In which the pond reverts to TGIF form and shares lunch with Terrorist Sharri ...

Ah Ballarat by dawn's early light ...

By golly the burghers were cashed up after the gold rush days and spent a little bit on the y'artz, with the Art Gallery offering some fine examples for a regional gallery ...

But enough of the pond's memories of its tour, because duty calls, and the pond decided to trudge back to see what Sharri of the Terror was up to this day ...

Malware's a goer? Malware's hot to trot? Malware's shuffling the deck and producing winners?

Well it seems only fair - after this morning's epic Stoning - to look at the glass half full, to take in the bright side of life ...

By golly that blank, open-mouthed look eerily reminds the pond of another meme doing the rounds ...

What a hoot that was, but sorry, this is serious, and serious Sharri has important things to reveal ...

Now it goes without saying that Sharri has spent the last few months generating columns explaining how Malware was safe for the moment, balanced by stories explaining how the sharks were circling and soon he'd be gone faster than a bag of burley ...

But that was then, fully a month ago, and the pond blames it all on frivolous Sharri ...

Today thinking Sharri is in the ascendant, the moon is in the seventh house, Jupiter aligns with Mars, peace will guide the planets, love will steer the stars, and the pond is prepared to listen to Sharri listening to Malware's schemes and plans and hopes and dreams...

The illustration shows just how serious the Terror can get ...

Et tu George? After all you've done for him and cartoonists?

But back to serious Sharri and the shuffle, and a metaphor that's on the tip of the pond's tongue ...

Say what? Kevin Andrews has the advantage of being a female? Oh, Karen Andrews?

Never heard of her, and since Sharri dangling left her dangling like a participle, without purpose, office, or chair, it's possible the pond never will.

Never mind, the pond's certain that was just a clever Sharri ploy to distract the pond from the metaphor that was coming to mind ... it's not just shuffling cards, it's shuffling chairs ...

And so to the mystery of the Andrews being resolved, and a little more shuffling and reshuffling and huffing and puffing and ... watch out, icebergs ahead ...

Whenever Sharri talks of Malware in the ascendant - at least until next week's column - the pond is irresistibly reminded of a bleak railway platform in Ballarat ... or perhaps a forlorn coffee in a dark Hopperish cafe ...

But enough of all the meaningless shuffling, it's time to end with a Pope, and more papal insights are available here ...

  1. Well, well well....... so as the audited circulation of the Catholic Boys Daily continues to sink (falling around 5% in the last 12 months, and now down to under 95,000 copies a day), along with that of all the other News shit-rags, what bold action does the Chairman take? Why, he removes them from the aforementioned audit process!

    https://www.theguardian.com/media/2017/dec/15/here-isnt-the-news-murdoch-papers-bow-out-of-sales-audit

    I loved this explanation / justification -
    >>News Corp will now rely on a measurement it created with other publishers back in 2013: Enhanced Media Metrics Australia (Emma) which promotes readership numbers, rather than circulation, as the key metric and is based on asking survey questions. News Corp says the circulation figures are “no longer a representative measure of today’s cross-platform audiences”.>>

So basically, forget about facts; ie, actual sales. Rather, it's all about "the vibe".

Perhaps as well as featuring scribblers from the Australian Spectator, perhaps the Chairman is aiming for similar circulation figures?
