In which the Bolter gnaws away at Savva and Malware ...

The pond loves it when reptiles fuss and feud and fight.

There's no point in having a dull herpetarium ,where basket weaving and tiddly winks are the order of the day ...

So when Niki Savva began to anguish and wring hands, though she did her best to weave in the fate of dim Sam, the Bolter was ready to pounce...

The Bolter knew the real agenda and naturally the pond was delighted when the biggest, nastiest and most brutish reptile of all in the herpetarium seized the moment to mock and ridicule...

Not so much a monitor lizard, more a T-Rex of hate ...

Fancy wanting to discuss an actual parliamentary agenda ... when really the national sport of head-kicking and billy goat head-butting should always come first.

But we've jumped ahead and so should give Savva a little more space ...

Well indeed, and there's no better delcon hater than the Bolter ...

Makes all further comment redundant really, but that's not the Bolter way ... and so it's back to the Bolter savaging the Savva.

Now there's a lot of repetition here, because that's the way the Bolter builds up his blog, by regurgitating the words of others.

But if the Bolter does it, is it wrong for the pond to follow suit?

You don't just get Savva on Savva, but the Bolter on Savva too ... the sort of exegesis and commentary the pond would be proud to call its ownss ...

The pond loves the way the Bolter coyly asks could he simply be a dud, when everyone knows the Bolter, like a broken clock, engages in a rant at least twice a day on how Turnbull is hopeless, useless, and should resign if not today, then certainly tomorrow so we can all enjoy the weekend.

Up against this sort of festering hostility, poor Savva can only sound persecuted in her closing gobbet:

Well it's tempting to join in the rant at the way Malware broke the NBN, doing the onion muncher's will, as if that's some sort of excuse ...

But note how the poor, paranoid Savva sees enemies everywhere, including Nimmitabel warrior Angus Taylor heading off to prattling Polonius's home to serve the Abbott agenda of unrest and turmoil and eviction of the wets in NSW  ...

It's all jolly good fun, and while the pond has warned against too much imbibing - drink the Bolter only in moderation, especially if preparing to drive a vehicle - this piece of hubris rounds it out ...

Oops, sorry, the pond seems to have lost that link for ordering the Bolter's book.

Now the pond knows that there will be reflexive post-modernist, post-ironists who noted the Bolter's disapproval of the "thuggish," and the "abusive".

So here's your post-satirical guide to genteel discourse, Bolter style ...

What now indeed?

Does it take a thug to call a thug?

If anyone reads the lightly moderated comments beneath the Bolter's thuggish, abusive columns, they'll discover  cesspit of thuggish abuse ...

Now some might have a different idea of what constitutes a thug ...

But the pond is confused.

In the world of the Bolter, "thug," it seems,  can be vile, abusive and thuggish ... but when talking about premiers, it can just be pleasant banter, and certainly in no way comparable to such vicious words as "dolt" and "bully" and "goose" ...

What a goose he is, how he loves to be the centre of attention like the sulky, thin-skinned, self-indulgent, easily hurt, moping and emotionally shallow narcissist he is ... regardez moi, regardez moi, etc etc ...

And so to a Pope cartoon which evokes the feeling of Malware and possibly Savva this day ... and more Pope here ...

Too much of a Dangerous Idea, I guess.

  2. Hi Dorothy,

I’m not surprised that Bolt tootled over to the Grauniad in order to wade through the comments section. It’s his business model.

Saying appalling things and deliberately trolling is what Bolt does. He knows that other media will pick up on it and disseminate it to a broader audience:- Free advertising. The subsequent furore will bring extra readers and hits back to the News website interested to find out what is causing such a fuss and therefore boost advertising revenue.

He is not alone in this tactic and it seems to be a race to the bottom. No wonder the reptiles want 18C repealed as it would allow them to plough a fresh pasture of vileness.

The only way to defeat Bolt and his ilk is to ignore both him and his imitators and yes I can see the irony in that as I’ve just written yet another comment on this waste of space.

Worse of all it’s what I come to Loon Pond for. Dearie Me!

    1. Yeah, we were just kinda getting used to the Great 21st Century Trope ("It's not policy, it's all politics now") when what it's really all about is reptiles trolling other reptiles. And they all do it.

So that's it, we're finally within sight of the 'rock bottom' as the reptiles become the only show in town.

  3. Andrew, that abuse has nothing to do with ''The Left".

    It's personal, buddy.

    1. Careful Bolter is already sooking about the personal threats made to his perfect person and his perfect family. He claims he has had to move home because he is so scared of these awful violent people on teh evil left.

He's not taking offence, he's taking fear for his family as the trope to go for now.
