Day 74 of MUC and day 27 of MOC, and talk about ideological bullies going about their daily bullying ...

The pond loves it when a bully steps into the room and accuses others of bullying ...

Oh for fuck's sake, there's a hardened Murdoch gorilla in the room - with no apologies to the Facebook crowd - and the quivering jelly-fish want to talk the talk about ideological bullying, while walking over anybody and anything vaguely to the left of Genghis Khan that they can find ...

Harden the fuck up, jelly fish reptiles, person up as it were, and just admit that you're an ideological bully, especially when you're out and about accusing others of ideological bullying ...

Oh for fuck's sake, how did Bjorn Lomborg get into the discussion?

The reptiles themselves have stopped featuring the wretched wastrel ... if the tags are any guide, the last time they recycled a Lomborg piece, it was at the end of April, and here we are deep in winter by a full three days, and Lomborg's passing seems to coincide with the invention of Christ Mitchell as an Order of Lenin hunter on top of the media scene ...

And what the fuck is climate rationalism?

Now the pond knows that the reptile HQ is an ideological bunker and that the house editorial style is to bully the reptiles to carry out their duties - talk to refugees from News Corp and you'll discover broken fragments of humanity, scarred by the relentless bullying ...

But the campaign over Safe Schools is exceptional, even for a bullying culture, and has, seen day after day vicious, relentlessly bullying headlines, by the broken sent out to break others ...

They're at it again today ...

It's never-ending, this stomping and carrying on by the gorilla in the room ...

And then they have the cheek to run this ...

Cognitive dissonance yet again? The IPA more liberal than the reptiles? So it seems ...

Of course it's done with the ineffable condescension that the pond expects of the IPA ... which allows the general slur that social science faculties are stuffed with Marxists and what about poor old Barry Spurr ...

And what the fuck, there's Bjorn Lomborg again.

What is it with Lombrorg and climate science?

Warmest autumn on record, and the reef in tatters and still they're talking about fashionable thinking?

Like observing what's happening in the world's climate is just fashionable thinking?

Was the hole in the ozone layer just a case of fashionable thinking?

Jesus wept, or at least he surely would should he ever deign to return ...

But hey nonny no, on we must go ...

Uh huh, so it purports to be about different ideas, and freedom of expression, but really it's just another excuse to kick the Catholic suffering can and the Lomborg can and all the other usual IPA cans a little further down the road, and recount all the suffering and persecution of ideological warriors ...  so with blessed relief, we can all relax, knowing that deep in their hearts, the IPA crowd remains the kissing kin of the Oz editorialist ...

And now, though it's got nothing to do with any of the above, the pond would like to pause to admire the way that the cartoonists have joined in the Super fine with a super collection of cartoons ... (and more Moir here).

And here's Rowe on mattresses ... and more Rowe here ...

And here's Pope and more Pope here, and this very day the pond is jetting off in search of this special adult sort of coffee ... oh Melbourne, Melbourne, it's beaker time for the pond ...

  1. Just a little spot to park a couple of observations that is far from the madding crowd. Yeah, enjoy your time(s) in Smith St., DP - where did you dine this time ?

Anyhow, No 1 from the scuttling sauropsids of the lizard Oz:

"Ms Ward is hardly a victim of those who would strangle free speech. La trobe University should hold her and others to account."

And so it did, so it did, and this was the result:

"La Trobe University has withdrawn all allegations of misconduct against controversial academic Roz Ward and reinstated the Safe Schools co-founder, effective immediately.

The university's backflip came just hours after it received a threatening legal letter from Maurice Blackburn Lawyers. The firm's employment law expert Josh Bornstein argued that suspending someone over a private Facebook post was "unlawful" and contravened the university's enterprise agreement, the Fair Work Act and Victoria's Equal Opportunity Act.

He said the law firm would commence legal proceedings in the Federal Court if the university failed to meet these demands by 10am on Monday."

Heh. Genuflect, genuflect, genuflect oh scuttling sauropsids.

Not only, but also No 2:

"Beyondblue chairman Jeff Kennett yesterday called for Ms Ward to resign from the role, saying her “extreme political views” rendered her “ineligible to be involved in any program …. in schools”. Mr Kennett, whose charity has provided almost $600,000 over the past two years to La Trobe University’s Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society, which administers the Safe Schools program in Victoria, added: “You don’t want extremists in there. Her behaviour and her statement clearly indicate a belief which goes well beyond the conditions of which I am prepared to have this subject taught in schools.”"

I should have known it was too good to be true, shouldn't I. But then old Malcolm Fraser didn't become fully operationally human in just one step. Maybe there's still time for Jeffy. Oh, but he really is a "precious snowflake" isn't he.

    1. JK has always been a problem for Beyondblue, being a dinosaur, but they like his profile and his drawing power, and so they do the dance of irrelevance together ...
