In which the pond checks the reptiles urging on a cash-less society ...

Only an infallible Pope could fuse the NBN cock-up with the Cash catastrophe - more papal fusings here - but it left the pond with an agonising choice.

Should it watch as the reptiles once more, belatedly, with no remorse, but with monstrous stupidity, attempt to deal with the NBN disaster?

But the pond is over it.

At the moment the drop-outs are down to about once the half hour, and each time it happens the malevolent hatred of the malicious Malware courses through the pond's veins ...

What delight instead to observe another singular act of Malware incompetence, especially as the Cash crisis has seen all the Malware knockers come out in force in News Corp rags.

Now it's not the pond's observation alone that Malware doesn't do dirty politics well.

After all, the Godwin Gretch affair showed him at peak doofus, and soon enough the wits have been out and about with yarns like How the Shorten raid went south: Constable Godwin Gretch reveals all ...

It seemed the right moment to catch up on the Terrorists ... even the news story had a gloomy air, with a montage of Cash doing beats for comment ...

Naturally Sharri was also on the case ...

Not the roadrunner comparison, please, anything but the road runner comparison ...

A gross overreach?

There's hardly any need for the pond to add anything. When even your organisation buddies give Sharri's anti-Malware streak free rein, how long can the doofus last? Will the Acme rocket kit flame out?

What a relief. Not the talk of classic overreach by Ms Cash, but the tabloid Terrorists at last heeding the pond's cry to think of the needs of the mature gentleman reader, the sort of ageing old male that makes up their thugby league demographic ...

Now it takes considerable skill to work in a reference to Kathy Jackson, but your tabloid Terrorist sub knows what to do ...

If there are no Kathy Jackson-style allegations, then in dire emergency, break glass and reach for a photo, because what we need immediately is a photo of a Kathy Jackson-style moment...

Now that blather about it all being an operational matter can't conceal the nature, style and size of the raid, all bunged on as a bit of theatre for a salivating and forewarned media ... so naturally Sharri's sub turned to shots of Constable Godwin Gretch in action ...

For once the pond has to agree with Sharri. Comrade Bill isn't the sort of person who exudes a natural warmth, so it takes a singular level of incompetence to make him seem persecuted and hard done by.

Yet the man who gave the country a broken NBN managed this, while at the same time only managing a level of what might be termed implausible deniability.

Naturally Sharri does her best to redeem things by talking of the deplorable GetUp!, a shocking lobby group, while the sweet, innocent IPA and big business lobby groups go about their business with nary a cross word said against them ...

So how far have the mighty fallen? What do the anti-Malware forces think? Well it's oh bliss, oh poop days at the moment ...

First came the Bolter ...

And then came the Bolter wannabe little Timmie ...

And then from the deep north came red wine addicted Terry Sweetman. We can gather from his tweets his natural inclination ...

Re-tweeting Jonathan Green?

And his column continued on in the same way ...

No doubt the High Court will soon sweep all this away ... no doubt Malware will expect it all to blow over, and as the Murdochians have the attention span of gnats, that's a possibility ...

But each time the pond's NBN connection drops out - the next one is due shortly - it will remember Malware, and the ancient tribal hate will stir again ...

Utegate!

Utegate porportions!

And then there's the NBN, and the next drop out due shortly ... Utegate NBN proportions!

And so Malware has, thanks to Cash, revived ancient memories of marvellous incompetence and sublime hypocrisy and massively inept political folly ....

Virgins in a pagan temple? What happened to the sacrificial goats waiting to pour their blood into the demented volcanoes?

It doesn't much matter what the High Court decides, Malware is on the skids ... because every day somewhere in the country someone using the NBN will be reminded of what he gave them ...

Never mind, it turns out that all the fuss was just a slow drum roll build to a ba-boom cartoon by the immortal Rowe, with more excellent Rowe here ...

Forget the waiting room, if this was at the supermarket check-out, what sales there'd be ... to fill in the moments when the NBN is down ...

  1. Lairy Sharri: "Don't get me wrong, GetUp! can leave be distatseful, to put it mildly. "

    Que ?

Sharri again: "GetUp! pretends to be impartial while using its multimillion-dollar war chest to campaign against Turnbull government ministers ..."

Well I'd reckon that was quite impartial, since I can't find a single Shorten government minister for GetUp! to campaign agaunst. Maybe Sharri - or even Michaelia - knows where to find some ? Besides, isn't that what Tones is also doing ?

  2. Talking about Malware's incompetence, they are trying to make the Redress Scheme that came out of the child sex abuse RC exclude anyone with 'a serious criminal conviction' from receiving any compensation money.

Should save the govt the odd buck or two. I wonder what went on in Porter's "deep consultations"? What a wanker.

  3. One so often forget about little Timmeh the Bolt-wannabe.

There he sits, patiently 11th or 12th in the News rankings of reactionary ranters, doomed perhaps to forgotten in perpetuity as the heavyweights bleat the good bleat every day, every week.

Chin up Timmeh, your time will come. Not.

  4. Conservative dickheads and the Right in general just make me want to to spew.

The deadshits never miss a chance to bore the crap out of the nation with sanctimonious exhortations about 'individualism' and the need to 'take responsibility for your own circumstances' ... but when it looks like they've stuffed up mightily it ALWAYS seems to be someone else's fault !!

    Stinking. Fucking. Hypocrites.
