Day 49 of MUC and day 2 of MOC, and the reptiles are solemn, the onion muncher subdued, and Sophie is said to be cooked ...

Where have all the Murdochian rags dynamic front pages gone, long time passing?
Where have all the 'kick this mob out' flowers gone, long time ago?
Where have all the tree killers gone?
Oh when will they ever learn?

And so on, because what a dismal start it was in the Murdochian rags, at the beginning of the marathon ...

Already the jaundice and the inertia was there on the front pages in the guise of a race...

The HUNsters thought so little of the race that they put it below the Logies coverage ...

And dammit at the glitz and the glamour, they showered praise and gifts on an Islamic preaching multicultural diversity ... can the Bolter endure it? A popular vote? Has the populace gone mad?

And the Daily Terrorists? This was the best they could manage ...

That's the best they could manage? Land of hope that the NBN will eventually be fixed, land of fear that it's eternally fucked? Land of hope that climate science will eventually be heeded, land of fear that it's eternally fucked? (Repeat choruses featuring BOM, CSIRO, gulags, etc etc, as desired).

It's a far cry from the glory days ...

And what of the pond's favourite, the reptiles of Oz.?

Fear and trembling infest the front page ...

Even the early morning digital splash contained signs of skittishness and nervousness ...

Poor old bouffant one ... "historically humiliated" ... and what about Phillip Hudson's desperate lunge?

Two out of five? Does that mean three out of five voters think the reptiles of Oz are barking up the wrong entitlement tree?

But let's hand it to the bouffant one. He's been doing sterling hard yards, taking the ball up the middle, and has made the rehabilitation of the onion muncher an EXCLUSIVE speciality ...

Here he was a few days ago ...

And look, lo and behold, here he is this day ...

Oh no, not that dreadful woman, undermining all the good work that the onion muncher and the bouffant one had done in the previous story ...

The trouble is, of course, each time that the bouffant one scribbles that there's nothing to see here, the pond is reminded that surely there must be something to see there ...

Meanwhile, the pond will be taking a particular pleasure tracking the fate of Sophie Mirabella, long a pond favourite ...

What, the pond won't have tricky Soph, or tricky Dick for that matter, to kick around for much longer?

Well trust Sophie to produce a 403 Forbidden, access denied.

The taint of the hospital denied even seems to affect the reptile coding ...

And now the reptiles are reporting it's over before it started ...

Well there's a cheerful way to begin day 2 of the MOC ...

... and more Wilcox here, where she has lately taken to poetry ...

  1. Here is a neat summary of the Coalition's solutions to all of Australia's social and economic ills:

  2. So to be clear, a broadly disliked figure is looking for a bounce of around about 180% on her 20% popularity in Indi, and that bounce will be based on a lukewarm budget.

But it's okay, because she has the support of several party members including the man recently judged too toxic to lead the Liberals. And for bonus points, her divisive attitude also damages the coalition with the Nationals?

Gee, this media analysis is not too challenging some days.

Good luck Sophie, may the force be with you. Don't believe the Cookistas gurl!!

  3. I listened to the Terminator being interviewed by Fran Kelly this morning. Albo subsequently said what I'd been thinking--imagine how tedious 8 weeks of constant and robotic repetition by the Liberals of 3-word slogans is going to be.

Almost as tedious as the ABC's live coverage of Turnbull's visit to the GG yesterday. I turned on for gardening and art and instead got a dreary mansion, grey Canberra skies, commentary about cars stopping at lights and the constant inane droning by 2 apologists for the Coalition (one of them unconvincingly disguised as an ABC journalist).

    1. It clearly is 'their' distorting ABC when all is said and done. Just look at 'Promise Tracker' for their ABC's contortionist abilities. FFS, right up there with Malware and the LNP's innovative and agile flexibility that's otherwise known as lying!
