In which faux bigoted reptile scribblers are worse than no scribblers at all ...

Or perhaps it's the beginning of mass mayhem, mass hysteria and mass stupidity ...

Speaking of mass hysteria, the reptiles are in a frenzy, and nothing can be said to calm them or sooth their fears, as they lash out at everyone ...

There was the Devine at the Terror ...

Actually the pond will go on defaming the Devine and her bigoted Catholic fundamentalism until the cows come home, there being much shared between her and Daesh when it comes to gays and gay marriage.

If the Devine represents western civilisation, then it's truly fucked ... fundamentalist bigotry of any kind deserves ongoing cultural defamation, and any other defamation the pond can round up ...

And speaking of fundamentalist Catholic loons scribbling furiously for the Catholic Boys' Daily ...

Oh not that tired old saw ... when everyone is roaming around jumping at Daesh shadows, just as the terrorists want,  while armchair warriors of the bromancer school of neo-realism boast about how they're calling it for what it is ...

Meanwhile, in the frenzy, there's plenty of room for point scoring. Cue the dog botherer, still gnawing at his pet bone ...

And when not tarring and feathering refugees, naturally it's all Comrade Bill's fault ...

Oh perhaps that splash doesn't make it clear enough ...

The pond has no idea why the reptiles decided to soften Chambers' splash, talking of the "failure to get language right" and Australians being fed up with the "failure of politicians to call a spade a bromancing spade", when really it was just a chance to dish it up to comrade Bill and his shadow cabinet...

Come together in the face of terrorism? Yeah, sure thing, Geoff baby ...

The pond considers it a fuckwitted Chambers' failure to call a spade a spade. Why couldn't he say right up front he wanted to have a splash at Comrade Bill, and save the pond the tedium of looking him up in google to see what he meant ...

But it was Dame Slap, reasserting her right to be the queen bee harridan bitch from hell who stole the show this day, as she usually does each Wednesday ... and so the pond used her as the sock puppet representative for all the reptiles out and about Islamic, Comrade Bill and refugee bashing this day...

Now the pond can understand that Dame Slap was just doing a Donald by having a go at Sadiq Khan ... fundamentalist bigots together, they have about as much compassion as a gnat in winter ...but how did Waleed Aly end up in the same sentence in the splash?

Was he somehow involved in the London terrorist incident? Perhaps he was involved in the terrorist matter in Brighton?

Now the problem with taking it out on Khan is that the results, pace the Donald, aren't always as intended, as can be read in Twitter users defend London mayor against Donald Trump taunts ... and London attack: US mayors come together to praise Sadiq Kahn - in stark contrast with Trump ...

While others were celebrating the gay man who went back to the restaurant to pay his bill, leave a tip, and continue on his path of G and Ts and flirting, the Donald's feud with Khan was promoting an anti-Trump backlash ...

...the Khan-Trump feud shows the remarkable backlash that’s brewing across the Western world to the American president. Politicians like Khan, who champion equality and internationalism, have everything to gain by attacking Trump given his historic unpopularity there. You’ve seen it recently with Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel; now you’re seeing it with the mayor of London and other British politicians.
“Driving Muslims away isn’t going to make the [jihadist] problem go away; it’s going to exacerbate the problem,” Mike Katz, a Labour candidate for Parliament in northern London, said when I asked him about Trump at a campaign event on Sunday. “What greater cheerleader do we have for saying Muslims have no place in liberal democracy than the president of the United States?”

Actually might the pond humbly propose Dame Slap and the reptiles of Oz as great cheerleaders for alienating moderate Muslims and supporting the Daesh campaign for total warfare and hate?

So little time, so much hate of the other ... so much so that Dame Slap shamelessly conflates Khan with Waleed Aly ... in distilled essence of bigotry on parade ...

And there you have it, as naked and as arrogant as that, the points of distinction, between a darkie, and a white Christian prime minister.

It was like centuries had vanished and the pond was back in Victorian England, or perhaps reciting Rudyard Kipling's poem about the white Christian woman's burden ...

And the next Dame Slap gobbet took the pond to even stranger places ...

Say what?

The Treaty of Westphalia, which put an end to the Irish troubles in 1648, so that nary a word was heard about Protestants and Catholics in that country once it was re-united in 1916?

Say waht?

Augustine of Hippo, the brewer's friend?

That was found on a particularly reprehensible site here,  and apart from the saint sounding like the typical puritanism to be found in Daesh, the pond was particularly startled by, and attracted to, that line "Here we do not speak evil of anyone."

Of course Dame Slap and the reptiles have given a modern gloss that line - "Here we speak evil of everyone, especially Waleed Aly."

There is of course an enormous stupidity involved in framing the war with Daesh along the lines of Xians v. Islamics ...it's what they want, and it muddies everything with theological animosity ...

Never mind, anyone who can't get enough of Augustine can do a Greg Hunt here - beware of southern walri steeped in original sin - because it's time to get back to speaking evil of Waleed Aly ...

