In which the dog botherer is clearly enfeebled by the holyday season, as we cruz towards madness weather we like it or not ...

Monday is of course the day the pond watches the dog botherer watching the watchers so that all may disappear up sundry fundaments ...

The watchers watching the watchers routine seems to have disappeared from the reptilian splash ...

But Google remains loyal to the old branding ...

It turns out that the dog botherer has been enfeebled by the holyday season.

What a wretched and pathetic column it is ... though it's hard to know if the cowardly lion or the tin man is the best metaphor.

Go on metaphors, fight amongst yourselves for the honour ...

Talk about blather. Bushfire reports and cricket on the radio. That's all he's got by way of demeaning condescension.

Why that's like saying the pond seeks out the reptiles of Oz for their lizard commentariat ways as they provide the rhythm of the season ... senility one day, senility the next.

Of course we can't expect a philistinian (as Victor Mature might say) to listen Bolter-style to ABC Classic FM, nor should we expect an older fart whose day job is to shout at clouds to listen to youff radio, the inescapable cockroach of the airwaves when travelling in the country.

Perhaps it's best not to blather about the blather - let's just get it over with as quickly as possible ...

What can be said, except to remark on the dog botherer's total and wondrous twittishness, a twittering wittering twittishness entirely suited to the age of the wittering waffling twittering tweeter ...

Leave aside the self-regard and the pumping up of Sky - the pond has survived for years without thinking about the astonishing and ugly sight of the Swiss bank account man sitting down with the parrot to offer opinions on the world -  so we can move on to the sundry other delusions, not least the notion that commercial media embraces plurality, when everyone knows that they, especially the Nine network, only embrace blondes ... and Karl, who showed last year in his 'current affairs' show that he conforms to every blonde stereotype going ...

As if Kenny is in any position to talk about holding personal opinions,  presumably because he thinks being to the right of Genghis Khan is some sort of centrist position ...

It was so feeble that the pond felt the need to head off to the comments section for a decent dose of the kool aid. You know, hate, hate, hate the ABC, sell it off to Chairman Rupert ...

Lordy, long absent lordy, the forceful illiteracy turned out to be strong with these ones ...

For anyone attempting to point out the obvious, there was an illiterate one to hand to sell their soul to the Chairman and worship at the tail of the dog botherer with sniffs of delight...

Indeed, and weather we like it or not - and that goes beyond the two thumbs excuse that the pond routinely accepts, being routinely guilty of typos itself - that last comment about sums up the aggro alienation and the hostility to the 'other' (yes, the mere mention of Urdu is screamingly funny) that lurks in phobic reptile land.

It makes the pond wonder if the reptiles ever wonder how this shrinking band of Jeffs and Geoffreys constitutes some kind of business model ...

Oh there might be nice Jeffs out there, presumably the kind that listen to the local communist bradcater, but if the pond was in the chair at the lizard Oz, we'd be wondering about the tribe that follows the rag ...

Even the agrarian socialists got short shrift ...

Oh go kiss the ring of Chairman Rupert,  you snivelling snot, Barry, and let's hope it delivers all you want and wish for ... with any luck you'll live in the Chairman Rupert led police state of your Orwellian dreams. Oh bliss, oh poop, how Brendan that sounded ...

But speaking of ultra weirdness, could the comments section of the Oz possibly hope to match this outing?

Warning, the following might well occasion mental or physical harm. IQ might diminish, eyesight might be affected. The pond disclaims all responsibility and liability. If you cruz the intertubes, you must expect collateral damage for humanity and ducks ...

    1. Isn't that the same Patricia Karvelas who worked for The Australian for quite a few years ? And got a joint Walkley Commendation with Dennis Shanahan ?

So what's this about Kenny acting like he doesn't know her ? Besides, the ABC program she hosted was RN's drive - hardly a hotbed of political ideology.

    2. Oh there you go again GB, trying to introduce a reality check to the pond. Please stop it, it will do no good, delusions must be maintained, they're crucial to the commentariat world order ...

    3. My profound apologies, DP, it must be some kind of negative reaction to too much Murdochism. I'll try to not let it happen again ... or at least not more than once a day.

  2. Decade after decade light weights like Kenny have rhetorically hacked away at the ABC and yet in 2016 it has never been larger, more influential or more central to the Australian media landscape. Fail, fail, fail.

  5. Gee whizz, Jeff isn't a happy camper, is he?

But, everyone is good for something and on Jeff's behalf I Hunted "Tony Jones".

I can report that with three kids it's possible he (Jones) does have a couple of "Misses" (all good Jeff, I capitalised the "m" for you - no thanks necessary).

  6. Jeff is a cracker.

Veritably, yelling at clouds in great irritation, misspellings of misses where'er he goes. Is it just me, or are we all thinking of the ABC were shut down for Jeff, he might develop another bugbear that needed urgent treatment?

The comments thread in The Oz? I need a stiff one before retiring. This is territory I'd not imagined existed.

    1. The pond rarely goes there VC, and the silly season is almost ended, which will be a great relief to everyone, except perhaps Jeff ...
