

Seriously though, Dame Slap’s remark about presidential and other high office candidates only needing to “mobilise sentiment” is simply doublespeak for the calculated unleashing of violent divisionism amongst voters.

    1. Anyone remember when the Slappy Dame loved Sarah Palin. Such a good judge of character and so prescient at pointing to the next big thing that show how conservatism or anything anti-'left' is the way forward.