Actually as fundamentalist Jews in Israel routinely prove, the Jewish religion hasn't been there and done that. It's still doing it ... in much the same way as fundamentalist Catholic bigots, some scribbling furiously for the Catholic Boys' Daily, routinely prove that a somewhat liberal Pope has a long and arduous road to trudge ...

It's possible to imagine a more inflammatory and offensive piece than the one written by Dame Slap ... but for that the pond would probably have to turn to one of Daesh's propagandists ...

What's remarkable is the bitterness displayed towards Waleed Aly, the sheer venom and vindictiveness on display.

Why Aly should be burdened with the duty of removing terrorism from the world and reforming Islamic fundamentalism can only be seen through the distorting mirror of Dame Slap's spite-laden spittle ...

Why should Aly be expected to sound like Dame Slap and mouth of her inane stupidities and bigoted reactionary hate speech? What good is that going to do the world, except perhaps inflame and radicalise a few more moderate folk, and turn them into raging tub-thumpers of the Dame Slap kind?

The pond has no desire to defend Aly ...after all, the moment The Minefield comes within earshot, the pond is out of there, though to be fair, that's because listening to Scott Stephens for more than a nanosecond is unendurable ...though Aly's capacity for waffle should never be under-estimated.

As for all this talk of Dame Slap talk of modernity, the pond is starting to hunger for the good old days of climate denialism, clean coal, and copper as the 21st century vehicle for the internet ...right up there with the invocation of medieval saints as the way forward.

Augustine of Hippo? Yep, he'd probably be a clean coal and copper lover, and so to the Rowe cartoon of the day, and the gods that the reptiles worship, with more Rowe here ...

  1. Some days you just can't be bothered really. You hope that Mike Carlton has covered it succinctly for you.

    And he has!

You could not parody The Oz today. It has hit peak hysterics, snarling and bellowing, beyond satire.

    1. Don't count on this being "peak hysterics", vc, I reckon they're just getting started. I say that because I thought the Oreole's most recent contribution was "peak" until we got today's Slapper.

    2. Indeed GB, the Slapper today was the sort of thing that editors must dread - wheels spinning, axles screaming, the very epitome of "the unhinging".

In a gentler mode, Mike Carlton posted a nice image of Phyllis Diller to assist those who don't read the Slapper by habit. And more power to their arms too - imagine not getting a piece of Dame Slap week in week out? No wonder the country is going to hell.

    3. A week without the Slapper ! Oh no, say it could never be so.

Actually, I think I did experiece some peak reading the beloved Hairoiled Scum at my lieu de cafe yesterday. It had a column by none other than Jeff Kennett decrying the horrors of 'trolling'. So, courtesy of Google cache, Let me quote:

I am no innocent in this area [use of profanity and words that convey or represent loathing if not hate], but recent events have caused me to rethink the language I use

There is no doubt in times like this with so much unacceptable activity occurring in other parts of the world we have to be vigilant, against all premeditated acts of violence, particularly given Australia’s military involvement in many countries today and over the past 20 years.

So we should not be surprised if we are targeted by individuals from time to time, and maybe one day in an organised fashion
      .

And Jeffy then went on to demonstrate his enlightening epiphany by ... complaining about some Leftist thug calling Margaret Court a "homophobe". Isn't that just shocking ? No Murdochrat would ever abuse 'freedom of speech' so egregiously.

PS A bit slow, but I've finally noticed how much alike in your intro photos are the faces in the top left and top second from the right. Sympatico !

  2. What the f..k was Dame Slap doing? Well she was doing her darndest to fan the flames of fear and paranoia amongst the masses of course. In other words doing just what the terrorists want. Her crusading “us and them” herptilian vomit of hate is a typical case of the Donald's loving minions taking his disgusting tweet about Khan as licence to stick the boot in.

Slap quotes May as saying “Defeating Islamist ideology is the greatest challenge of our time”, when she knows full well May was referring to Islamic extremism, calling it a "perversion of Islam". This is an outright intentional misquote selected to inflame the bigots.

The Slapper is all out implying that because Sadiq is a Muslim he espouses terrorism which is like saying if you’re a Catholic you embrace pedophilia. Saying Khan should have said what May said is ludicrous. What May really meant when she said “things need to change” was “let's bring in more draconian legislation and less human rights, more surveillance, more of our beloved CCTV”. Of course the phrase is meaningless if you don’t provide details, which naturally the PM didn’t.

  3. Gotta laugh out loud when the slap tells us that the christian message is "spiritual". Christianity became an entirely political "religion" when it was coopted by Constantine, and it thus became the world dominant "religion" via the business end of Constantine's famous sword.

And what has "living in exile" a very long time ago got to do with understanding the human situation in the 21st century" especially when everything and everyone is now instantaneously interconnected.

    1. And it wasn't very spiritual back in the 8th century either when the RC church perpetrated the 'Donation of Constantine' fraud. But then all sorts of good things come your way when you are the sole State Church,
