Day 30, and the pond is distracted from the main game by a little bigotry, homophobia, and village idiocy, thanks be unto the Devine ... and Alex and Greg ...

Ah yes, young Master Alex ...

"On [ABC's] Lateline on 18 July, 2006, there was a program about what these new Liberals coming in are like," Albanese said. "It showed the Young Liberals at a conference, happy to be filmed chanting the following: 'We're racist, we're sexist, we're homophobic. We're racist, we're sexist, we're homophobic.' and then singing: 'Glory, glory, Liberal students, in history's page let every stage, advance Australia fair'."

And other fine Alex thoughts can be found at Fairfax in A Young gun doing the right thing ...

It reminded the pond that even during an election campaign it was important to retain the hate ...
and the bigotry ...

Now there are many fine spectacles this morning ... there's the usual spectacle of a parade of a solemn bunch of angry doddery old men ...

There are alarums and dire imprecations and warnings and hand wringings ...

And a village idiot came along to provide a little light relief ...

Yes, there was a man who accepts transubstantiation and pie in the sky bye and bye sniggering and snickering at village idiots ...

Well every village needs its idiot, and the reptiles certainly have theirs, but the pond still felt the need for some decent hate and bigotry of the old school...

What say you, isn't today Miranda the vicious Jean d'Arc Devine day, seeking to re-establish her credentials as a vicious bigot in the style of those Young Hawkeish Liberals?

Let it be so ...

Now there's no point in having a debate with the Devine.

If you're a Qantas shareholder, you might have issues with Joyce at the moment, but if you happen to be a human being, you know that the Devine just wants to be mean and nasty and vicious, you know, the Queen Bee syndrome featured in the meanest high school girl movies ... (careful of all the advertising, it hurts the eyes)

That's why she starts off with "authoritarian dictator" and "militant politicisation" and "totalitarian intolerance" and so on ...

As the pond is only too aware, the Godwin's Law swear jar can rapidly get full to overflowing, and so the natural retort - that Devine makes the Catholic fascism of the Francos of the world seem like a moderate force for good - must be shelved ...

But such is the innocence of the Terorist fascists, such is their idle desire to pull wings off flies in their bid to provoke and attract attention, that they also offered up a cartoon in the second Devine gobbet ...

Uh huh. And the Devine wonders why she cops the label of homophobe and bigot.

It doesn't get much more homophobic or bigoted than that illustration. It would be nice to excommunicate the Devine as a non-person too, but the trouble there is that you'd have to be a village idiot like Greg Craven and believe that excommunication will stop you from getting to the pie in the sky in the sweet bye and bye ...

But just for the record, the pond feels the need to set down the rest of the bigotry and homophobia ...

Well there's nothing to see there, apart from the usual language you might expect from a bigot with no fear of Godwin's Law, such as "totalitarian overreach" and "frightening and escalating intolerance" along with bizarre mutterings such as "the plebiscite which will put the issue to rest (if it is conducted fairly)" ...

Paranoid, moi?

And this is the con who's supposed to be non-delusional and a supporter of Malware.

Is it in the same spirit as hanging greenies from the nearest lamp post that the Devine invokes crucifixion?

Never mind, the vicious bigotry of the Devine surely shows to us how fragile is the facade of enlightened social consensus, torn apart each week by the Terrorists and the Devines ...

As for Alan Joyce, the pond is no longer a Qantas shareholder and so can have a shred of pity for someone wanting to express support for human dignity.

Sorry, Mr Joyce join the long queue of those who've been Devined ... enjoy the essence of vitriol ...

And so to a video, a little compressed thanks to the geopolitical territorial fascism of SNL, but viewable ...

Now if you wondered what that was all about you might have missed the original trailer, a movie the pond guarantees it will not watch, at least until the twelfth of never ... but Alex Hawke and Miranda the Devine have probably already pre-ordered their popcorn ...

  2. Kelly O'Dwyer currently in full breathless blather mode on ABC radio. Expect more of the same, setting a wonderful tone for Lib "action".

  3. Joyce is wrong. You can bank on the Church; and you can definitely fly with it. I've seen it. So Jeanne D'Arc can just farc off with her stupid analogies.

And when the Church tries to tell me I'm not moral, I think of their threats to Telstra, and what will happen the day the Church reaches the pearly gates.

Oh wait a minute, the Church is an unincorporated entity. Damn!

  4. Indeed "God's not dead", it never existed so it can't have died. So simple.

However, I reject the bit about "...a village idiot like Greg Craven" when, of course, Greg Craven is truly depriving some village, somewhere, of its idiot. [Yeah, an oldie, but still a goldie]

    1. GB, hi, the trailer at the end advised the movie was to open "IN THEATERS (sic) APRIL 1st"... just saying

    2. Yes, point taken, Anony, however it wasn't the April Fool's "movie" that I was commenting on, but the "God is dead" meme itself. Which of course has had a great vogue since Nietzsche pronounced it some number of times (though for him it was basically a trope, not a truth).

Put simply, what has never existed cannot have died. Just my small push in favour of elementary rationality.

  5. Isn't it funny that whenever another example of the shitty behaviour of the Catholic Church towards molested children, the professional Catholics like Devine start beating the ant gay drum.
It's almost like they are trying to distract us.
