The war on Xmas rages, and the Xians are showing the way ...

(Above: found here).

It's official.

Inspired by the Abbott government,  new fronts in the war on Xmas have been established, and Santa is now a legitimate target.

Movement on the Santa front to date has been excellent.

Perhaps the most cogent attack on Santa has come via an attempted re-branding:

Our brand essence is the very essence of our brand!

But it turns out the re-branding was a lightweight assault, even though almost moved the pond to tears (and if you want more re-branding, why not head off here for the rest of the Santa brand book, thanks to the Quiet Room).

Meanwhile, the shit got a lot heavier over in the United States, thanks to the pond's favourite trend spotter, Jon Stewart, who was working up his 'Shit's getting weird' edition of the War on Christmas:

And truly the shit was getting weird, in a way only the crazies at Fox news know how to do. Crazy, crazy, crazing, beyond the barking mad and over the moon of insanity. Stewart started his piece this way:

Did we mention it was "Fox News Shit Getting Weird" edition with some genuine crazies driving around looking for a nativity scene?

Having forgotten there was a nativity scene being staged at the office:

And then the shit got really, really weird:

In a blinkered, racist sort of way:

Finally as the Fox geese had cackled about history and the way you couldn't change facts to suit an ideology, Stewart broke. He couldn't take it anymore, somehow getting consternated that St Nicholas had somehow transforming nto a jolly fat white man residing at the North Pole, with reindeer:

So he did a compare and contrast:

Oh look it's too hard to explain. It's just some really weird shit.

Hopefully you spoof your browser to give yourself access to Comedy Channel but if you don't at least you can catch Megyn Kelly remaining defiant, and profoundly dumb, here, as she refuses to back down on the notion that Santa and Jesus were white men, because she was "doing it for the kids". Won't someone think of the children, and ways to keep them ignorant and prejudiced.

If you're into some weird shit in the war on Santa and Xmas, this suits the bill.

And then, all that shit seemed pretty lightweight, as the shit got much heavier down under.

For those who were wondering where the grinch who stole Xmas went, it turns out that he's actually possessed a couple of professing Xians, who have taken this as the season to behave abominably rather than merrily:

Yes, just before Xmas, they've done over the Salvation Army.

Now the subbies at The Guardian must have had a think and realised that the header really didn't capture the flavour of the move. This one did:

Just before Xmas. You can read about it here, though you might feel a little sick. Nauseated even. Perhaps violently ill.

You might even wonder how Morrison, allegedly an Xian, sleeps at night, as you read Scott Morrison denies Amnesty report findings on Manus island detention.

Oh sure, there's an argument to be had about the Salvation Army's role, and whether it's facilitating or ameliorating evil doers dressed up as Xians, and whether that's worthy of Xians, especially as it involves cash in the paw. But at least there were a couple of genuine Xians who turned whistle blower, and now what's the bet that things are going to get a lot worse in the New Year?

It reminded the pond of another meme that's being doing the Facebook rounds:

Let them in?

Why it'll take a Miracle on 134th street just to see them treated as human beings ...

  2. It’s obvious Megyn Kelly is ignorant that the modern-day Santa’s origin is Coca Cola. It appears that some who live in the US are perpetually in Fantasyland.

    1. Excellent link HB! It almost goes without saying that Megyn Kelly and Fox are profoundly ignorant, and live in Fantasyland, but we have to keep saying it for fear reality and history will be lost in the Orwellian wilderness of lies
