At this point the pond became enlightened ...

When Banzan was walking through a market he overheard a conversation between a butcher and his customer.
"Give me the best piece of meat you have," said the customer.
"Everything in my shop is the best," replied the butcher. "You cannot find here any piece of meat that is not the best."
At these words Banzan became enlightened. (and more koans here).

When the pond was flicking through the digital newsprint this day, the pond came across this note:

Every Bronnie joke on the full to overflowing intertubes is the best joke. You cannot find any joke that is not the best.

(here, with forced video)

At this point the pond became enlightened.

  1. Two monks of the order of the Pond, Abbess DP and initiate AudBrixtonian, were walking on the banks of the Press Gallery.

On the far side, they beheld a flamboyant Bronnie meme beckoning to be choppered across to the public.

Immediately DP stepped into the seething mass of Press Gallery confusion, and, scattering wine sodden journos hither and thither, she helped the Bronnie meme across the churning sozzle.

At the other side, DP bowed to the meme and the two monks continued on their way. The meme bowed and left, scattering memebeams on Facebook and Twitter as she went.

Shortly afterwards, AuldBrixtonian began to show increasing dismay. Finally, agitated, AuldBrixtonian said: You know we Pond observers aren't supposed to get fixated on Bronnie memes! There's serious issues at stake? Why did you chum the Press Gallery that way?

Said DP: I left the Bronnie meme on the banks of the Press Gallery. Are you still carrying her?

At this point AuldBrixtonian was enlightened.

  2. The best beef? That's easy. Vac-packed eye fillet.
Anyway, DP, what would Matt Taibbi think of Bronnie's performance?
How should Labor treat BB on Aug 10? Complete silence, or boos?

  3. I’ve seen it mentioned in several profiles of Bronny that she played a barrister in some 1967 episodes of this fine show, “Divorce Court” (I recall avidly watching both it and “Consider Your Verdict”):

I certainly hope that Channel Nine has somebody digging through the vaults, searching for her appearances. It would be so appropriate to screen them, given that it seems increasingly likely that she’ll be splitting from the speakership due to irreconcilable differences.

  5. Hi Dorothy,

PBS in the U.S. have recently animated an eclectic mix of old and almost forgotten interviews which are well worth viewing.
Bowie, Bette Davis, Liberace and Hunter S Thompson are just some of those selected.

    Quite a treat

  6. Thanks DW good link. We sampled the John Coltrane and once you get used to the novelty of the interviews being animated it is a treat.
