Day 57 of MUC and day 10 of MOC, and the pond is extremely anxious that handouts will confirm the Caterists deep sense of victimhood ...

With it being day 57 of Malware's unofficial call and day 10 of Malware's official call, the pond is already well frazzled and wilting, but the reptiles are showing an amazing resilience ...

An eight week campaign of fear, and tales of woe, and a negative front page a day?

That's a big task, a tough call, an onerous duty, but the reptiles are breezing it in ...

With the exception of the Daily Terrorists, distracted by a footballer, all systems are go ...

Yes, even if it means playing footsy with the greenies, there's a fine Oz front page, and the HUNsters were also up to the job ...

But best of all was the Currish Snail's effort ...

How dare these wretches, many of them supposedly actually genuine refugees, behave in this outrageous way.

Australians generously give these bludgers cancer sticks and instead of smoking them and dying - a long, lingering painful death locked in a gulag - surely the best solution for all - they show a capitalist spirit and an awareness of healthy living, and trade the coffin nails for meaningless toys ... just so the caring, considerate toads can make a joke about the remotes...

Don't they know that they're in a gulag, sentenced to a lifetime of punishment and suffering, up there with Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, and even a hint of humanity is a smack in the face to the reptiles?

But fortunately it establishes the theme for the day, led with considerable agility by the Caterists ...

Now the pond is acutely aware of the dangers of handouts.

In fact the pond is deeply concerned that handouts will confirm the Caterist sense of victimhood, and are unlikely to help the Caterist get his life back together ...

Okay, there's the mote in the eye, and the pond has to admire the way it's a considerable mote ... a generous, hearty mote ... but the pond has always admired the Judeo-Christian heritage and what it means for deeply conservative folk ...

Oh okay, it means three fifths of fuck all, since let's face it, the KJV doesn't actually say "and why beholdest the cash in the paw grant that is in thy brother's pocket, but considerest not the generously beamed cash in the paw grant that is in thine own very deep pocket ..."

So the Caterist can blithely rave on without any sense of hypocrisy, none whatsoever ...

Oh indeed, indeed. These days of course sundowners turn up at a government department with paw outstretched, hoping for a grant ...

Yes, it wasn't just in 2016, the pond should also record the other recent grant ...

By the pond's estimate, that's just shy of a cool half million ...

Nice work, sundowner ... plenty of meals in that lot ...

And what joy that putting out the paw for some cash helps in the abuse of a hapless rabbit caught in the full glare of the destructive, vicious Murdochians' headlights ...

Indeed, indeed, and the pond has to admit to a certain nervousness about how those generous government grants will help the Caterist get his life together.

It would seem the odds are that they will certainly make it worse. An institutional shortage of cash is a symptom of a poverty of mind, a pettiness, a corruption of the soul, a hard-heartedness, and a wanton disregard for others, and quite possibly also the cause of same ..

But the pond wouldn't want to undercut the real sense of suffering experienced by the real victims in this whole sorry saga ...

Time to wash the taste of bad journalists and members of the commentariat working for a criminal organisation from the pond's mouth with a few cartoons, and what do you know, both Pope - more Pope here - and Rowe - more Rowe here - have a little fun with penalty rates, because you know, cash back at at 7-Eleven is surely the best way to grow an agile, innovative economy ...

Pay to work! What could be fairer than that?

Oh right, give grants to the Caterists so they can write about bludgers and thereby provide the pond with a post-modern, post-ironic overload of irony ...

  1. I'm sure you remember this. Even more true today than it was in the '60's.

    1. Yep, an oldie but a goodie, and the pond knows its place ... in the queue for grants, one paw stuck out and the other ready to palm off a Caterist ...

  2. What the F*** is Telstra doing? Trying to muscle in to the Philippines with a beer maker, when they can't even get decent service to regional Australia.

  3. "Handouts will only confirm victimhood" on the very same day Quadrant is bitching about losing $60K from the Australia Council due to the very cuts they championed.

    Oh sweet revenge!

  4. 'Popular Mechanics' unbelievably has a history of political subversion.

This a great example "How to shoot down a drone"

  5. Oh dear, Kelly O'Dwyer is spouting more nonsense after her brilliant performance on Q&A last week. By the way she is the Liberal Party's entry into the All Nations Bruce Forsyth Lookalike Competition.

  6. A parable for jobs and growth.
A king gave $100 million to each of four investors. He came back after a year to see where his capital had gone.
The first had blown it all on pokies and the gee-gees. The second had put the money into casinos and cocaine, doubling it. The third put it all into a blind, deaf and mute trust, earning a gilt-wrapped, guilt-free return of seven percent.
The fourth set up a hi-tech firm, employing fifty people, intending to put the profits back into the business and into trainee-ships for STEM graduates. The king looked upon that venture with such favour that he bought it, stripped its assets and sold its intellectual property for a handsome profit. Then he set upon the first with his sharp tongue and ordered their status be reduced to a lampoon. Luckily, the cartoonist had just been sacked.

I thought I would be smart and ask a few questions, so I clicked on the "NBN - Bring it on" ad which was buried in the SMH online version.
    This is what I received
