In which the pond seeks out its Thursday serve of savvy Savva ...

While the reptiles in the digital lizard Oz pause to admire the iceberg, the HUN and the Terror keep floating along with the Bolter ...

Oh we've been to this table many times before ...

And dammit, the reptiles are still at it whenever the pond lands on the front page ...

But how to improve on Bolter climate denialism perfection? Just keep going with your current business settings and all will be well ... you can trust the pond on that one ...

Yes, it's just another day in routine Murdochian climate denialism, but this is the day that the pond reserves for the savvy Savva, who always passes on the insider story, straight from Malware's desk ...

Uh huh. Would that be Jim "the jabberer" Molan, the overbearing loudmouth who infests vast swathes of the ABC, and makes their broadcaster uninhabitable for rational discussion or even discreet observation?

It is Jimbo, Jim me lad, and straightaway, shiver me timbers, the pond felt the need to go into Robert Newton pirate mode: smart as paint he is, that Jim lad, though in the context of the news from Antarctica, perhaps talk of a canary in a coalmine wasn't the most useful metaphor ... because if Jim's the top candidate solution to the problem, things are much worse than the pond imagined ...

What's so funny about this? Well jumbo Jim has long been a friend of the onion muncher ... witness the reptiles mourning his previous passing ...

"Democratise the party" was of course code for onion munching the party ...

Now Molan has his critics (cf Robert Manne here), but what's remarkable is the way that the savvy Savva (and so, it can be safely assumed, Malware) see Molan as some sort of redeeming agent who might help in their salvation ... while the internal war goes on and keeps heating up, thanks to the onion muncher's insatiable, demonic desire for revenge ...

So jumbo Jim is the peace offering? Around this point, the pond felt a desperate need for another cartoon ... everybody compromises, and the onion muncher, and so the country, end up shivering their timbers with jabbering Jim ...

It's not just ABC viewers that must suffer, it's the citizens of Eden-Monaro ... because they will vote for their sole candidate, because that's all that'll be on the menu if jabbering Jim decides to run ...

And there, shiver me timbers, Jim lad, is democracy at work for you ... if democracy deigns to run ...

And so to the last of the Savva ...

And so from the man who brought you the NBN ...

... the man deep into political philosophising ...

... comes the latest impotent thought bubble ...

Time for a last cartoon ...

  1. Seeing Molan with a chest full of tin there made me think of the Abbott's Border Force announcement - uniforms! medals! flags! Dressing up is very important to the conservatives.

We are fortunate to live in a time when we don't have any immediate military threat, however the reptiles would have us believe our very existence is at risk. Oddly, they ignore climate change - go figure.

  2. Yes indeed, the Righteous Wingnuts do like dressing up - and making everybody else dress up too. Like John Hayes, who doesn't care if you're too disabled to tie a tie, you've gotta put one on anyway. But I can never make out whether these folks really believe what they profess, or they're just sucker baiting either themselves or us or both. It's a mystery.

And just as much a mystery is whether they actually believe that our civilization is on its "last gasp" and that our very existence is at risk. And if they do believe this, why they're not actually doing anything about it. Just like Dame Slap used to be sure that 'climate change' (aka 'global warming') was a UN plot to impose World Government, but she never ever did anything about it. Ditto Moorice.

Maybe it's a left brain/right brain thing: the left brain belives one thing and the right brain believes the opposite, and it all depends on which brain takes control of the typing fingers at any given time.

  3. Rupert's brain I suspect. But I always wonder the same thing - do they believe it (being delusional), do they think I should believe it (being as stupid as I am) or are they just lickspittles doing the masters bidding?
