In which the pond is almost innovated and enervated out ...

(Above: and more cruel Pope here).

It's a measure of the intrinsic dumbness of the rough Brough that he would seek to blame the Nine network for his woes ... without thinking a nanosecond ahead to the moment where, in response, Nine would release the tape and the transcript for all to see and read ...

How long can the rough Brough last? Never mind, if you wanted an impression of thickets of brush and bush for the end of year school play, you'd hope every school had a rough Brough slouching towards them ...

Meanwhile, there has been much to do about what one member of the Twitterati dubbed "liar calls liar 'liar' ..."

Naturally the reptiles were in it up to their collective necks ...

By which juxtaposition, many might think that the reptiles of Oz are part of Abbott's army ... or perhaps they're just a bunch of piqued reptiles, upset by the fuss the Fairfaxians have managed to generate ...

Meanwhile, there are days when the pond can't keep up, when there's just never enough hours to devote to informed reptile watching, as the rough scaly critters roam about, or sit preening on their hot rock in their Surry Hills bunker ...

Look at this line-up ...

What a gaggle, with Kelly yammering away yet again. Of course the pond would like a debate on fundamentalist Christians and creationists in parliament, but it's unlikely to happen ...

They never tire, do they, these reptiles, when it comes to linking terror and Islam in a splash? You might hunt high and low for talk of the Christian jihadist oil war in Iraq, but that's the way it goes in reptile la la land. The pond suspects it's a diet of superior insects that does it ...

And look at that, Dame Slap, and the lesser Slap, contending for an edge ...

And lordy lordy, the reptiles have been blessed, above all, by their master's voice, and his ineffable presence ...

It was a cruel choice, but the pond had no alternative. He who must be obeyed must be read, and the good news is that gentle Dr Ben loving - it's the pyramids, the pyramids - chairman Rupert is definitively a foreigner.

All those times he used the collective "we" to talk of Australia and Australians was just a lie. Well, how else could we get a liar whose media empire specialises in calling liars liars, while their own pants are on fire?

Of course the downside is that a pesky furriner is in charge of a substantial slab of the Australian media, and the reptiles dance to his tune, but since the chairman spends much time celebrating American exceptionalism, it would be exceptional if the pond didn't join in ...

So there you have it, and so this foreigner becomes an exponent of, and an apologist for, the current weirdness abroad in the GOP, most notable in his love of the pyramid-loving Dr Ben.

It requires some nifty footwork, doing an apologia. Note the tap dance around Vietnam, and pay particular attention to the celebration of the great war of 2003, and the marvels of the 43rd presidency:

What's that you say? The North Vietnamese Communists still running Vietnam is a caricature and distortion of a very successful war? And you couldn't find a single reference to the great war of 2003 and the once eminent crusader who famously declared victory...

Never mind. Let it just be remembered that the Murdochians refract the world through war, and war mongering, and right now the Daily Terrorists are in the middle of another demonising war ...

Yes, it's more talk of Islamic thugs, though if you talk of Christian thugs, you'd cop a right old bollocking ...

Meanwhile, as anticipated, climate science is currently all the go in reptile la la land ... and naturally the heavy guns were wheeled out for a second bite at the cherry ...

But the pond isn't interested in lightweight, climate-denial fellow travellers, not when their master's voice is on hand, thundering away on the subject ...

Excellent, and so the pond offers this piece as evidence of a closed loop. The reptiles love to talk about group think,  but here we have a fine example of the reptiles publishing Lomborg, so the reptiles are able to quote Lomborg, and thus the reptiles and Lomborg are able agree, and everything is wonderful, and it's group hug time, as if we're in a re-run of Galaxy Quest ...

Now the pond knows what the hardened one or two readers who managed to endure - well done, you made it to here - are thinking at this point.

One reference to Lomborg surely doesn't cut it, and the pond has played an exceptional 'Chairman Rupert talking about Bush/Iraq' trick.

But wait. In total contradistinction to the Catersists yesterday urging that government have nothing whatsoever to do with innovation - how much better to fund Caterists institutes - today it seems government, with full reptile approval, must be at the centre of innovation, and it is the Lomborgians leading the reptiles to demand that innovation be made the cause of the day.

Just innovate, dammit, innovate ...

And there, you see, is a fine example of a closed loop, of reptiles talking to reptiles.

Now at some point someone might want to know if solar and wind power aren't green energies, then what are the green energies that must be innovated ... not understanding the pond's clever research into harnessing the power of rubber bands ... and industrial-sized Mr Slinkys ...

Whenever the reptiles talk of group think, the pond shuffles uneasily because can there ever be a better example of the collective kool aid that's swallowed daily in the Surry Hills bunker?

One hesitates to mention Jonestown, but it's clear enough in just one sentence where this leads ... to the destruction of the English language ... and where, you will note above, the pond was led ...

Yes, the reptiles approvingly quoted that sentence ...

Once the price of green energy has been innovated down ...

The pond, it has to be said, was impacted up ...

Never mind, it's good to see the furriner's evasive dissembling closed loop chattering to each other as they plough on full steam ...

It just leaves time for a couple of cartoons, the first in honour of the citizens of Beijing - the pond has experienced that sort of pea soup first hand - and as always, more First Dog can be found here, and the original of the cartoon below, if you can't be bothered clicking to enlarge...

  1. The only way out of that closed loop of nattering negativity & cognitive dissonance has been spotted by Roop!
DP, it's revival! Re-vival, Re-vi-VAL, Revival! Not rotation, reflection, revolution, not removal. It's REVIVAL! Led by the Third Policeman hisself!

  2. And yesterday's guest editorial in the Oz by one Dr Jennifer Oriel (who she?) managed to state as fact that Menzies banned the communist party in the '50's, so we should do the same to the Muzzies. This was much to the delight of Mike Carlton and his twitter friends.

"Dr Oriel seems to have gone to the Ben Carson school of history.,"
"And once voted one of the top ten smartest people at Australian Universities."

    3. Now be fair, Anony, Menzies government did indeed declare the CPA illegal in 1940 and the poor commos had to go underground f a couple of years until the illegality was lifted in 1942.

So Jenni O was only out by 10 years and a parliamentary declaration versus a referendum. But in neither case were the activities of the CPA in any way diminished. So much for 'anti jihadism' by the Pig Iron Man.

  6. The very fact the Chairman calls them "Americans" is testament to his ignorance: Peruvians and Mexicans have equal rights to the name.
