In which the pond roams from feminist religions to the suffering of the banks, thanks to the Oz editorialist ...

Fridays aren't the best time for reptile spotters of the lizard Oz loving kind.

Sure it's quaint to see a dodderer try to paint Malware as a Keynesian, but then hookers on the Gold Coast are just entrepreneurs and small business people working for a living ...

Sure it's good the reptiles are lathering up a class war ...

But this is all pro forma stuff, and the pickings are slim on a Friday.

Lately the reptiles have taken to raiding the crypt and wheeling out the political dead ...

Well, he'd know, having set it in motion, for those who care to wander back to Fairfax in 2002, and Gas boom as China signs $25bn deal, and the dig it up and ship it out movement really got going ...

Copious tears might also be shed for the filthy rich heavy lifters...

Eek, there's a graph ... Alan Kohler will be pleased.

But when all else fails, there's the enduring fascination with Islam bashing...

Of course it's the urbane Urban, and the reptiles are now so reflexive they remain completely unaware of their morbid fascination, their compulsion, to poke at Islam with a stick.

Many churches and theological delusions like to pretend that they're feminist or that their teaching is feminist at heart - it explains why patriarchies run the churches - but the reptiles don't blather on at tedious length about them. It's only the pesky, difficult Islamics that cop the pounding.

But wander the full to overflowing intertubes and you can find teen clickbait of the Catholic kind, blathering on about Catholicism, Gender Equality and Jesus as a Feminist ...

Sure, and the Pope's a woman and the papal conclave is split 50:50 between the sexes. That piece ended with this bizarre offering ...

Actually the pond is praying for the return of meaningful English ...

At least the angry Sydney Anglicans don't bother to pretend that they're remotely feminist.

They're firm believers in complimentary women, or put it another way, Equal but Different Promoting biblical relationships for women, which is to say, remember rib, Adam runs the show ...

That 'equal but different' routine doesn't even have an ironic awareness of other verbal wordplay ...

There's a supra-abundance of folly out there, and yet the reptiles remain fixated on Islam.

Go figure ...there's something deeply neurotic, as well as deeply weird bigoted, in this fixation ... who'd have thought a couple of percent of the population would so transfix and hypnotise the reptiles and the urbane Urban? That's when they're not transfixed inspecting genitals in their TG coverage ...

Speaking of pigs - the pond isn't sure how they got into the conversation, they were covered in yesterday's Rowe cartoon of the squealers squealing in their porky pie way ...

... when things get desperate for the pond, it always turns to the reliable Oz editorialist for a little gravitas.

Well a class war wouldn't have much going for it, if there wasn't a populist war on the banks going on at the same time ...

It seemed promising, but would the Oz editorialist come through for the pond?

Say what? 2008 was all about the strength of the banking sector? That's why we came through

Funnily enough Treasury has thoughtfully put The Australian Economy and the Global Downturn Part 1: Reasons for Resilience, online ...

After many graphs - Alan Kohler would be ever so pleased - and much discussion, the paper ended up this way ...

Dammit, those bloody Keynsians at it again, with their idle talk of multiple factors and rapid and large monetary and fiscal policy response ...

Well to be fair to the reptiles the pond should run the rest of the editorial, but that Rowe cartoon of a few days ago might help it go down with a sugar hit, as well as a chance to remind punters that there's always more Rowe here ...

Yep, that sets the mood for a bit more porker squealing. The banjoes are strumming in Deliverance ...

Banish miscreants from the industry? How shocking, how disturbing ...

How on earth will the porkers take the necessary risks in successfully screwing mug punters? And what about the banks being exposed to home loans? Won't someone think of the long-suffering banks? Who on earth arranged for this exposure? Don't tell the pond, it knows the answer ... damned Keynsians ...

Speaking of suffering, the Pope was in good form with a tragic tale of 'bot suffering, with more exemplary Pope here ...

Ok, well what about "fiscal policy response" in Howard The Great's era. Let me see:

The tax cuts Howard and Costello gave are now costing [the budget] about $30 billion a year,” says John Hewson."

    And:

"The budget, with its raft of grossly regressive savings measures, can be seen as just one part of a long and concerted effort to redistribute income upwards. That effort began more than a decade ago when John Howard and Hockey’s predecessor, Peter Costello, ran the most profligate government in Australian history."

So there it is: a piss weak "Treasurer" who didn't have the ticker to knife his leader, and a leader so beloved of his own that he not only lost the Prime Ministership but was dumped out of his own 'very safe seat' in favour of, of all people, Maxine McKew (has anybody heard anything from or about her in the last several years ?).

Can we finally get rid of any 'veneration' of the Howard-Costello government and its gross economic and social vandalism ?

    1. The pond really enjoyed the opener to that story VC:

Fed up with Australian internet speeds that trail those in most of the developed world, Morgan Jaffit turned to a more reliable method of data transfer: the postal system.

Hundreds of thousands of people from around the world have downloaded Hand of Fate, an action video game made by his studio in Brisbane, Defiant Development. But when Defiant worked with an audio designer in Melbourne, more than 1,000 miles away, Mr. Jaffit knew it would be quicker to send a hard drive by road than to upload the files, which could take several days.

“It’s really the big file sizes that kill us,” said Mr. Jaffit, the company’s co-founder and creative director. “When we release an update and there’s a small bug, that can kill us by three or four days....”

Maybe he was talking about a private courier. After all, they've fucked Australia Post too ...

    2. But the thing is, DP, what can we do to ensure that Malware in the Muddle loses not only the Prime Ministership, but also his own seat. It would only be fair, after all.
